Love how dismissive , rude and confrontational Tommy is,.. when the local tried to help him order a coconut he sarcastically said " I know how to order a coconut in Hindi actually", it's a continual theme in his videos, .. abrasive , dismissive and rude, ..proper new Yorker
You’re right, I didn’t like the way I said that either as it didn’t come out the way I wanted it to. That’s why one of the very next things I said was that I was grateful for his help. Tbh, I’ve been here for over a month now and certain things are starting to wear on me. Of course there’s the obvious things that need not be listed. But even less obvious things, such as just immediately after two seconds people saying / thinking “foreigner, therefore communication barrier / breakdown” when it’s such a simple interaction that verbal language need not even be used. The vendor was selling one item, pointing is sufficient. Also, babying foreigners in situations where it isn’t necessary. I certainly recognize that the fellow was only trying to help, and he was a very nice fellow indeed. But smaller matters such as these, which aren’t as obvious, do also get frustrating over time as well. That’s why I would like letting foreigners try to sort things out for themselves first to be more normalized, rather than just going straight to the babying after two seconds being the status quo. It’s a bit difficult to navigate these conflicting goals / thoughts in real time, so again you’re right that I was at first short with him accidentally and unintentionally. I’m still working on how to navigate certain situations. Easy to talk about, harder to do in real time. Last thing I’ll say is that basically no foreigners say / show their actual truth about India (among many other places and topics) in a true and balanced way. Pretty much everyone says some rehearsed, kumbaya, saccharin sweet hallmark card about how everyone is so kind, caring, etc. Which isn’t wrong, it just loses its meaning over time if it’s constantly repeated as a means of virtue signaling. Which is a shame, because those things are true and deserve to be pointed out when they actually occur. I will show my truth, which yes of late includes increasing frustration at smaller / more trivial / harder to predict things such as the matter we are discussing. I do genuinely believe that someone finally showing their actual truth in these situations is useful as it will lead to conversations which haven’t been had yet and ideas which haven’t quite been shared openly. If you or anyone wants to dislike or hate me for that, then that’s fine. But I am genuinely trying. Thank you for your comment. Despite it not being a positive topic, you're right to call me out on this matter. And hopefully at least some who read what I've written can understand where I'm coming from on the matter as well. All the best.
Your honesty and candid reply does you credit, having travelled India extensively over 25 years I feel your frustration and despair at times, it wears you down, inch by inch,.. I have followed your posts and love them, it's refreshing stuff on the whole ,.. don't let India become a grind , when it is, it is time for Goa Kerala or gokarna
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experience as well. Indeed, after this Northeastern segment I think a beach trip would have a relaxing and calming effect. Had never heard of Gorkala before, will have to read about it now. Thanks again :)
Actually the thing is in Guwahati and other parts of Assam, people mind their own business and they dont stare at foreigners that much like they do in Northern parts of India. They give you privacy, but they will help you if you need anything and ask them. The people here are very chill as compared to northern India.

Bro I like your video very much I like to see that you are a foreigner experiencing our Indian natural and bloge it and all your blogs I watch every video.
As I said in the subtitle, I wanted to shop around a bit more. If I hadn’t found a different vendor cutting open a clearly high quality coconut as I was walking past, I probably would’ve returned back to the original vendor
that coconut was not bad at all, its just a scar on the outer skin of the coconut, thats all going to be thrown away anyway 😅 havent u seen a coconut being peeled.
As I said in numerous other comments, I went to walk around to see what different vendors had. The next vendor was cutting open a clearly high quality coconut. If I hadn’t come across him, I probably would have returned to the original vendor

If you want to explore natural beauty, the landscape you should visit arunachal pradesh some parts of arunachal is similar to tibetan landscape, meghalaya is another state have similar landscape like scotland with vibrant waterfalls, caves & lots of nature activity, for culture & food, it's nagaland, assam & mizoram... There are lots of wildlife sanctuaries & national parks located in assam, the biggest river island & the smallest inhabitat river island also in assam...
If you get tited of this heat, you might want to visit himalayan states like ladakh, jammu Kashmir, uttarakhand , himachal paradesh, sikkim or north part of west bengal.
