    Here's an insane theory. Art is sienna's dad. He died In the fire and got resurrected as art. He was preparing her to kill him in case he went rampant. Remember, they said earlier that the dad was at one point going crazy, getting violent and seeing things. Art was the only one that could see little girl art , yet somehow sienna and her brother we're able to see her as well 🤔

      @joseayala8506 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      This was actually a pretty obvious theory that I caught on throughout the movie. Also the drawings found by his son were Art’s victims. I saw another review where the dude says he didn’t like how they gave a bunch of clues but at the end it doesn’t explain anything. But it clearly lets you know there’s a sequel so Im pretty sure these theories will be revealed. Maybe he left as soon as the credits rolled and didn’t catch the additional scene

    You Two are so damn intelligent when you talk! ( so jealous.) You can reference a tiny part of a movie scene, music score , or character from the film, and then reference that..to something I've never heard of before, or a name I never knew of.. and just keep it rolling.. like it's just coming off the top of your head!? LOL.. I LOVE IT! I can't believe it.. But I love it! You guys are great! 💯💯💯

    I think that there’s so much more that could be done for the plot of the movie, because the Terrifier, as a character is pretty awesome. But I think these movies are just the definition of torture porn. You have naked or half naked women getting brutalized as much as possible. And yes, there’s men of course, but truly, it’s just more about how graphic you can make the kills versus having an actual plot.

    • @yennefer440
      @yennefer440 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I think these movies are just supposed to be for those torture porn fans. The plot doesn't matter, the company that produced the film even said we want to make movie that aren't made anymore 🙄

    • @jonrunning2848

  • @corcor1122
    @corcor1122 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    Also, I think this movie needed a scene with the dad. If he showed up during her clown cafe dream even to give us like 2 minutes of dialouge, some puzzle pieces would have fit together much more neatly.

    • @joseayala8506
      @joseayala8506 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think Art is the dad. They mention who he was going crazy and getting violent and abusive. Then died in that fiery car crash. I think Art from the first Terrifier wasn’t human, but rather a resurrected manifestation as the dad’s psychotic side.. He could’ve easily killed Sienna and her brother.. He was “easy” on them and by “easy” I mean he didn’t do what he did to his other victims.

  • @georganner2271

    I really liked the first Terrifier...horror is my favorite genre (**squee** something in common with Joseph) but really the gore was almost too much for me so I was happy to be able to get the full synopsis of the sequel here (won't be watching it)...much appreciated guys...and as always so many good lines in this review...'Marcel Marceau playing one of the Insane Clown Posse'...and the great rapport these two have illustrated so sweetly with Nick saying "it's better than Hocus Pocus 2" and Nick just laughing about how "those are two very different movies"...but I dunno I think I remember them saying they were in the front row for all this bloody carnage? (maybe it was mentioned in a different review) and that coupled with Joseph commenting on Art serving candy out of a woman's severed head..."that was funny" makes me think these dudes have a dark side...or maybe I should just say they're 'multifaceted'...one of Nick's awesome words...

      I would’ve loved if there was a scene where the lights go out and he pops up behind someone to kill them. Maybe shining a flashlight on his face? That would’ve been cool. I needed that extra tension because it was all pretty straight forward.

    Damien was very ambitious with this project. The story was decent, definitely leaves us with more questions than answers. Art was great, even my one friend who litteraly hid her face for a good 75% of the movie found him hilarious. The kills in this movie were just 👌🏼👌🏼, Allie my god poor Allie, that girl deserves an award just for acting out that scene alone 🤣😂🤣

    Thanks for the review guys, the actress is lovely. I thought after a few of the kills they started to be similar, the bedroom scene and first scene were the most graphic to me. It should have been shorter, I feel like they can do Terrifier 3 inside the asylum with the original victim from part 1 plays the killer😂 Great review and please do a review on upcoming Halloween and also black adam thanks!

    Here is my guess on Art’s mythology…Art the Clown is a cannibalistic serial killer demon from hell. And the final girl is an Angelic Warrior incarnated on Earth to stop him from going on his killing sprees, feasting on his victims n sending souls to hell. Maybe her dad is a psychic n saw her daughter as the angelic warrior. And Art needed to eliminate threats like her.

    Thank you gents very much for a thoughtful and concise review. You were pretty much spot on with your review. I really did enjoy the movie overall, and I did like the 1st Terrifier! I do enjoy Art the Clown and the lore of his character, but was left w/ some of the same questions you both were. I have a feeling there will be a 3rd Terrifier film, and all (most) of our questions (hopefully) will be somewhat answered. 😆
    While I'm not a huge fan of brutality in films, I did appreciate your recap of the kills in T2... because after a few of them, I kind of "tuned them out/went into a cinematic numbness". Now I can appreciate how much violence there actually was in this movie... it was BRUTAL!!

    It’s interesting that the franchise has gained traction… from an initial small following . The film makers used to do conventions. Very accessible people involved which made it interesting. It’s the little horror film that could. I didn’t like the first one …but admire the work that went into it.
    Marcel Marceau was in Silent Movie in 1976… he was the only person who spoke

    I actually liked the film. My theater was packed. I had no idea Art The Clown had such a following. I do agree that it was a bit too long. The Clown Cafe dream sequence went on longer than expected. The final act felt like it was 45 mins. Even the mid-credit Chris Jericho scene was like 10 mins. That being said I’d recommend to anyone who likes these types of movies. The director said that this was the Unrated, Uncut version of the film. Hence the 2hr 18 min run time ?

    I have a hunch Damien Leone was watching the Friday the 13th box set a lot during the writing process. Wakes up in the morgue right after the previous flick (part 4), protagonist being pretty teenager, nerdy brother, and mom who dies (again, part 4), dead father’s bizarre connection to killer (part 7) and mysterious sword or dagger to kill the monster (Jason Goes to Hell).

  • @gdaversa19

    Love your guy's reviews as always. I agree with a lot of the points here. That 3rd act was WAY too long and I think that entire clown show scene could have been removed. I do think a lot of the kills while brutal were somewhat hokey. As far as trying to understand a story here it's just all over the place, the whole thing of the premonition and the magical sword thing just seemed out of place. Overall, Art is the star of the show, and he doesn't disappoint, if there was another killer here the movie is just meh. Leone needs to hire an editor for a part 3. Cheers :)

    i feel like the movie was trying to saying something about celebrating serial killers in media and the deaths were so gruesome to show that they are not to be celebrated. they're sadistic and cruel and horror movies tend to paint a more digestible/likable and entertaining villain like Freddy Krueger.

My family loves martyrs, and I just couldn't take it almost from the get go. I can take some gore and plenty of creepy. I love horror, especially reading it. My very favorite genre, except for torture and kills of animals, actually torture of any kind. Ugh. Maybe I'm just too sensitive for this stuff. Honestly if it comes up in books, I just skip over those parts. I just can't take it. 😩

    It was too long to still leave important unanswered questions. The 2 hrs and 18 minutes would have felt more earned and justified if we at least got a satisfying explanation for the little girl clown and the connection between Art, Sienna and her dad. Instead it gave us a lot more kills that take too long and a REALLLLLY long final showdown where Jonathan is annoyingly useless the whole time. It could have been shaved down to 90 minutes.

    I don't know about anyone else, but I thought the movie was hilarious more than anything else. Idk if I'd call it "torture porn" just based on it being so absurdly ridiculous that it becomes comedic more than it is scary or frightening. Every single kill except the opening and the main girls flbest friend had everyone on my theater, including myself, quite literally laughing our ass off. The laundromat scene, the main kid's moms scene, the "just the tip" kill, and the costume store sequence were particularly amusing. I agree it's about 15-20 minutes to long, and I wish Chris Jericho could've had a gnarly death. But still, overall I think it
    does what it does well enough, and I'm sure it's destined to become a cult classic.

      I would’ve loved if there was a scene where the lights go out and he pops up behind someone to kill them. Maybe shining a flashlight on his face? That would’ve been cool. I needed that extra tension because it was all pretty straight forward.

    Plot twist her Pop's is actually Art. I mean his body was taken over by some evil entity first feeding on his grudges about kids that unintentionally killed him. After he gets beaten in T1 and resurrected the evil takes over complete control starting killing in a undiscriminating manner. Note that there's no mention if her fathers body was found. We only know he presumably died in a car accident. But if that's was the actual cause? I would introduce that as a plot twist in the next movie. We know nothing about what her dad did for living. Now imagine him being a paty clown for a side gig... Then the Terrifier 1 happens.

    Everyone thinks Art the Clown is the Dad but it’s not. They should have went with it.

    This is the best review of this movie, that I've seen. I don't mind spoilers for Terrifier 2 😂 it's not like it's Infinity War or Endgame. Great review.
    Funny. I posted this comment right before yall made fun of Marvel movies lol

    I’m extremely happy for whoever loves this movie and I’m happy to see it do so well. I’m a huge fan of horror but I get pretty squeamish with torture porn and gore so the odds of me seeing this (at least without me covering my eyes) is very very low.

      This video was a premiere, so the transcript from the live chat is available. However, I’ll just say that I was triggered because I used to do Bonnie Aaron’s hair.

    I liked ALL HALLOW'S EVE and TERRIFIER okay, but this one fell short. It was a bloated, bloody, gory mess, literally and figuratively speaking. It was not scary at all. I think that if we could know Art's background and motivation then maybe it would be more compelling, but in none of the films Art is featured in do we know why he is doing all this. He just kills people indiscriminately and keeps going to kill some more. I think with this installment, the little girl that accompanied him (which I believe was one of his past victims) could hold some keys to Art's psyche and motivations as to why he does what he does. So I guess if you like long, bloody, gory, mindless violence, then this is the movie for you. I read that a TERRIFIER 3 was in the works. I just hope that this will be the very last one and that it will provide some backstory for Art. I think in this movie with the story of the dad who committed suicide and the sketchbook and how Art was linked to Sienna and Jonathan by way of the sketches and the sword, that this was the start of opening up the psychological makeup and reasonings behind Art's actions.

    I think you guys might relate to Grumpy Old Men, more😂 and Im probably around your age. This movie was good and it takes a lot for me to say that about these types of movies. The terrifying part is when he's standing there stalking them. It was well done, could have done without the fantastical stuff at the end.
