I just always enjoy watching these videos, great job as always Taofledercrew! Jeff's & Gregg's comments reminded me of some comments by viewers ages ago about there being no such thing as a "rifled shotgun barrel." I grew up in Michigan and rifled shotgun 'slug barrels' are popular for deer hunting as we couldn't use a rifle in the lower part of Michigan for deer. So here is a free tip to my fellow viewers (and yes it is what I find myself doing as well from time to time): if you see/hear some particular comment in a video that is contrary to what you know, research it a little before you comment that way you have information that is helpful and its backed up by others. It still may not be true so be wary of where you get your info but its better than trying to use anecdotal evidence [that's a misnomer] as...evidence. However, anecdotal stories about experiences are still great to read about.
The steep ramp up from slug's nose to it's body, almost makes soft medium fly out to the side even harder. The concave curves on the nose might also help that effect. Very cool slugs, great shooting 👍

It's good to see Brandon again. It feels like it's been 2 or 3 years. Those slugs sure are frightening... (but then again they are Russian. Which begs to ask this question: WTF do they hunt over there?)
There is weird russian gun law: you need own smooth bore gun (shotgun) for 5 years before you will be able to buy rifles. That is why many people are doing experiments with slugs and shots.
I'm sorry, I just had to comment - I loved hearing the Space:1999 theme playing in the background at the beginning of this video. I'm not sure whether any of the Eagles were setup to shoot shotgun slugs, but it certainly would have added to the mistique of the programme!!
You beat me to saying exactly the same. Music is from the second series if I remember correctly, apparently it wasn’t as well received as the first but I still loved it as a kid.

Good job guys, your videos are always a highlight of my day! Good job standing up for marginalized communities... let the poor ballistics dummy identify however he wants! Note: I think the "sunburn" on that gel shot might have been a gas-check failure or something like that.
That slug is amazing. That 'screw driver' blade is as OG said 'ploughing' through the target but i'd guess that as it's spinning it's also changing the airflow around the slug as it travels. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of that round...being Scottish might not be enough for it to deflect off me

I love the absolute sh!t out of you guys! That driver's license is gold 😄😆 😂. Awesome video as usual Jeff and O.G. It always amazes me how well these slugs fly.
Some people seem to think this slug resembles a log splitter, and I agree. Now, I've heard people call a log splitter a maul. Considering the wound track this thing left, I think maul/mauler would be an appropriate name.
Man, Brandon the Test Dummy has been with you guys for years! These "Lets go Brandon" thing making problems where they never existed before is just ridiculous.
Jeff, I love your content. You and OG crack me up. I unlike some, love the "table top" portions of the vids. I am going to try my hand at reloading some shot shells and slugs. I have ordered a Lee Loadall II and some supplies. One thing I haven't ordered yet are sabots and/or gas seals. Some time in the past you went over how you make the roll crimp when you load a slug. Would you happen to know what video that was, or if you wouldn't mind go over that again? I have a drill press. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Ron
The reverse ogive principle was developed back in the 70s (?) to create more effective pistol projectiles. They worked but had feed problems because of the odd shape. These modern versions with their phillips head screwdriver shape seem to have reached the happy medium. And this. This thing is the giant version. Utterly devastating. Them Russian boys don't mess around...
Holy sh!t guys!!! I've been trying to find this track I saw on one of the crash videos where the guy crashed into the tree stump, and here it is, in this video. Thank you guys.
Actually 200 is well within range of a 12 gauge sabot slug and my NEF ultra slug will hold a 3 in group at 200 and I have stacked up many deer in the 125-200 range with the Remington accutips over the last decade and a half
I loved the episode. OG in farm country 40 yards is not a long slug shot, but yes a fully rifled barrel and a slug combo that shoots well your shotgun is required.
It's amazing how changing the material (materiel?) of the projectile changes the performance so dramatically. This slug as well as all the others from this designer. I guess harder materials don't deform and expand as much and do less damage to the target, but it absolutely shocks me how easily ballistic vests can be defeated by brass or copper projectiles. Even from relatively low powered rounds. I saw a video a while ago where a dude made hardened steel and pointed .22 LR rounds that went straight through a level IIIa vest. (was it you guys? Might have been. I'm not sure. I looked at your older videos and didn't see it. BTW, you guys have some AWESOME old videos! Ima go check them out later) But .22s! Through a level 3a vest! That's just incredible. I just love watching to see how different projectiles affect the performance SO MUCH! I learn a lot from these videos. I never even thought of "barrel harmonics" and how that affects impact point. Sorry I'm rambling on. Anyway, love these videos and I think you guys are funny and awesome! Especially with that intro. Hehe! Keep it up.

Those slugs sure are frightening... (but then again they are Russian. Which begs to ask this question: WTF do they hunt over there?)
Bears? Boars? Cloned Mammoths?
Pzkw IV.
There is weird russian gun law:
you need own smooth bore gun (shotgun) for 5 years before you will be able to buy rifles. That is why many people are doing experiments with slugs and shots.
They have huge bear, huge wolves, elk, and other large game.
Right now, kazaks... Sorry, too soon?
I'm sorry, I just had to comment - I loved hearing the Space:1999 theme playing in the background at the beginning of this video.
I'm not sure whether any of the Eagles were setup to shoot shotgun slugs, but it certainly would have added to the mistique of the programme!!
You beat me to saying exactly the same. Music is from the second series if I remember correctly, apparently it wasn’t as well received as the first but I still loved it as a kid.
I really enjoy your videos. They are informative and educational. Looking at the background, you can see numerous footprints and travel ( typical ). May I suggest that you pass a fan rake in the background ( where possible ) for projectile recovery.
Seriously, I am sure you guys do enough range work for these videos. Thank you for your time and work!
These slugs performed amazing and kudos to Alexi for thinking outside of the box on design ideas like this one!
I would still love to see a shirt or something in memory of Danny with the part or all of the proceeds going to Cancer Research in his name!
THAT is a great idea! Make it so, guys, and I'll buy a couple.
@@garyowens7454 Do me a favor and please make a post instead of leaving a reply that way they might have a better chance of seeing it and finding out how many people will be interested in buying one of the shirts! TY
@@jasoncarpenter4116 Done and done, my friend. Have a great day
Another awesome round! Well shot and well videoed! Dog whistle indeed!
woof
Like that design. Would love to see it downsized to use in a 45/70 and loaded for a Marlin 1895.
Would need a driving band of some softer copper, I think...
Underwood Ammo uses The Lehigh designs in the 45/70's they make...
Damn that whoosh when the text showed and left the screen. Damn that was nice .
To day was a good day!
That slug was Devastating, I’m impressed with that armour pvfcfcdssss whatever it was called, twice it stoped that (clay wafer maker) when Kevlar didn’t
Damn- those things are impressive! Also Officer Greg can shoot, no matter what everyone says.
Yes ,,, but don't swell his head ,,, LOL , let's go Brandon
Thank you guys for another GREAT VIDEO!!
thank you OG for your GREAT sense of humor 😁😁😁 keep'em coming guys..🇺🇲😁🇺🇲😁🇺🇲😁🇺🇲😁
thank you Dewey
It might be a good improvement to take a “professional” photo of each round in the same setting “modeled” for the picture. Just feel the intro jumps the eyes around more than necessary. LOVE you guys and always am pleased to see an new episode! Keep up the great work thank you. Where’s the gofundme/Patreon?
Edit: found the merch, nvm.
I love the humor and the sweatshirt! If you cross out the old shot holes with a magic marker you will be able to spot the new ones.
Very good how you show step by step detail
Well, while living in hawaii, folks called a Phillip's screwdriver a plus screwdriver and a slotted screwdriver a minus screwdriver. So this round could be called a minus round.
+driver, -driver...
I’d love to see the schliren footage on a slug like that! I wonder if the shockwave would spiral bc of the flat point and scallops. 🤷♂️
Good job guys, your videos are always a highlight of my day! Good job standing up for marginalized communities... let the poor ballistics dummy identify however he wants!
Note: I think the "sunburn" on that gel shot might have been a gas-check failure or something like that.
If you look at the sabot in the video, it looks like it only has 3 of the 4 petals still attached.
Well now, THAT was fun! Thanks for the video guys and rating this round.
That slug is amazing. That 'screw driver' blade is as OG said 'ploughing' through the target but i'd guess that as it's spinning it's also changing the airflow around the slug as it travels. I wouldn't want to be on the wrong end of that round...being Scottish might not be enough for it to deflect off me
I would love to see him make one of these with a split down the length of the wedge. I'm curious how that would change the energy dump.
I love how you run your videos i laugh during every video except the last on with Danny, i still miss him. That's an amazing round, i use my guns for hunting and i can't think of anything that round would be good for unless yo could get some hogs to line up just right
thanks Wayne
Get them lined up for a toofer or a threefer shot. 😃
Good video Jeff and OG, nice projectile out of the Mass Accelerator 😎
Thanks for getting back to me with an answer Jeff this is going to be the best TH-cam channel for
Impressive, i never see any of these live. Always months or years later.
Dang. Those hit seriously hard 👍👍
I love the absolute sh!t out of you guys! That driver's license is gold 😄😆 😂. Awesome video as usual Jeff and O.G.
It always amazes me how well these slugs fly.
Thanks for watching, Adam!
Thank you very much Adam!!
Just came across your channel today. Love your humor, and your professionalism. Great work guys
thank you!!
Glad the cop is wearing that shirt! You guys rock!
Some people seem to think this slug resembles a log splitter, and I agree.
Now, I've heard people call a log splitter a maul.
Considering the wound track this thing left, I think maul/mauler would be an appropriate name.
A maul is what you hit the splitting wedge with
Man, Brandon the Test Dummy has been with you guys for years! These "Lets go Brandon" thing making problems where they never existed before is just ridiculous.
The only problem is in the warped brain pans of the whinny pisspants brigade.
Yeah, you should see libtards try to cheer for their kid named Brandon now, can't say"atta boy" either cuz feelings...
This Jason fellow seems like one of those people that goes to make friends, says one word and suddenly everyone has left the bar to avoid him.
Greg, this is the first time I've seen you new doo. It looks good. Best regards to all.
But is he a legal Citizen? LMAO!! I laughed so hard after the helmet shot. Holy crap that is a bad ass round!!
Seven up hydraulic fluid flavor ! Thats OG funny
The slug almost looks like a wood splitter blade. Call it "THE WOOD SPLITTER". Great video as usual guys. Keep up the great content 👍
Holy sh!t guys!!! I've been trying to find this track I saw on one of the crash videos where the guy crashed into the tree stump, and here it is, in this video. Thank you guys.
Would love to know the order you would rank all these slugs. Obviously the off balance one was the worst 😅
They tried off balance to the left. I think they should have tried off balance both ways. Left and right.
100 yards is reasonable with a slug if using something like a savage 212, or 220, and a sabot slug.
Actually 200 is well within range of a 12 gauge sabot slug and my NEF ultra slug will hold a 3 in group at 200 and I have stacked up many deer in the 125-200 range with the Remington accutips over the last decade and a half
You guys seem cool. I'm subscribing ☺️
Thanks Josh. Welcome to TFM.
You might regret it
I loved the episode.
Hehe! Keep it up.
Not us!
Cat!
Edit: Boosting engagement. I think you should reply this. This is plenty intelligent and not overly critical.
you've officially been replied
I always get a kick out of you guys explaining how rediculous some of these people get on here
Probably a lot of the really bad ones get filtered out by YT and I never see them
@@taofledermaus it's probably a good thing people get really nasty when hidden behind a keyboard but keep doing what your doing it brightens many or our days and it's nice to see an active thinking community along with different perspectives on ballistics around the world
So when you throw Brandon in the truck on your way to the range, do you always say "Let's go"?
I find it interesting that the slug passed through the TP so fast that it barely deformed the rolls, that is moving. RIP DANNY You guys are great!!
Probably the most powerful slug you guys have tested. Super cool
About that "Brandon" name; for a guy with no arms or legs, one might have guessed that his name was "Mat." Unless of course he was in the water, where he would be called, "Bob."
Amongst the long grass and leaves he would be called "Russel"
If you put him in a hole you can call him Doug.
If they haul him around in the trunk of the car, it'd be Jack... Or Jimmy Hoffa.
