  • Shuanghong Bridge in Baoshan, Yunnan, is a crucial crossing point on the Southern Silk Road and the Ancient Tea Horse Road. Built in the 54th year of the Qianlong reign (1789) of the Qing Dynasty, it was later renovated and remains in use today. This iron chain bridge spans the Nujiang River, resembling a double rainbow from afar. With a total length of 167 meters, it can accommodate horse caravans, motorcycles, and light agricultural vehicles. Walking on the old bridge, one can look down at the roaring Nujiang River, feel the vibrations of the bridge, and be impressed by its stability. The construction of Shuanghong Bridge is renowned for its high craftsmanship, large scale, and precise structure, making it one of the outstanding ancient bridges in Yunnan. Today, it is a free attraction where visitors can park in the nearby market streets and walk onto the bridge, seemingly hearing echoes of history and experiencing the wisdom and courage of the ancients.
