I heard solo tank and I though "Sigma poke comp" then I looked at my screen and chuckled Also, I think hybrid comps are easier post OW 2 characters Edit: a hybrid comp I was in in a qp match was a Illari, Bap, Mei, Rein, and I forgot the other 2, but it's really interesting to widdle them on their way in, trying to draw out resources, then brawl them when they come in close if they waste enough resources. I would say maybe the best version would be like a Mauga Ram, Mei, Ilari, Bap, Juno, but that's mostly theory crafted
17:23 i think you just go full on on the dive , zen wil just die on cool down and waddle back from spanw the entire game cuz he is alone . Id rather have juno or lucio , or even kiri to go all in with everyone else and provide circumstantial healing
(as a ball player)I would disagree with the solo tanking opinion. It feels way better solo ranking in 6V6 than 5V5. In 5V5 I need at least 2 people to look at me for distraction value for comps that can punish me with cc. In 6V6 because i am weaker as an individual I gain a lot more proportional value for each person I can force the attention of. It feels better for me tbh unless they run zen , hard CCs and stack together but that is bad regardless of the format lol
i do disagree but i definitely knew this would be a real thing someone would have an issue with i was playing the other day and had the exact thought of hmmm i wonder if some tank players will miss getting so many resources
@GiancarloSpiru I think you misunderstood, I like playing 2+ tanks when I play something like Zarya, Rien, ect. Solo tank in 6v6 feels way better than 5v5. In 5v5 because tanks are so strong, I need to waist atleast 2 enemies resources to gain value but in 6v6 I am less important as an individual so I don't need to bait as many resources. If I bait 3 enemies resources in 5v5, it is so hard yet not rewarding, in 6v6 although it is harder it is way more rewarding.
I think zarya, diva plus an initiator like rein or ram would be meta if/when this mode goes to competitive. Tho it may be thst people dont want to necessarily play 3 tanks , 2 tanks might be what we would see most commonly
I personally don't think min 1 max 3 works out well with one support, 3 dps and 2 tanks. Especially if one of your tanks is like Doom while the support is Bap or something. I've had more games lately where people just pick 3 dps so often, and I ain't the biggest fan all the time.
This video is exactly why Min 1 Max 3 is better than 2-2-2 role que. There are a lot of comp strategies with great potential. It's great! I think with your triple tank (3/2/1) solo support comp, Kiriko works better than Zen, because Kiriko can join your tanks in the fray. For example, she can jump in with Winston, and he throws his bubble down, she can dance inside it, then the bubble goes down, she uses her suzu when in danger, then hazard or ball, even a Tracer or Sombra going for a health pack, there can be many targets she could teleport to for safety as long as they coordinate your escape route. There are so many comps that can be done, I really hope they do Min 1 Max 3.
Unfortunately the avg joe isnt gunna worry about comp strategies and will want to play their own way. This then leads to a mismatch/ unsustainable comp, making every1 on the team suffer...
@ the average Joe won’t care if there is or isn’t strategies by that logic, so why if I want the game to have the potential for more strategy, then it’s equally as harmless to Joe as not having less strategy, but for me having less strategy is harmful. You rarely hear most people saying they want a dumbed down game. Remember that’s what they did with 5v5. Told us it would be simpler and less complex, requiring less coordination. Well, they watered down the flavor of the game. If the game is super complex, Joe can chooses how much he wants to invest in learning the game, so if he doesn’t care that much, no problem, it doesn’t bother me, because I can enjoy it for the amount I choose to learn. It’s like the saying, “aim for the stars and land on the moon”. Give players the option. Give players enough room to limit themselves. Do not limit the players.
@@Eastra3 Im not against options, but most of the player base are dps players. Nobody wants to play tank so the other 2 players will be supps. Then we're left with 1 tank, which we all know how miserable that is. And from my experience playing this mode, this has been the case waaaay too often. Again Im not opposed to options. I wish OW2 could go this route. But honestly 3 dps is way too toxic and too big of a con of this format.
@sourdough36 It'd be so fun tho, just get 3 beefy tanks like a rein, orisa and mauga and then get like an ana, juno and maybe a Lucio or even a mercy for a rezz. No one would die, you could healbot and the fights would last forever.
@@aceclop Triple support is a popular comp in rivals, and it is so incredibly unfun to play against. if you like turning your brain off on support I guess you could enjoy it? but thats at everyone elses expense because nothing dies. its frustrating when fights last over 3 minutes and games go on for 40 minutes or longer
@@aceclopeverything you described is the opposite of fun. I don't think you actually know how damaging goats was for the game, people quit the game in the thousands, 10s of thousands even. People don't like when nothing dies in a shooter game, believe it or not. It's not coming back. And that's a good thing.
ram rein shouldnt work in this mode but wow is it so much fun. you feel like a tag team bullying everyone including your own supports

this is goats all over again buddy, Dps is that one person you have to invite but dont want too.

The misery that is solo tank makes me wonder if perhaps kingmaker is the way to go 🤔 that way the final guy has at least SOMETHING to work with
