Now at 46, I’m becoming more familiar with my eye insurance. I have VSP through the state of California employment. Up until this year, I was strictly using a VSP in network optometrist. Finally went to a Stanley Optics, Americas’s Best type place. Way better value for your insurance. All the frames at a VSP network was marked up., nullifying the allowance I got with my upgraded VSP plan. At Americas best for example, I got my exam and frames for $50 through my insurance. At a VSP network shop, would’ve cost me $251 without frames. Huge difference. Bottom line, know your insurance and know your options.

I recently cured my eyes when l used hand sanitiser on my lids and lashes for 20 sec,kept my eyes closed for 60 sec,twice daily for 4 days,all clear now.

If I lived in a place where the competence of professions like optometrists could be trusted, I would take your advice to get eye exams. But I don’t, and I would guess most people in the world don’t.

I was told I had bleparitis and had no issue with dry eyes, just an infection. I was told to heat compress as hot as u can bear it and use baby shampoo to clean yr eyes 2 x a day. Then had dry eyes! Wat the hell. Stopped doing I was doing, got not dry eyes back during the day. But just night time now dry eyes. Been awhile, hopefully comes right

Reality Check---1981 OD graduate here--In 1981, there were 10 optometry schools and ODs were in short supply--Today, there are over 20 optometry schools turning out too many ODs--Graduating OD with over $285 K in debt, after 8 years of university. Just try staying afloat with competing COSTCO $79 eye exams. And forget about working for an Ophthalmologists--by end of their residency training, they are taught to hate ODs and they will treat you like a 8 week trained technician. So compute minimum of $ 285,000 student loan debt, (plus living expenses, debt) combined with 4 post B.S. years of NO INCOME--- Your optometry degree with make your mother very proud but you will be working 10 years to crawl out of debt. Older ODs and every MD will try to hire you for much less than you are worth. During my working years, optometry was good for my family, but today, I warn young potential optometrists of the reality of life in 2024.

I hav bee n diagnosed with dry Macular Degeneration. I care for my husband who is permenantly bedridden. Any advice is welcome.

My dad went through 2 yrs of painful injections to supposedly help his macular degeneration - Avastin only left him with permanent scarring.. which the scareing from reaction to Avastin ledt my dad blind …. Now not sure anything can be done… :(*

i have eye retina issues i receive injections every 10 weeks to stop leakage behind my retina. i do have the maculur degeneration. if i was to take coq10 would it help reverse some damage. i am also on cholestrol medicine been taking since june 2023 thank . ps where can i get the c.10 at.

Had the model 3 long range 2021, the suspension wasn’t great but never bottomed out. I have the 2024 now. Suspension is much better. My phone is in my pocketbook and it recognizes it. Odd. Hope you checked out the BMW EV. The suspension bothered me that if the new one wasn’t better it was a deal breaker. I test drove it on cobblestone streets I had suffered through in my 2021 and it was a huge improvement. Coffee didn’t spill test lol. I live in nyc so streets are not smooth. They gave me self driving and a lot of fees off for getting a new one. Curious what you did get. Hope it’s an EV. They offered me the Y for the same price but I don’t want a bigger car guess they aren’t moving Lol now I know why Y

My optometrist found a retinal tear just on a routine eye exam. I was having zero issues . I had the laser treatment to fix it. I hadn't had a eye exam in years, and it scared me to wonder how long it had been there, and how I avoided a detachment. They also found some latticing, so it's routine eye exams for me from now on for sure. I consider myself lucky.

I found out I have the gene for MD through 23/me several years ago. It has just showed up this year

I have blurred and double vision , I have bulge disc in neck area, misalignment and canal narrowing therefore it makes blurred vision, vertigo as well.

Now that is what I would call being privileged. They just decide to LARP living in a 3rd Country for a few months and then INTENTIONALLY get infect with gnarly parasites. What else could you call it other than being “privileged”, other than stupid and disgusting, privileged definitely applies. People in 3rd world countries suffer and die EVERDAY due to these parasites and these westerns go over there to get infected like it’s some kind of game. Wanna know why they’re so confident in doing that? It’s because at the end of the day, they can just fly back to a western country and can receive adequate care when they inevitably realize they made a serious lapse in judgement and they don’t find being eaten from the inside out by parasites to be fun anymore. Normally I hate the word “privileged” because today it gets thrown around haphazardly, and pretty much used exclusively towards white people and I can’t help but rolls when I hear someone use the word. But this is definitely one instance in which the word describes the people involved down to a T. 🤦‍♂️

Bamonte in italy, a highly respected retina specialist is highly actually partial or limited vitrectomy. He says leaving any of the vitreus actually leaves behind higher risk of retinal detachment. Also, most of the cases the patiens are not floaterfree after it. What are your thoughts?
