- I present to you the first footage of these new minis!As the City of LA progresses and moves away from old trucks and diesel fuel, the city just recently bought these new 520 Mini ASLs. These minis are set to replace the 2000-2001 Circa Peterbilt 320 Mini Amrep Octos. The yard with the most diesel 2001 baby trucks is North Central. Oddly enough North Central hasn't received any of these new units year, I guess LABOS is going to distribute them to the yards that need the most help first.
I really love the way these trucks look, notice the new LA Signboards on these trucks. The CNG Tanks on the top was a nice touch as well. This truck comes out of the West LA Yard, I think they've only gotten 2 of them so far.
Expect to see another "North Central's Old Trucks" from me soon, once the diesel minis are gone. But for now enjoy this truck from the West LA Yard.

Such a nice looking truck but it's something I gotta get used to! I really like how gentle the trucks operate when they're brand new. It was also sad seeing 2 520s on the same street already lol. Loved this little truck though, especially how clean it is (for now). Congrats to you and your brother for getting the first footage of these! Hope you guys get the first of the Mcneilus FLs and the New Way RLs. Awesome video!

Is it hard getting into the city to work for them ? I’ve been wanting to work for them and also getting the cld license for it but idk if it’s hard to get it

Nice catch . These new trucks look great . The arm is fast . I got to say hope to see more of these 520s . Going to miss the octo and the old minis . When are the old minis and old trucks getting retired . Im trying to catch an old labos mini truck . great job 💯

I enjoy seeing more footage of the LABOS 520s. Love how the baby truck meets the full size at 0:41. This should be awesome to operate one of these trucks at the upcoming open houses. I wonder when East Valley is going to put their 520s in service. Pretty sure in about a month or so. I love the way these trucks sound, look, etc. Too bad all the cool trucks are getting phased out. Anyways, great video!

Man this truck seems to struggle on lines of only 2 carts, would be amazing to see this truck on post Christmas recycle in the palisades. Overall an awesome video!

It's been a while since the city ordered mini bodied Amreps, and they look real good with the 520 chassis. The only thing that is strange is the bent air intake filter on all the 520 chassis and the lack of a gated packer viewport. Expect them to be running in gated communities and mountain areas such as the Hollywood Hills and Studio City.
It’s been a long time I agree, they sure look nice. I found it weird when I saw that there was no way of seeing the packer through that small gate. I can’t wait till they are running in the North Central hills, I want to see if they will do better than the diesel or not. Thanks!

Wow this truck looks great in LA colors hopefully they’ll let us operate this beast at the open house. Glad it is flipping lids and surprised how fast it is since it’s brand new and why was the service truck there ? Great video definitely a favorite

Wow fun truck! I'm really surprised how much I like the looks of these minis. I guess most new trucks are enjoyable when they're all clean, not to mention fast like this one. Gotta love how quick the driver was. LA did an awesome job spec'ing these new trucks out. So glad they have good mirrors haha. Any idea how long this truck has been on route? Looks like it hasn't seen much route yet at all. Normally I'm not a huge fan of Petes with the visor but I think this one goes well with the chrome bumper and all. Awesome find and great job on the video!
I agree! I hope these units stay clean for a while haha, LA really made the right decision with those mirrors, the other ones suck big time. I’m assuming that this was its 4th or 3rd day in service. Thanks!
