What strikes me listening (regularly) to Drs Hyman, William Davis, Perlmutter, Mercola, Lustig, Noakes etc etc etc is the same things come up consistently … get rid of grains/sugars/veg oils, time restricted eating and fasting, exercise, fix microbiome, detoxify. There isn’t a different fix for every different disease … it’s relatively the same fix, albeit with different emphasis, every single time.
SUCH valuable information!!! Thank you!! Never stop, we need this TRUTH. My Mom died with Alzheimer's, I work hard to prevent myself (and others!) from going down that road.
I'm finding myself generally discouraged after these talks. I keep spending hours of my life watching them, and more often than not, come away with few to no specifics that I can implement. This would be great if I had the kind of money that I could come see you or Dr. Isaacson, but since that's not an option, this model of health is so expensive and difficult to access for 99% of us. IMF doctors in my area are charging $400-$1000 an hour, and it takes so long to figure everything out, and that's not including testing. Most people cannot afford 10, 20, 30 thousand dollars to get their health in order. I understand that you can't really practice medicine via TH-cam, but I really wish you and your guests would give us tangible specifics, otherwise this is really not particularly useful for patients other than as a source of info about resources that are hopelessly inaccessible.
Cut out wheat and sugar compketely from your diet. Eat chicken n fish, vegetables n fruits especially low sugar ones. Test and supplement, if low, on Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Zinc, B12, Vitamin A, D, E, K, Omega 3 etc. Get exercise or walk. If you have skin problems like eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, pimples, could be due to yeast. Test for markers n get treatment for any underlying infections. Herbal antifungals are good. Eat a probiotic food everyday like, Kimchi, Kevin, Kombucha etc Get sunshine (between 7 am to 9 am in India). Make friends with Happy, positive, trust worthy n reliable people ie good relationships. Pay attention to and honour your feelings Know yourself, accept yourself unconditionally (loose self criticism n judgement), feel free to be your authentic self (don't hide). I am just another traveller on this path. Good luck !
Exactly. I barely live on Social Security and I’m on a Medicare HMO plan. The kind of doctors and tests, etc. they refer to are not available/possible. I eat mostly keto, time restrictive eating, pretty good sleep, walk every day with a little resistance training. In other words, everything I can that cost little to nothing.
There are many things you can do to improve brain health which doesn’t cost the sums that your concerned about. Try intermittent fasting, daily exercise and omit processed foods and sugars and you are on your way to a healthy brain.
I appreciated the purposeful conversation to deliver the practically essential self care by the doctors who are not limiting themselves to the four walls of clinics and research labs. However, they need to be more focused, not to be full of small talks, like the talks of the trading instructors. Dr. Isaac son and Dr. Hyman were admirable for their unorthodox practices. “ love your brain. Make a plan for sleep” are so valuable. Thank you!
I wish I knew this 20 yrs ago. Already sent this to everyone I know. Thank you for this cutting edge way of looking at Alzheimer's. Maria Shriver may be able to help you figure out how to raise the money for research. I am as shocked as Dr. Hyman that this wasn't at the forefront of ALL news. Keep up the amazing work! Talk about changing lives.....this breakthrough is unprecedented.
At 81, I was just diagnosed (functional MRI and extensive cog testing compared vs a baseline 6 yrs ago) and am desperate to do all I can SOONEST to protect my brain. Have my DNA, quite extensive details about my med & psych history, toxic exposures, and more starting before age 5, recent blood tests from Stanford (for my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and Inside Tracker. Could I be a long-distance pt? Or participate in a clinical trial w/ you or one of your Alz functional med colleagues around the. country? At this age, I'm burnin' daylight! 🌝🌺
I adore listening to Richard. His podcast with Peter Attia and now. Does he have his own podcast? I lost my mom and her mom to Alzhiemers and I am 57 and working hard to get healthy so I do not get this awful disease as well
Me too, I just turned 61 my mom is 82 so sad. Im exercising, keto ( 6 yrs.) watching Dr. Hyman Hoping to stay healthy But the memory its trying to hold on !! Fingers crossed
Being a student of Food and Nutrition, I am also working on the role of functional foods to modulate gut microbiota and inhibit/prevent Alzheimer's diseases. Both of the respected doctors explained very well this issue.
You have some excellent interviews. However please consider that you spent a lot of the first 15 minutes of this interview and later times interrupting your interviewee and his message.!
Dr Hyman, I like your laugh, I don't know what do they mean in the comments. I like your videos, because of your character. I think you give great information and I don't always agree with what you say, but probably we can't all agree on everything. However, in general, your input is great and absolutely relevant :-).
Dr. Richard Isaacson, says people with more risk factors for heart disease, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and obesity experienced more cognitive decline than people with healthier hearts. So does this mean people on Keto diet with high cholesterol levels are in trouble?
I notice that in the series Mastering Brain Health from Florida Atlantic University, in the episode dealing with vascular Brain health, they emphasize the importance of reducing LDL-C to very low levels. I don't understand this. From my reading the entire cholesterol thing is extremely contentious to say the least.
Love your work Dr. Isaacson and Dr Hyman! Your work is important and appreciated very much! How can I help my aging parents to make small changes when they are so stubborn and so attached to certain bad foods like burgers and fries!!😓
First we have to clean up the food and drug administration. We need to have teams of medical graduates who are doing what youtwo do. Our entire lifestyle culture needs a total realization to clean up the medical system. The fast food industry as well as cleaning up the soda pop industry. If we are going to regulate certain things then let us include the medical fields modernization of analysis and diagnosis. Thank you.
Don’t rely on our government/politicians to clean up our problems ,they are the ones who have help make this mess. It’s about each one of us , we have to babysit what we eat , drink and breathe.Maybe in another couple of lifetimes when there is a shift in society’s mindset we can all be on the same page.
The speakers are very interesting and intelligent but this format is too much bla bla bla and repetitions and repetitions All over the place, just please say what you have to say and Do not delay it like its a Block buster movie
I can help by being a test subject. I am APOE 4/4 and biohacking my way to prevent this. I have also Familial Hypercholesterolemia FH with an LDLR missense mutation. I have neurology MRIs to share. I’m working on insulin resistance with Metformin, exercise, low carb diet and intermittent fasting. I was severely vitamin D and vitamin B deficient and I’ve addressed that. I have sleep apnea and low oxygen saturations at night and I’ve addressed that. I am a triple board certified laboratorian and national medical educator. I would be a compliant patient and an excellent case study. I am 60 years old and still working full-time but having problems with executive function. Do you take patients Dr. Issacson?
Please use the correct pronunciation for preventive and not preventative. Open up Garner’s Modern American Usage, turn to the entry on “preventative” and you’ll see this: “The strictly correct form is ‘preventive’ (as both noun and adjective), though the corrupt form with the extra internal syllable is unfortunately common. ... In modern print sources, ‘preventive’ is about five times as common as ‘preventative,’ a needless variant.”
Dr Mark Hyman, l like your videos, it's very informative and it changes my life. Could you please make every video shorter? The long videos consume my time. Thank you🌹
Yes great that non-std of care folks are ignoring "can 't" from big pharma, BUT this video was disappointing re zero zero details for a DIYer at home with an older parent. What details did we get? Yes I heard "customized", but 70% of this was repeating and pontifying, could have been more substance. Thanks to all and Mark.
I read her in norway. 80 prosent of National health budget goes to demensia. Man the money saved if the mind could be saved. Little sorry to say. But To take care of sombody for 10 years thats already dead gone in a way, is a little ehhhh unecsasary. Whats the point!?
I feel great but on cholesterol meds are sucking the energy out of me. I’m stay on keto for brain health. My dr won’t learn more about keto same testing over … my mom in nursing with altzhimeres disease. I’m add (attention deficit) and starting have memory issues. Any testing 61 yo
Great information 🧠🧠 just keep up the good work and don’t worry about people disagreeing with you!!! The proof is in the patients that are getting better ❤️🩹

I am grateful that some doctors are willing to do something even though their are being criticized by others that don’t do anything 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻💖🌹
Richard Isaacson has impressive conversational skills

You can also check Dr. Ayesha and Dr. Dean Sherzai. They have a podcast, two books. Maybe they would be more helpful.

@@madhavidasari8302 thanks so much - great summary of things which can prevent many health conditions.

Trying to locate Dr Isaacson. He left FAU. Where can I find him?
They are trying to put on a show and seem to avoid the important info.

......no.
Prevention is easy, just live healthy. Reversing would be really interesting.
Dr Dale Bredesen has reversed early Alzheimers and has pu listed books on his protocol
