Still the best looking car ever built.
We like them too! Thanks for watching
excellent looking car, I own and drive a 1971 455ho trans am, so smooth to drive! One of the best loohing cars ever made. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from France
Cheers! Thanks for tuning in all the way over there!
Yes to me the 1970 to 1973 Formula is the most georgous car. The next cars i like is the 69 GTO convertable 4 sp and than the 68 ss rs camaro. But this is my favorite car of all time. The compliments I get everyday i take it out is wild.
My Favorite model I had a 76 T/A with the 455 HO black with a few different colors of a blue BIRD airbrushed with the tips of the wings coming down to the side mirrors it was bad ass looking and would haul ass with a HOLLEY 750 DBL PUMPER
It's a shame someone removed the original exhaust on such a low mileage car, beautiful otherwise. BTW... The RAIII all day over the 455HO... JMO.
Totally agree! The exhaust was swapped before we acquired this example, don't know the story there. Thanks for watchin!
Beautiful car. Your video brings back memories. In 1975 I traded a 1969 small block 4speed Corvette for a 1970 TransAm and $900. It was almost identical to the car in the video, except it had a beige interrior and a Hurst shifter with a T-handle. I got the car from a used car lot on West Colonial Drive in Orlando Florida that no longer exists. About a year into ownership I had to pull the heads due to a blown head gasket. Whoever owned the car before had put a set of roller rocker arms on it. That car was a blast. I pegged the speedometer one night on the way to the beach. I regret selling it.
What an awesome memory, thanks for sharing, and thanks for watchin!
Your video brings back a lot of memories!
A 10.1 compression 455 with roundport heads and a RA IV cam, the '70 TA would be the faster production car in 1970.
Would have been stellar!
That's a wow!! Bird.
How does it make sense that a car from the past looks like a car from the future even in 2024
It's a work of art
Such a beauty! Thanks for watchin!
All Pontiac big block engine you could interchange heads and intake even the 350 engine All but one 421 super duty
I own a 70' Firebird base model. No where near compares to The Trans-Am.
Thanks for watchin and subscribing! So much variance was put into those models back then, very good point.
I would definitely take that engine out and have it worked on.I had a 79 transam, and 75 would only like a 175 horsepower. These days, these cars are f******Put it out Five hundred 2 9 hundred horsepower
This one has been looked at by some local Pontiac gurus, she is making some fun power still! Thanks for watchin!
I had a 1985 Pontiac T A Turbo 301 c n motor turbo burned up at 35000 miles air cool put new one on had a quarter inch water line burned up at 55000 miles
Would have been fun! Thanks for watching!
I no this because daddy was benneville 455 man and 421 428 and now you no were l get my 428 motor form daddy
Thanks for watchin!
6:55 👍
Thanks for watching!
My good friend in high school bought a brand new 70 T/A....400 auto, white blue interior......5700 plus change..he had it up to 157mph and it had more to go...
Awesome story!
There's no way a 1970 T/A.....400 auto, could go 157 mph. The only way it could go 157 mph, is if the speedometer was off by 29 mph.😮
The gearing would not allow a speed of 157 mph, virtually impossible!😉
The 1970 T/A...400 auto would be red line at 128 mph on its best day.😳
Why is it blue on the turn table and aqua green on the highway?
Looks pretty blue to us! Thanks for watchin!
She's a beauty Mike. Love the race car like design inside and out. They don't make (many) cars like this any more. My 444 hp 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca has the turned aluminum dash panels and 8 ball shifter, Recarro seats and other goodies that also give it a very retro race car for the streets flavor.
Pretty hard to find now a days! Thanks for watchin!
Way-ta-go Mike. Another piece of Pontiac history to be proud of. Hoping some day you'll have a Bucky red, 73 SD 4 speed car for us to enjoy.
Thanks for posting.
Maybe one day! Thanks for watching!
I had a 428 Pontiac motor that I started to put in it
I think I saw 3 different last gen Pontiac G8's there - hopefully all were the M6 gxp.
One was! Thanks for watchin!
Love the video. I'm a Pontiac guy as well and have a 1970 T/A that has been turned into a restomod. For all of the purist out there I saved all of the original parts.🤩🥰
Right on, thanks for watchin!
Nice video Mike. Keep those Pontiac's rolling!! (Tom from RAMC)
I'll pass it on! Thanks for watchin!
Omg I want it
This car is for sale at the moment! See it at Throttlestop.com!
That may have been in the late models, friend of mine had a 76 that's what it had, I don't know maybe it was special order. At any rate I'd love to have this car, my brother had a 69 gto 400 4 speed 390 posi. Headers and position cammed it up alittle, that car was wicked fast.
Awesome story, thanks for watchin!
I had 2 1966 GTO and like both of them one of them third fastest car I ever had
Love it
Us too! Thanks for watching!
This is my dream car, in this spec and everything.
You've got good taste! She is a stunner, thanks for watching!
I hit the like button. Very nice
Hey thank you very much! It goes a long way believe it or not. Thank you again, cheers!
trust me the 400 ram air high compression was a much better motor than the 455 H.O.
We agree! Thanks for watchin!
It hard to compare a 10.25 comp 400 to a 8.4 compression 455. Even the playing field and the 455 would have ran circles around the 400.
@@MidnightinSavannah I agree! The 455 is a good engine. I own a 71 455ho, a beast!
@@MidnightinSavannahI owned both..70 4 spd and 71 auto….
The 70 was loud & rowdy….the 71 refined & powerful
455 torque is like a drug they haven’t created yet……
They also came with Oldsmobile 403.
Thanks for watchin! Didn't know you could get an Olds 403 in the Trans Am.
@@thethrottlestopI had the Olds engine in my 77. What a letdown. I had many birds, but to go back for just a day and drive the 70 455 H.O. T/A I let go in 75 would let me leave this earth with a smile. Never since has a car felt so enjoyable to me. They were the finest cars ever made as far as I was concerned.
I didn't think you had the Oldsmobile engine in a trans Am till 79, I could be wrong about that. Not sure what was what either way but there was some 400s and there was some 403 Oldsmobile engines.
not in 1970 to 76 the 403 was available in the 77 78 79 and it was a dog compared to the 400 or 455.
Amazing car!
Yes indeed! Thanks for watchin!
Man that's a sweet ride!! I got a 71 Firebird Formula 400 it may not be a Tran Am but man I love it.
Right on! Thanks for watchin! Sweet ride!
My sister's boyfriend had one in blue.Sam, exactly what you're talking about. And over here in Miami. There's one cruise in the streets.Love it
