- Sun political columnists Brian Lilley and Warren Kinsella talk about how Justin Trudeau is moving to nudge the fixed federal election date seven days later in 2025. Why? The claim is that it’s due to Diwali, but really, it’s a pension issue.
This is BS! None of them deserve a pension, let alone a raise!
If you do the MATH, a perfect science, pensions are going to be worthless since the dollar is collapsing.

Ironically, its mostly Conservative MPs that would win from this move, 32 Conservatives vs 22 Liberals, 20 Bloc Quebecois, and 6 NDP. Even the sum of the coalition NDP and Liberals don't come close to the number of the opposition who benefit from such a change.
Additionally, if the Liberals DO get voted out, there is a low chance the BQ are losing their seats and in this scenario the Conservatives would retain their seats, so at most 22 Liberals and 6 NDP MIGHT get pensions they wouldn't have otherwise? Thats only about 25% of the "extra" pensions being granted through this legislation.
They don't work anyway.

Imagine getting a pension at 55. We vote these MPs in. Then they vote themselves nice raises, pensions and wages. Then they vote to raise our taxes.
If ,Pollievre is elected,here's a few things I would like to see changed.... No pension until year 8.( As a start). A cap on extra costs. Also,cut certain things from cost. I mean spas etc....c'mon? Start having more internet meetings,instead of flying everywhere. No paid vacations. We pay your wages..buy your own trip to Florida! And this is a start.

Had I known when I was younger, (now 80), what I know now about being a politician, I may have become an honest one. But no, we were self employed in our own business for many years giving as many as 15 employees jobs. We didn't become wealthy, just raising a normal family. Now I survive on a government pension below poverty. This P.M. has been and is the most manipulative person and a disgrace to our country. Why and how is he still in this position ???? You're fired Trudeau. No severance pay for you. Why ? The list is long !!!
