- This was such a cool little DIY! I definitely need to experiment and make some more. Maybe I'll make some fancy ones for Allen or Miku next hmm... Full credit for this idea goes to Kevin over on the Smart Doll Lover's Facebook group. If you want to make your own, you'll need to find and buy 20mm glass cabochons. I got mine in bulk from Trademe (a New Zealand website), but they are definitely on Ebay/etc too.

Girl! Don't stress the eyes aren't perfectly the same. Danny and Co go out of their way to make sure the dolls AREN'T perfect because of their perfection in imperfection motto. These eyes are pretty awesome! TFS.

Gorgeous eyes, maybe a stencil for the base oval to give consistancy in size would be a good idea?

Maybe adding and curing a thin-ish layer of UV resin to the back side would be enough protection to keep the paper from being damaged over time? These came out really cute! Thanks for this idea.
When you posted photos on Facebook I thought you'd printed them out - I had no idea you'd painted them yourself! I love all the added texture and feel it brings!

I’ve watched many videos on follow me eyes and you tutorial was one of the best ones I make my own eyes but thought these would be very hard to do I thought they were putting some kind of oil or something in a plastic dome with a metal backing lol 😂 but this looks so easy. Thanks for the best tutorial yet.!!

I'm not sure if anyone has said it yet, too many comments for my short time, but you could use modge podge to seal the back, or something similar.
That's exactly what I did in this video! I used modge podge to seal the back 😜

Hi ! You’ve been worried for the durability of those eyes I may say that I got similar ones on Pullip for like 2 or 3 years now and they are as great now that the day I bought them ☺️ they are printed though but I really think it’s not gonna affect them that much 😊

Thank you! Yes I'm sure regular printer paper would be fine. Just make sure you be careful not to be rough on it with your drawing materials, and try not to get the paper too wet :)

so i just fell down a rabbit hole on searching the term used for identifying the effect you just had on your doll's eyes.. i kept searching but so far hasn't found the name of this effect; do you maybe know it? it drives me insane istg
These eyes are usually referred to as "follow me" eyes in the doll hobby. I think the specific term for how they work is the "parallax effect" though. But I might be wrong 😅

I got it secondhand, but it was made by Hello Cool Cat - us.sk-coolcat.com/ (their website seems to be going through maintenance right now). They have an etsy store too, but as far as I can tell, they only stock Blythe things there. Hope this helps!
