Eto na ba makabagong version ng etag? Kasi parng pork jerky lang to. Mas gusto ko padin ung lumang pamamaraan. Ung ibababad talaga sa asin ng ilang araw bago pausukan or ibilad. Kasi sa ganon kontinh etag lang mapapalasa na nya ang sandamakmak na pinikpikan.
I thought after smoking the meat it can be eaten directly. But it was subjected to cooking along with a chicken so there is no need smoking process. Just cook it directly with other ingredients.
Hi Boss, I think you can consume it directly if you prefer too. It's just that we smoke the meat "etag" to preserve it for future consumption and use it sparingly as it adds powerful flavor and aroma to the dish. I have never seen someone from my place consume it directly (I may be wrong) maybe because we live in a colder climate, and we prefer hot meals specially soup. "Etag" is perfect for soup. I hope you will give it a try soon!
