A big issue for all these pre 2010 prospects J-Wall, D-rose , Westbrick, O.J. Mayo and even Ty Lawson is that 5-6 years in they were caught in the steph curry analytics era where everyone was expected to shoot while they were still part of the 6”3 atheletic PG revolution.

We all know exactly what happened to John Wall. The money became more important than the game to him. Other players are just injury prone, and some do their best to come back or stay healthy. Passion, should have driven him as it did since the day he held a basketball, but eventually money overran his desire, passion and love for the game. Simple as that....🤷🏽♂️
Yeah it's crazy how a lot of these players go hard and once they get that bag they're suddenly not showing there full talent anymore. Like idk how serious Zion's injury or health is but why is it dude hasn't played but he always showcasing his windmill dunks like 20 times before a game, smh...🤔lol

I’ll just say the proof is there for anyone who cares to know that he played through all sorts of injuries and likely caused his achillies tear by grinding too hard while hurt AFTER he signed his big supermax during the 2017 off season. He literally tried to play postponing knee surgery in 17/18, sitting a dozen games, coming back , over and over, until finally knee surgery in January. Then in 2018/19, he tried to play the first 30 games dealing with plantar fasciitis and a bone spur on his heel. Eventually doctors convinced him to finally shut it down after he had been sitting one game, playing the next, etc. wizards DRs have literally been quoted as saying he wanted to tough it out TOO much and that’s likely what cost him in the end. After his achillies surgery he got a new DR and the report was that DR diagnosed what had been causing the bone spurs and other issues since 2014, undiagnosed tendinitis. DR said it was insanity he had been playing through all of these injuries. Anyone who followed walls career knows the one thing that’s clear is he is obsessed with playing hoop. This man nearly took his own life due to how much injuries forced him to not be on the court. Oh!!! Haha do you know what he even tried to convince rockets DRs to let him keep playing during the 2021 season even AFTER rockets were eliminated and had one of the worst records? He was playing with a thigh strain and a grade 2 hamstring strain! Legit! Fucking insane

What happened? Him not putting work in the gym and into his game is what happened. John Wall is the same player that came out of Kentucky, that is to say that he was a slasher who couldn't shoot. Never improved his offensive game, he thought that he couldn't rely on his athleticism forever, him being faster and more athletic than every defender that was guarding him in the league not named Rose. His career is a failure in that he was drafted as the #1 pick and had a ton of hype and expectations and he didn't live up to any of it.
He got injured twice and it was a wrap. We know very well what happened to him, it's not like it happened 20 yrs ago. Don't even see the point in watching this.
