My favorite thing about Yoimiya is that, during this story quest, if you listen to the dialogue when running between quest points... She actually asks Aether if he's found his sister. When Paimon tells her what happened, she offers genuinely optimistic words of encouragement. Suggesting that, at journey's end, surely he and his sister will come together once more. "You're siblings, after all."
Nobody else has done that for Aether. Seems like everybody else just focuses on their own journey, but Yoimiya is such a genuinely caring person that she asks after Aether, too.

I cried with this. My brother was unable to walk since a very young age, an he died a few years ago, being only 24. Seeing that child running and being happy is how I like to imagine him now, running and jumping all over. In fact, I actually dreamed last night with us playing when we were children.
This is the type of content and feeling that we play Genshin for. I felt so touched and moved by this story, that I even pulled for Yoimiya, and somehow I got her within only one 10 pull. Now, every time I play with her, it will be like I’m playing with my brother too

@@ridwanahmed1793 no, he was older than me for a few years. His sickness began when he was around 9, or 10 iirc. And slowly he lost his ability to walk. I’ll be turning 24 in less than two years by now. His sickness was a genetic one, so accepting the fact that I never developed the symptoms, while my brother did was such a mental struggle. I used to feel very guilty about it, but fortunately I was able to overcome that thought. It was also a constant fear for my parents, until I turned 18. And even so, when I say that my legs are hurting, they feel an intense fear.
I am not an emotional person... but when Arashani took Avin's hand and she stood up and started to walk I legit got teary-eyed.
Maybe it's just a cutscene from a videogame but I think it shows very well the human spirit and our will to press forward despite the odds.

Someone working for Hoyoverse must love Yoimiya so much that she had 3 reruns and 2 story quests. This story quest is one of the best though!
That guy needs to go right into the team that does the kits and those that decide banners, slap them with a newspaper and ask for justice.
Such a beautiful character, the best personality, I know others might find her gameplay boring but I love playing her and the fresh feeling of a cheerful and non drama ridden character, I wish I could use her more in my teams :S

Well, 3 re-runs is rather common nowadays, several characters have had 3-4, even 5 featured banners, but getting a second story quest? Now that is pretty telling. Used to be only Archons would get a second story quest, with the notable exception of Venti, and that made sense because Archons are heavily involved in the deeper lore of the world and the main plot of the story. Also, I think it's fair to say all Archons are pretty popular with the community.
But now Yoimiya, of all people, perhaps one of the least relevant characters to the over-arching story of Genshin Impact, a character with no special origins, no hidden secrets to tie her back to the deeper lore of the world, driven only by the humble ambitions of a business owner who wants to make people happy by creating pretty fireworks, THAT person gets the royal treatment of a second story quest before a plethora of characters who will most likely end up being far more plot-relevant in the long run, such as Xiao, Keaya, Tartaglia, Diluc, Albedo, Mona, Ayato, etc. Consider that Genshin has actual century/millennia old magical warriors and schemers, people who went into the abyss and back, people who are descended from the founder of the Abyss Order, astrologists, alchemists and witches who are likely to stumble upon deep dark secrets of the world at some point, so many of these characters are perfectly set for some earth-shattering 2nd rounds of story quests. 3 years we've been waiting for any non-archons to get one. And who gets it first?
Yoimiya. Inconsequential yet pure-hearted little Yoimiya.
Suffice to say she wouldn't have been my first candidate for 2nd story quest. But hey, as a Yoimiya main since her release, I ain't complaining. That quest was beautiful and heartwarming. Completely optional, yet worth every second I spent on it. And the music in the final cutscene as always did not disappoint. Genshin once again delivering a 10/10 on the musical front.

The idea for Yoimiya to come to Sumeru was brilliant, because in Sumeru children were 'forced' to grow up and forget their childhood memories while there was Yoimiya, an adult who could understand the thoughts of children. As a Yoimiya main since her first banner, I'm really happy because Hoyo gave her the best and wholesome cutscene ✨
For real. This and Yun Jin’s opera cutscene are my favorites.

Yoimiya was the first 5* I wished for. I started playing Day 1, and told myself I was going to save my primogems until Dendro came out. I used the same team for the first 10 months of the game (did minimal wishing (less than 100)) and that's when Yoimiya came out, and I decided to wish for her. A fun and easy On-field DPS :)
I want to be a Yoimiya main, but she has yet to come home to me. And I'm worried that now I'll lose my 50/50 because I've won so many already in a row.
I love how Yoimiya is the only human character in the game with a normal and happy life. She is not a big celebrity like Barbara, not rich like Ningguang, and not as politically powerful as Ayato. She is a nobody compared to them but nevertheless she has a complete family and her happiness is genuine unlike others who live a problematic and complicated life. That’s why she is the best girl.
The truth is that making fireworks is very profitable.
I mean there are more than a few of them whoever fit that role. Quite a few sumeru individuals like nilou.

I’m a disabled person, and I’m often really hesitant with depictions of disabled people in media being the “charity case” for protagonists. I was initially very concerned about where this quest was gonna go and whether or not it was going to be about us feeling “sorry” for her. This quest almost went there on a couple of occasions, but I have to say that I’m quite impressed with how it turned out. Just like how Yoimiya wasn’t disappointed that it was “just a dream”, the girl was encouraged not to be “disappointed” with waking up to reality. I think in many ways the quest dodged an awkward bullet here, and I’m glad that the lesson wasn’t that there was something “wrong” with her disability, but her perspective itself. The story made me cry.
Agreed. I really love how Avin was so well characterized in such a short amount of time. Seeing how quickly they've had to mature due to their disability, the commentary on how limiting a disability can make your world and worldview due to being deprived of so many experiences, and how Avin had to mourn their typical childhood experiences that the disability took away from them... it all felt very real, and was handled with dignity. This cutscene was so dreamy... straight out of a Ghibli film. Also cried.
This was arguably one of my favourite cutscenes in the entire game. It was so beautiful thank you so much Genshin Impact for such a magical adventure

When the Aranaras willingly show themselves to adult characters, that's when you'll know how pure-hearted the characters are.

This story quest was such a nice peaceful respite from the bittersweet tragedies of the past character quests and world quests. The lore has been heavy in the desert and Baizhu along with most sumeru characters had quests with heavier themes so having Yoimiya give us a happy quest was something we needed. The calm before the inevitable storm that is Fontaine, the nation right below Celestia...
@@user-yuuleie I guess it could've been because it was in a dream and the aranara didn't really bother with the real life details they draw the locations from. Also I recall a scene during some dialog in the quest where they suspiciously framed Celestia right next to yoimiya when she said something about the past and the future. I don't know if that was on purpose or just coincidence.

There were so many little details introduced about the true nature of this world, the sky and stars, disguised in a sweet little story quest. Like a little moment of purity against the backdrop of an allusive, deceiving world. Still hoping for the story to up it's game and start making everything come together, they've already given us so many plot points and factions

Considering Nahida is the God of Wisdom and had access to Irminsul, she probably read a lot of information regarding Yoimiya ever since she entered Sumeru and even confirming those facts from the Traveler. She knows that Yoimiya is a kind-hearted person and wants to help us realize her dream.

This quest feels like an actual vacation, such a feel-good quest. Yoimiya’s bubbly and kind personality really shines well throughout the story. This cutscene is an absolute masterpiece - makes me become tear-eyed every single time I watch it.

This is why I love so much to play Genshin Impact!!!, this is the main reason why I think it is worth to pay for this game, it's not all about to get as much 5 star characters as you can, nor to get the most powerful weapons and artifacts; it's the plot, the beautiful cutscenes, the masterly music, the majestic landscapes, the characters' development that makes this game so wonderful, it's the real soul of the game.
Please Hoyoverse!!, keep improving!!, you have a gem in your hands, bring to this beautiful game the same amount of love that you bring to the Honkai series, every time you do the things right like this you bring a lot of happiness to thousands around the world, you remind us that human beings not only commit atrocities, we can also create really beautiful things, we can do better every day.

This story quest was one of the best Ive ever played, is different to other characters story quest where the main plot is "Hey traveler, help me solve this problem" or "Help me defeat this bad guy" almost every story quest is like that, Nahida quest, Eula quest, Alhaitham quest, Zhongli quest, Raiden quest, etc, and Yoimiya have this story quest where the main plot is "Hey, wanna go and chill and enjoy sumeru?" Thats what we needed, and Yoimiya is the best character to this story quest since she's a totally kindhearted person
All these years playing the game, nothing made me emotional other than this story quest. Yoi definately the best girl.

It can be good or bad. Genshin content are not always consistent, but I'll give their story quality ratio if 70:30 from good and bad

@@FireBlueZ Sumeru area design, archon quests and story quest was definitely a improvement from previous nations. So they have to raise the bar with equal quality content if not better for people to be interested in fontaine and beyond. And knowing how successful genshin is it's kinda hard to not get hyped for fontaine.

this quest absolutely killed me, in the most positive way possible. This cutscene was so powerful, I was in a wheelchair for half a year, I'm lucky enough to be walking again at least for the most part. I remember how scary that time was for me, seeing Avin take those small and wobbly steps killed me, this quest and cutscene hit so hard, it was gorgeous. I hope that if we ever see Avin the future there's a chance we can see her walking, even just a short distance

You know, this character quest alone reminded me of why I keep coming back to Genshin-the moments like these where characters really shine through with their stories. I was absolutely blown away by this cutscene, was not expecting such an amazing story quest for 3.7. Beautiful stuff, hoyoverse.
This scene brought tears to my eyes. As we grow older, we often forget to embrace the pure joy of carefree happiness and appreciate the simplest things amidst the chaos of life. Yoimiya's story quest beautifully conveys the importance of fantasy and maintaining a childlike sense of wonder. It perfectly embodies her vibrant and optimistic nature as the Red Nara. I absolutely adored this quest!
The prettiest star who was shining in the sky in that moment, was Yoimiya.
I watched this like 13 times now, and i could really never get over it, its so cool and is the best Story Quest ever, i thought raiden's story quest is on top, but Yoimiya was a banger of a story quest and is so cool especially this cutscene. Also, a Nahida cameo really made it complete!
The reflect of the stars exploding like fireworks in the eyes of Yoimiya when she was falling was beautiful.
My younger brother has a wheelchair and cannot walk, seeing this video he felt so happy and said that one day he will try walking and I will help him in every way possible

As a disabled person. This cutscene absolutely broke me. Being free to enjoy something you used to be able to do is something I wish I could do too, even if it was in a dream
the song in this cutscene is superb. Welldone Hoyoverse, your cutscenes and songs for them are always on point.
And let's be honest, Nahida is the kindest archon ever, this was all her... helping someone else she doesn't even know or ever met, just for the sake of helping them reach their dream
I would say in both morax and venti are as kind as nahida, they are just, well older, less motivated... So they only give them all when its needed
@@forstuffjust7735 Nahida/Rukkhadevata probably have greater empathy due to their link to Irminsul. They are in a way connected to everyone in teyvat. Plus let's not forget Rukkhadevata created the aranaras, she really wants the best for eveyone in teyvat.
I do agree still that Zhongli and Venti are compassionate though, as you put it, they're less motivated.
This cutscene makes Yoimiya SQ2 the best Story Quest of all time and you can't change my mind.

Adding the soft piano version of her theme was such an incrdible touch. As a Yoimiya haver since her first banner, this felt like such an amazing and deserved story quest. Especially because of the banners that followed (or were before) her and made people skip. This made up for that big tome and was truly beautiful.

This is an Archon quest-level cutscene. So beautiful 🥹
Yoimiya as a character is interesting. Aside her role during the Sakoku decree (where she aids those with vision), she is by all the time just a normal artisan (with vision). She doesn't have any tragic back story or big responsibility to fufill. She is just a girl who does what she likes, like any girls at her age. It is also refreshing when the story also revolves around the people that she interacted but not in a grand kind of scheme
Not only that, but she also seems to be one of the more genuinely empathetic characters in writing execution. Like one of the most genuinely human in terms of her writing, very little of her writing feels plot contrived or artificial, she's one of the most natural and genuine written characters in this game.
I felt like a child watching a fairytale, the BGM also helped in getting into that mood.
That was one of the most heartwarming, touching scenes i´ve ever seen in GI. Im not that emotional, but this was the first scene ever in a game, i had to cry. My brother is disabled since he was born and his only wish is to be able to walk. So thank you HOYO for this scene.
This whole quest is really beautiful.

Probably not in terrm of animation. But when it comes to story pacing, I can't promise you much. Ufotable are great at making anime, but when it comes to adapting game story, they done it mid in most case.

This felt as magical as a Disney movie to me. It had a nostalgic vibe of pure innocent joy and fun and I WANT MORE. Easily one of the best story quests, Yoimiya will forever be my favorite character in Genshin!
Finally completed this quest, and I am absolutely floored by how... wondrous this whole quest was. Helping Alvin find the happiness she thought she lost, meeting the Aranara again, and hearing Yoimiya wax poetic about wishes... All of it built to this moment. The pay off for all that was this incredible display. I cried.
I missed the quests with the Aranara. To have one with them again was such an amazing experience. I always loved how closly intertwined they were with dreams. And to see that connection wielded like this is just... wondrous.
Hoyo's creative team knocked this out of the freakin park. I wonder if they can top this? Though considering their propensity for raising the bar again and again, I think we'll be seeing more incredible scenes in the future.

This story quest was light-hearted for a change, and a really fun one too. Yoimiya is an incredibly fun character, and as the NPCs also admit, very entertaining.

Honestly: no. Not "All". Some of them are literally NPC Story Quest.
Well, not all. Some can be just straight boring. But I do admit that recently, story quest is no more as bad as Kazuha's quest and some are getting better and better.

yoimiya is truly an angel. she able to cheer us up. when i was playing this story, i am touched during the cut scene. i just wish that yoimiya will always happy and no need to facing any difficulties in her life. Hope all the players love this little cute girl.

It’s moments like this that remind me why I still play this game
My heart was filled with bursting and exploding happiness that I was crying. For once I was crying because of pure unbridled joy. The music, the cinematography and emotions. The part when Yoimiya saw the meteors turn into magnificent fireworks. It was just too beautiful. Yoimiya, you deserve this and everything else that’s beautiful. ❤
I was saving heavily for Ayato and Itto (who I will get eventually lol) but man did this quest hit me too much. Yoimiya's role in sumeru was just so perfect in this and this cutscene let alone made make a risk on the 50/50 to try to get her with my 90 wishes. And thank god, she came home for me. So happy to have her

Easily one of the best cutscene, it all just feels magical with the direction, the music and everything even a hint of Yoimiya's theme, a surprise to be sure but a very welcome one
