    Yay power to the rails! Kato track is so nice to work with, so easy to get everything up and running. Looking forward to the next update!

    Roy, the renovations at Evanston are coming along nicely. Great job with the wiring. I too like the barrier strip method. I like the Katy switches with the built in switch motors, very ingenious. Thanks for sharing. Ken

    It's looking good Roy. I agree with you that successfully completing a wiring job can be a satisfying experience. The key is planning the job out in advance and assembling the materials and tools needed before starting. Art...

    At $5 per package for uni joiners, I think I'd learn to solder. Regardless, I enjoy seeing how others do their track wiring. Thanks again for the interesting video. I surely enjoy the drive by at the end of the video. The scenery you installed to camouflage the tunnel really makes a difference and is looking darn good!

    Well done Roy, you make it look so easy. KATO track is what I prefer as well, and no ballast required. Although my current project layout utilizes sectional and flex track with cork road bed. Thanks for sharing. 👍 👍 👍

    Love it, Roy! I use Kato Unitrack as well and it works a treat...wiring and changes. I know you like to manually throw your turnouts...I did learn recently that you can program several switches together so that with one push you can make the two switches in the back go at once. Pretty cool. Thanks again, Roy! John

      where did you see how to wire two switches together would you share with me

    • @johngrady3492
      @johngrady3492 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      william russ it is a video on programming the turnouts together (not wiring them together). Where i saw it was on model railroader video plus in the building of the Canadian Canyons project railroad. There are likely other videos on You Tube.

    I remember back in the day when I was using DC to run trains. Even my simple 5x9 HO scale layout had a huge panel to hold all of the block toggles and the turnout controls.

    Well, that Kato Unitrack sure makes short work of adding drop feeders - I'm starting to see why you like it. Best, John

    I have used same approach but am reconsidering. Why are you powering every yard track? I am thinking that Kato power rating turnouts may have logic.

  • @steve87thpsap
    @steve87thpsap 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kato does make it look easy. What’s nice is many of the N Scale working components, like the feeders, switch throws, extensions etc are exactly the same for HO. You don’t have to ensure you have the right scale. Just wish they would come out with more HO speciality track and bridges like in N Scale. Thanks for the video.

    Roy thank you for the information. I'd like to know if you've made any videos on selection and control of a layout? Is there a way to control your entire layout with 1 transformer, 1 controller, and is there any need for a separate power and control of all your layout switching?
    I enjoy your content, and your enthusiasm for N scale trains. Thank you for sharing your passions and knowledge with my wife and myself.

    Hey Roy love the yard and was wondering if the double throw turnouts can be used to switch trains back and forth

    I absolutely love your videos and your layout is top notch I am actually in the process of building a layout well it's in the planing part I do have a question though my layout is going to be 4x8 I will be running n scale my question is I have a Canadian national fpa4 a and b unit set with about 12 passenger cars I'm not sure the layout length will be long enough for that train I dont want the train to be kissing its rear end also what curve should I go with so when the train comes around the corner it looks prototypical

    Hi Roy, loved the Kato wiring demonstration :) A question for you and the US model railroad community. Here in Europe the double slip (double switch and not double crossover) is very common at stations and yards. Even sometimes on main lines when branching out. But in the US you hardly see them used, neither in RL or in model railroad layouts. Is it due to the complicated technical /maintenance nature or reliability of the double slip? It seems to me that a lot of US yards could have even longer tracks with the usage of double slips, a great space saver that also avoid many of the dreaded snake movements (trains driving to new tracks in yards via double right or left opposing single switches) There must be more to it in Roys case using Kato track than the fact Kato does not produce a n scale double slip? :)

    Can you power the KATO Turnouts with other controls, other than the KATO Turnout Control Device?
    Do you run the Double Track Unitrack for the Main Line where possible or individual pieces of Unitrack Parallel to each other, or combination of the two?
