I watched this and had to comment. I have a 2001 RSV and about 2 months back I had left my house to ride. 1 block down there's a stop sign. When I went to turn left, my bike stalled (I assumed it was due maybe to the motor being still somewhat cold and mine is carbureted) and since I was already turning left and had my feet up (I was barely moving and in first gear. When it stalled it stopped the bike immediately). In first gear and considering the compression on the motor it stopped it very quickly...so my bike went over until it caught on the motor crash bar (thank God for that). I didn't have time to catch it so when it stopped, I simply stepped off my bike. No damage was done and I got some help to stand it back up (I watched videos on TH-cam on how to stand these heavy touring bikes up when they are leaning over.. very helpful). Afterwards I looked at the crash bar on both sides and saw it was scratched on both sides so obviously I'm not the only person this has happened to. Just wanted to let you know I have experienced your "oops" moment myself. 😆
I think I put my gloves on and take them back off at least 3 times before finally riding. Get the key out of my pocket, look at my phone (touchscreen won't work with gloves on, secure the strap on my helmet...LOL
How are the RPMS at interstate speed?? 75mph or so. Now that I’ve ridden a 6 speed bike I can barely stand a screaming engine at 75mph. But I really want one of these !
JohnnyRebKy I have a 97 royal star and 5th gear is a high overdrive. These bikes make more power ina higher rpm range than v twins but when you are in 5th you are just cruising 75 plus in a lower rpm
I have a 2001 RSV. Mine doesn't have an rpm gauge so no idea. I know mine has a pretty distinct whine at highway speeds (I have heard this is due to the final drive gears being straight cut instead of angle cut). I rode the other day and was coming home running around 80 on the interstate. For some reason I was paying more attention to how loud it was and I even tried to upshift even though I knew I was in 5th gear (indicator light was on showing I was in high gear). Anyway this bike is very comfortable to ride. Cruise let's me rest my right hand on longer rides.
I have a 2005 and the whine is obnoxious up to 70, then disappears. Headphones or earplugs helps. Alot of riding is under 70 so I'd like to get some louder pipes to compensate.
It's a Royal Star Venture luggage rack I found on eBay. It gives the correct height so the box won't be seen as too high up as some after market bracket will cause.
I have the same bike, where did you get the tour pack? is that a Harley Davidson tour pack? I like the look of it on the back and have been thinking of doing the same to mine. The pipes sound good. I have BUB slip on pipes on mine and they are not neighbor approved! LOL! my next door neighbor hates my azz every time I fire the bike up LOL Other neighbors love it though, I have a neighbor 5 doors up from me who said he hears it when I start the bike and drive off and if he were 25-30 years younger, he'd buy one and ride with me! (He's 81 yrs old), another woman who lives around the corner told me she loves hearing the bike and loves my bike's look. I like it loud and obnoxious but hey to each his own. Beautiful bike guy, I want one of those packs like yours.

I see I'm not the only one who gets my glove 1/2 way on to remember my key is still in my pocket.

Haha same!
Cool sound! Nice bike.
Beautiful machine. I'm adding the king tour pack to my Roadstar, how did you wire the brake light bar to the bike?
I had one and I loved it.

I'm pretty sure those are bicycle riding gloves 😆🤘
Where did you get the mounting bracket for the box?

is that a royal star trunk mount?

I need to know about that trunk....HOT!
I dunno, but sounds a bit weak to me. And do something about that girlie background music too, man.
Orrr…let’s not be judgmental. Just a thought
