How to Fix iPhone Battery Sudden Drops

  • If your iPhone battery is suddenly dropping, you will need to fix it by recalibrating your iPhone battery.
iPhone batteries will lose health over time, so older iPhones will not show an accurate percentage.
Once you recalibrate it, it should fix the read-out of your battery percentage.
On newer iPhones, iPhone 11, 12, and 13, this process should be automatic. You can see it under the iPhone battery menu. Access this menu under settings and plug in your iPhone to charge.
Step 1: Drain your iPhone battery until your iPhone dies.
Step 2: Plug in your iPhone and turn it off to charge it. Do this overnight for a full charge.
Step 3: Turn on iPhone and force reset with volume up, volume down, and hold the power button.
Once the iPhone is turned on again, the calibration is complete.

About every couple of months or so, my iPhone 13 battery rapidly discharges while on standby. For example: From 9 AM yesterday to 1PM today, with regular use (texting and internet search), it went from 85% down to 65%. That's a mere 20% drop in 28 hours while in use. Then, while on standby with NO use, it rapidly fell to zero around 5PM! So, in the course of just 4 short hours, in standby mode only, 65% of the battery power was consumed!
The phone store recommended a complete reset which I was unwilling to jump through the hoops. So what could be the cause, and why does this happen once in a great while? For what it's worth, every time it's the exact same issue. The battery graph shows a steep straight line drop down to zero.

If you knew anything about iPhones and batteries in general, you’d know that leaving your device plugged in after it caps battery percentage is inherently horrible for shelf life of batteries. Suggesting to leave the device plugged in over night will age your battery like milk.

@@defo.not_zazait stops charging at 100% yes. It’s not like you ever see a phones battery go to 101%-107% etc.. I’m saying, for ages it has been touted that leaving a battery charging over night has always been frowned upon because very little know that batteries, although they finish charging, begin to lose their longevity when they continue receiving juice without anywhere to expel it. That’s why people who leave their phones plugged in overnight consistently , start to observe a noticeably lower performing battery that not only makes your phone glitch sometimes, but will also make you lose battery faster over the course of a day when you KNOW it never used to be like that. Leaving a phone plugged in over night is very very bad for the battery. It makes it weaker and it makes the 100% charges last way less and it makes applications and videos consume much more energy. My point being, one of his fixes for this sudden battery drop is ironic because one of the fixes is a major no no for phones

I heard about vampire battery drain but what I’m talking about is paranormal not due to apps running in the background cause I check the battery setting statistics and all is well with every app I’m not dissatisfied but yeah idk anyone?
