Brought this app for a peanuts. It's packed full of useful data recording n others things. Pause mark, still a mystery to me but it's a 9/10 for me, better than anything else out there. Spent hundreds n hundreds 😭

Love this app. I use it with the, what's it called?.. ELM-327 style bluetooth OBDII adapter? I need to spend a bit more time figuring the chart out but I really enjoy watching the live data and picking and choosing what I want to see on each page and HOW I want them to appear. Half digital with min/max or half analog with the same, or full analog, full digital, along with all the other ways to view your live data.
I like seeing the MAF CFM. It's funny hopping into a 4 cyl 2012 civic and seeing it idle at 20CFM, then a 2000 Buick Lesabre and idle with 4-5x higher air flow lol. And seeing the differences the engines need to power the engine to move the cars at the same rate.
One odd thing I've noticed is that, even after setting up the correct stats for my 2012 Civic profile, it hits 120% Volumetric Efficiency at WOT lol. Which I BELIEVE is impossible. It's not VTEC. Just a base 130ish hp 1.8 liter. I'll have to test, again, because technically the redline is 6800RPM and I had originally set the profile to 6500RPM, not sure if that had anything to do with it. But it'll hit 120% Vol Eff at 3000RPM or whatever at WOT.
My 3800II V6 LeSabre can't go passed 80%. Something is wrong with it, though, it has a vacuum leak somewhere, and I'm assuming it's a blown intake gasket. Luckily it's blown on a part of it that doesn't let coolant in the oil. I am losing coolant through the exhaust, though.
    Time to sell that thing.

Does it allow to save graph data as CSV or similar? I would like to analyse it further.

Yes, you can export the saved data to a csv file

Hi, I've purchased the app since a long time ago. I've figured everything out, the app works like a charm.
What I need is some help with retrieving data for further charting/graphing on my PC - I need to look at the data on a bigger screen (I'm looking for tiny inconsistencies at MAP sensor functioning) and I also need to print out some of the graphs to show to the mechanic. Is there a way to retrieve the data in a useful format?

Hi, Glad to hear the app is working well for you. I am about to release a few enhancements and fixes soon for it. One way to do this is to use the "Load" function to review past saved trip files then use the "export" function to create .csv files with the MAP sensor data you are interested in analyzing. Then import the data into excel for analysis. Will that work for you?
Or, anther way is to parse the saved trip files (located in /.torque/RealtimeCharts/*.dat) with a program that you would write. The trip files have a very simple format (text files), just open one up with notepad. Happy to explain anything you might need help with.

How can I export data as csv?

    • @philiptrasatti5955
      @philiptrasatti5955  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You can export a recorded trip to a csv file using the three dots (overflow menu) when you have a trip session recorded or a saved trip session "loaded" as a chart. See built in help on first screen in the overflow menu area for more app features. Reach out if you have an issues. Also, look at my Facebook app page! - Phil

Try reading the wiki. It's chock full of all sorts of useful information regarding the Torque application.

You give no instructions on how to make the chart look like this. My charts are all flat lines down bellow, and one line legible above, completely useless. Most people never get very far with serious engine data analysis and so they are impressed with basics. I need to see all sensor data displayed in a graphical format. Impossible to get this graphical app to display properly. The default should be a legible graph display where you don't need to program the app. The programmer should already have the display set up and/or give instructions on how to set it up so that your x axis doesn't display everything on the bottom of the screen and completely flat lined.. I would advise others to spend extra on a software that doesn't take 16 hours of your time and gets you nowhere.. You are going to waste more money in gas than had you just purchased some more professional software. .

Hi - Sorry you are having problems getting started here. There's an extensive help preference in the app under the settings icon (gear icon) that explains how to set up charts and use the app, etc. Setting up and tweaking your charts is very easy and should only take a few minutes. Take a look at that information. Also, there's more help on my Facebook page for "Realtime Charts for Torque Pro". The x-axis is only time for the main chart (like the one shown in this video). But you can also create scatter plots to see sensor vs. sensor and to have selected sensor on the x and y axis. Perhaps that's the mode you are interested in.
Try one of the sample charts that is pre-installed for you and try changing the setting and sensor on it.. Note, you can "scale" each sensor independently to make them easier to see and compare, that's the trick that you may be missing. Use the scaling attribute in the engine sensor setup preference list to change the scaling of each sensor. You can scale by factors of 10. Send me email at realtimechartsapp@gmail.com if you need more help. Definitely want to help you out and get you using the app. Sounds like you have some interesting projects going on. Thanks, Phil

I did as you suggested and the app is extremely difficult to get working properly. It should save settings, or have save settings pop up. Also, the screen where you select what you want to do doesn't explain what the icons do, You need to have a pass over pop up explain what the icon is for.. Making a simple configuration is extremely time consuming. This app should be free until you get it more user friendly.

Okay, the action bar icons (see play store screenshots) have text descriptions which are on by default in the settings. You must have changed that option along the way by mistake. I could see how that could make the app harder to use. Try turning the "Show icons with text" setting on for now. Send me email at realtimechartsapp@gmail.com so I can help you get started. Thanks, Phil

I could spend 3 hours of my time showing you how completely impossible it is to do anything useful with your app. As with every software developer & app developer, you will reap the financial rewards from my efforts and I will receive nothing. Make a better app, stop blaming me for your horribly conceived app.

Send me your google play store order id number for the app purchase and I will refund you the $2.49 since the app is not helping you.
