    Dry Macular Degeneration was detected in 1 eye. I take high doses of lutein (50mg) and zeaxanthin (10mg) daily and omega 3 fish oil 🎉48,000mg daily and do carnivore diet. My retina specialist said the dry macular degeneration is no longer detectable. I see her every 3 months. It has been gone for the last 6 months. My Diet consists of eggs, fatty fish, beef, occasionally pork and small amounts of chicken

      I just read on another channel a doctor saying that high doses of Zeaxanthin made a difference. I’ll bet both Lutein and that in high doses is a good idea.

    It doesn’t scare me. It’s inherited in my family. I’m 83 and just now diagnosed. It’s dry, but it can easily go into wet. My wonderful eye doctor has me on vitamins and has me on every three month visit. My family had e tremendous dry eye problems and I use the prescribed drops many times a day. I wear sunglasses whenever I go outside and also in grocery stores. Walmarts lights make me dizzy. It’s what it is. I eat the greens and love them with lots of garlic. Thank you for your videos.❤

    Good afternoon. I reside in Redmond, Oregon, and even though I have a very good optomatrist, I wouldn't mind you being in 2nd place. Thank you so much for the info in this video. You have been very helpful. More helpful than any eye doctor I had been to in the past 18 years. I do have macolar Degeration, for a fact. Before I finally found my current eye doctor, I had been to a few others, and I have to say, they would all say you are a quack. Thay are the quacks. I was always told, nothing more can be done for me, except a stronger Rx. They are all old-school eye doctors, too. Modern advances in treating macular degeration isn't possible, they will say. I know they are all wrong. Thank you again for everything.

    Just had a eye exam through the VA, i have noticed blurred vision for about 6-8 weeks, the symptoms happened fast. The pics of my eyes showed fluid build up at the back of the eye. In any case i am very concerned. I have all the symptoms mentioned in this video. I got refered to a eye specialist, in which i am schuled to see in two weeks. Being 59 years of age im surprised at whats going on. I have never had any serious eye trouble. Im a non smoker not diabetic no heredity history of this condition and take no meds of any kind. The eye doctor was perplexed to see that i have this condition. Any feedback as to what i should do to slow down the condition would be greatly appreciated. Great video and content. Will try the dietary advise.

    🙏 for your knowledge and helpful honesty! 😅👍 I started doing some resrarch tonight and I found another video before yours who was tecommending to do the very opposite you are advising and also what I believe makes logical sense! Weareas, you advice pritecting the eyes with a good brand of sunglasses, unbelievably he was recommending staring at the sun in the morning before sun rise or sun set! Also suggesting to put acid fruit drops into your eyes, becauses the sting with make you cry and cleanse the eye. Whilst, Vitamin D is important for health, also shielding your eyes and face from its dangerous effects is equally important. Some other stuff this dr suggested sounded alarming!

    I know this video is 3 years old, but I still feel the need to refute your description of AMD. i have the advanced form of AMD called geographic atrophy and I still can see quite a bit. There is no black spot in the middle of my vision because my brain is able to fill in much of the field of vision I have lost. I do have trouble with faces until I am pretty close but I was able to see your face on the video quite well. Normally, faces are just s skin colored blur until I'm close to the person. I can no long read regular print easily but I usually can with a magnifier. I am able to read on my iPad at the largest font setting. There are also talking books for the blind and visually impaired that are totally free and usually administered by a nearby library. I'm saying this because I feel your description was very frightening for people. AMD is not devastating but it does require an adjustment to how you do things. Not being able to drive is one of the biggest adjustments but there are alternative forms of transportation. There are also adaptive technology devices, support groups and low vision clinics that can help you cope. I was diagnosed with AMD more than 10 years ago and I am leading a very independent and fulfilling life.

    Interesting. I am good on everything but the red wine (recovered alcoholic). I was diagnosed with drusen at 27. You didn't mention wet vs. dry (can't have wet w/o dry) and only about 10/% of AMD patients get "wet". It's refreshing to see solid advice about prevention rather than the many BS claims of cures. I've had over 70 anti VEGF injections, have geographic atrophy and am legally blind. My first hemorrhage was at age 50. In my case it's a strong genetic link but your advice sounds solid even for people like me. The pigment thing made me think of a close childhood friend who has been blind since college from retinitis pigmentosa. Probably not related but it did trigger the thought. Thanks again for putting up responsible video. Oh, the current Henry Winkler ads (he's supposed to be a really nice guy) are not the public service oriented ads you might think. They are done by the pharmaceutical company that has recently released a drug that is touted as being the first treat for dry AMD (Does seem to cause vasulitis in about 8% of patients)

    • @rickmilam413
      @rickmilam413 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First question is if you've been told you actually have it or if you have drusen, which is often associated with it as a precursor. Hopefully the latter. Only about 10% of people who have dry have wet. If you do have dry there's a good chance you will never have the wet form. I hope that's the case although you can still lose all of your central vision to the cry form. Injection frequency depends on the ongoing evaluation of both of your eyes individually as well as the type of medication being injected. The older ones tend to be needed more frequently but never more than once per 30 days for each eye. As long as you don't develop the wet version you don't need to worry about it. The current injections are only used for treatment of wet. There is one exception but it's in its very erly days. @@badreddinegacem

    I operated cranes for 32 years at night and at a height of 170 feet, in the cab where I sat. When I first started, I would force my vision a lot because of poor lighting; as the years went by the lighting improved ; which helped; but I think it took a toll on my eyesight. However, many times when working close to a ship, welders would strike their arcs without warning and many times it would hurt my eyes. Though I complained to safety, nothing was ever done to remedy the situation. I now suffer from AMD in one eye, although, I know of no one in my family who ever had this problem.

    thanks so much! I am currently getting a needle jabbed in my eye every 5 weeks, so needless to say I would love nothing more than to find a natural cure for my Macular Edema

    • @Need_too_Know
      @Need_too_Know ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not a cure just prevention of progression. If someone has progressed to the more severe Wet form of macular degeneration where they have edema/new blood vessel growth that leaks fluid into the retina, there is NO DATA to suggest sunglasses and stopping smoking are gonna just “treat” or resolve that. Injections of Anti-VEGF medications are a more recent and vision saving therapy. They prevent further growth of new blood vessels into the retina that aren’t supposed to be their which then leak fluid into the retina cause all manner of issues and in time may cause blindness. The injections are meant to stop this new and unwanted vessel growth so your body can HOPEFULLY reabsorb the fluid and prevent more severe vision loss/blindness if treated in a more timely manner. Recommendations in this video will not cure AMD nor stop the growth of new blood vessels or leaking fluid into the eye that occur in Wet Macular Degeneration. Please, Please, PLEASE don’t stop your treatment with a retinal specialist because this video says eat leafy greens and wear UV protection while you avoid smoking. Consult your retinal specialist before you defer treatment due to this video. Again, I’m not an MD nor OD but I’m in the room every single day taking their notes and they’d be appalled by someone stopping treatment by assuming this video entails a “cure” due to the creator’s loose use of the word “treatment” or any implied benefits beyond preventing progression of your condition. Language matters…and when people misunderstand their medical diagnosis or the wrong language gets used resulting in misunderstandings, it can make the difference between preserving vision or blindness in this example. The creator of this video should take the above person’s statement as a testament to the potential harm their lack of clear language can have. If I stopped treatment because of your video and went blind, I’d take you to court in a heartbeat for misleading me to think these suggestions would treat/cure my condition. Whether the case would come out in the patient’s favor vs the video creator is debatable. However, the video creator has a moral, medical, and legal obligation to not cause harm by how they represent these preventative measures.

      Yes, but take food based vitamins. Eat a diet of leafy greens, and foods rich in beta carotene and healthy fats. Organic pasture raised eggs and wild caught fish. And reduce stress. Stress affects vision dramatically Regular meditation and calming movement like yoga or qi gong - all avail on yt for free - are wonderful stress relievers and calming for the nervous system. Drink plenty of water and reduce foods that cause inflammation - processed foods, trans fats, and refined sugars.

      Yes it does work. I was a CDL Driver and it began and I had an eye exam and was told I had the beginning of AMD. I was told nothing can be done about it. So I researched everything I could find out and learned it can be done so I did it. EyeExercises 2-3x daily and take all individual nutrients that can be constructive to my macula. It took 4 and a half mos and my sight got better but I do have what's called garbage in my vision floaters and such. I have been doing as I tell you for 6years and have my eyesight. My job was extremely dangerous but I had to apply myself and heal my eyes. I do eye exercises daily to keep my vision. The exercises are not hard it's actually easy you just have to do them. Google it and take an interest in helping yourself. You be patient but get right to it. I'm 67 and cherish my vision.😉

Even as a kid, I chose good food over bad. Growing up in South Florida we stopped and ate fruit all day long for mangoes to oranges and everything in between. I never smoked or drank alcohol.
