    Thank's Trav.... I'm a 73 yearold guy in Northern NY. I'm building out a 159 Promaster too. Thanks for the PlayDooh tip 👍🧙‍♂️

    Alternate to Playdoh: Make transfer punches as follows. Get some bolts that fit the rivnuts and some nuts that fit the bolts. Cut the head off the bolts leaving essentially a piece of threaded rod. Grind a point on one end of each one then install two nuts on each rod so the point is just sticking through the nuts. Lock the two nuts together. Now screw one of your transfer punches in each rivnut and press the board against the rivnuts which should leave a mark on the backside. The transfer punches can then be removed using the nuts you have jammed together.

    I just have to say as a filmmaker, that intro montage was just too saucy lol. Awesome video!

    Hey there! Thanks for your thorough easy to understand instructions. Two questions as I’m figuring out how to do this.. why did you put horizontal firring strips up rather than just putting the vertical directly into the van supports? Also.. did you have to bend the vertical firring strips in order for them to drill into the bottom horizontal strip (ie.. the walls are slightly bowed right?)? Thanks!

    Great video and super work! Watching this process, I understand so much more as to why it cost a lot to have someone do the work. Hang in there. It'll be your home done your personal way.💙

    Awesome job! Would you mind telling me why you chose to do the rivets instead of just using self tapping metal screws and going right into the metal supports?

    • @TravTravels
      @TravTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I saw others doing the same online and liked the idea of utilizing the existing holes in the Promaster rather than making a bunch of new ones. I actually did end up using a few self tapping metal screws in the top corner pieces and tops of the vertical studs. Also plan to use them for the ceiling furring strips

    Great video....One question....we just finished framing one side of our Promaster 2500, really similar to how you did yours.....and are wondering if we are taking up too much bed space with 2 1x3 attached to each side. Did you end up having any issue with the length of your bed, assuming you are sleeping crosswise along the van

    • @TravTravels
      @TravTravels  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Thank you, yes I put a lot of consideration into this. While my bed faces along the passenger side wall (and not crosswise) I was still considerate about the space left for the aisle / cabinets. I don’t notice it shrinking the space all that much.
      I even had very experienced van builders (far far more than me, actual professionals) tell me they loved the way I did it and would likely do the same in the future.
      Hope that helps! ✌🏻

    Heyy, for the 10-24 and the M8 what size screws did you use?!

    • @TravTravels
      @TravTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used 10-24 / M8 hex bolts

    • @TravTravels
      @TravTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they were about 1" in length if thats what you meant

    Hi there, I enjoy this video that help me throughout the process of my van conversation. But, can anyone please help me with a DIY? I am looking to find out how to install my cable wires to my alternator to get 220v. I have a 2021 ProMaster 2500 series 159w base with a 220v alternator built in, but I haven’t found a video showing this type of installation. Can you please direct the information to my attention. Thank your so much ahead of time. I will post a video on my installation once I get the info.

    Hi, great video! By chance do you happen to remember what size screws go into the M8 and 10-24 rivet nuts, i am having a hard time with that part
