Many of these tunes are not in the category, whoever compiled this list has no idea about New Wave Bands, Joy Division Love will Tear Us Apart should of been included now that is a genuine New Wave Masterpiece, rest in peace The Great Late Ian Curtis

The bands doesn't have to be 100 percent exclusively "new wave". Many bands of various genres dabbled into new wave in the 80s; the same like the 70s with disco.

New Wave is more poetic and rocker than synthpop, but they are close cousins in some pieces.
