I remember back when Seth did his initial face reveal and everyone had the reaction of “I thought you’d look different”. Now he has constant face cams and everything just seems correct. Crazy how much of a difference time can make
Dude. That deck is absolutely janky! The amount of moves you can make and the free plays with the Chandra dressed to kill and the creature abilities m. the learn cards to grab from sidebar. Wow. Solid deck!!! Such low burns too! I fricken love how unassuming it is but too good!!!
26:14 --- I'd say Kessig Flamebreather is strictly better than Thermo-Alchemist. Same cost, +1 power & no defender, doesn't need to tap to ping opponents, plus it triggers on any non-creature spell (rather than just instants/sorceries)
yeah, I think you are correct. I wouldn't say it's strictly better in all formats since creatures with tap abilities sometimes have weird combos with unlimited untapping and whatnot, but as far as Standard is concerned, I think you are right. edit: There is something to be said for the dact that Thermo-Alchemist can deal 1 damage everyturn even when you have no spells.
Do you think that a non-bugdet version of this deck could play some number of Quakebringers? Seems like a good finisher and a way to prevent life gain. You can even fortell it if you have a slow start to curve Chandra into it and it also pings for 2 every turn. Also Rem Karolus could be good with all the burn spell in a non-budget version, but I don't know, the burn plan seems to be pretty reliable on cheap stuff and maybe putting these cards in your deck would make it less consistent.
When I saw some of the Burn goodies in Standard, I was hoping for this, some looked really juicy, enough that I want to fiddle with them in my Legacy Burn build, not sure any will stick, but who knows? I love anything resembling card draw in Red Burn, nice to see a tad in various form in here. I run Risk Factor and some Browbeats for added gas, because 4 isn't bad for 3 mana as weird as it sounds, in the context of them already having 12 damage and walking right into a Fireblast to close. I think of it as adding some diesel to the mix, to extend the Burn output from topping out ~20 and then being in top deck. This still has fuel to either throw spells at problematic creatures or draw some cards when the opponent is low on life. Good times! Edit: Chandra seems really good!
This was a *VERY* promissing build. Since you went Boros, did you consider *Clever Lumimancer* Seth? 3-cost Chandra was also an all-star; any plans to feature her in a Modern build? It would be neat, because you can call the deck _Chandra casts _*_Lightning Bolt_*_ !_
26:58 maybe you should've kept the hazard to exile troll with it and roil eruption? Edit: ah, watched the game to the end and i guess it never mattered since he didn't really use rampor token from it😕
i play a steam kin style burn deck for historic with thermo alchemist. just chain together 1 mana cantrips to grow the steam to get more mana to spend on more cantrips.. all while pinging down with thermo alchemist. it's a ton of fun but not all too consistent lol. maybe time to try something for standard now too, kessig flamebreather is cool because it's noncreature spells and not just "instant or sorcery" like we've seen recently when they moved away from prowess.
What about light up the night it can also go face plus you have Chandra for the flashback I know it is budget I just wanted to get an opinion on the card for this type of deck
Maybe not a good call, but I crafted 3 Chandras. Of course I bought her cosmetic before I had any copy, can you blame me? The regular one looks bad in comparison. Also I'll probably get mastery pass sooner since I want her sleeve. Normally cosmetics have zero value to me.
It's in the non-budget build, but I left it out of the budget build because it's a rare (wouldn't matter in paper since it's cheap, but on Arena a rare is expensive even if it's bulk).
Boros burn without Ren karolus ? Why? You can even play some mass damage removal to win against creature decks with karolus and going face. Fun video anyway :)
The fractions between Houses was reaching a boiling point, even talks of all out war, and since Guilds were extension of Houses. - Morran wasn't big on unnecessary, he was a craftsman, not a blade fighting for a cause. I think Thermo-Alchemist is better since it gives you one damage each turn no matter what. Kessig Flamebreather usually gives zero unless you have a spell to trigger it.
Red isn't the color of freedom. It's the color of exertion. Every time you play mono Red, it's a battle with the clock to see if you can burn your opponent out before you run out of gas. Learning to play Red well means making the most of a small timeframe, not giving yourself breathing room like Blue does.
Doesn't work. Toski has indestructible. Spikefield Hazard says "If a permanent dealt damage this way would die this turn, exile it instead," but Toski will never die to damage, so that clause will never trigger.
I remember back when Seth did his initial face reveal and everyone had the reaction of “I thought you’d look different”. Now he has constant face cams and everything just seems correct. Crazy how much of a difference time can make
Seth is the most beautiful man there is and we are honoured that he decided to share his magnificent beard with us
I don't have anything against Seth's face but I preferred no face cam
I might be weird, but he's almost 100% what I'd expect from his voice.
People expected a skinny pale guy with no beard lol
@@chrisiver8506 Yep that’s what i thought lol nothing wrong with that but when the face reveal happened i was kinda mind blown
Magic missile can’t be countered so you don’t have to pay the ward. Deck is not my style but it actually looks kinda fun.
Ah, good call.
was looking for this :)
"This has GOTTA win us this game! Okay, so what does this emblem do?"
I mean, I knew that it dealt damage, the details were a bit fuzzy though ;)
Budget decks like this are so important to keeping the format fresh, love it.
15:53 seth reinventing bolt the bird with spike the ghast lol
Was having a bad day. Didn’t know that I need a Bloodhound Gang reference to brighten my day. thanks Mr Olive. Really appreciate ya

edit: There is something to be said for the dact that Thermo-Alchemist can deal 1 damage everyturn even when you have no spells.
Thermo can still ping without a spell, if your opponent has a blocker and you don’t have a spell, Thermo can still push damage through
The main difference is that kessig doesn't do anything if you have an empty hand
Thermo Alchemist will inevitably kill your opponent unless they gain life.
Kessig Flamebreather can fail if you can't cast non-creature spells.
@@terraqueo89 that IS very true. I did over look that fact. That is a huge upside
Another great musical intro! Thanks editor.
One other possibility to consider for this kind of deck: There's the two mana light up the stage for a little bit of card advantage.
I don't think that Light Up The Stage is legal in standard.
@@joshyoerger5271 name is different but it does the same thing
Reckless impulse or something

Now I'm thinking about Historic burn... Light up the stage would seem like a good addition there.
Sideboard threaten effects seem ok vs mono g and big threats in general. Have you considered those in the sb?
This deck is so much fun and legit in eatable in BO1 ranked. I added roiling vortexes and laugh at the cleric deck
I’ve been playing reckless impulse for card advantage, it works pretty well in this deck
Reckless Impulse does sound sweet. I might have to give it a try!
Yea, that was my first thought. I've been playing a similar deck with Reckless Impulse instead of Learn spells and it is incredibly good.

every time Chandra pings I want to say hadouken
I love this deck, any turn is the game winning turn.
No reason to pay life when killing Sedgemoor Witch with Magic Missile. Missile can't be countered.
Oops, good call!
i was gonna say the same thing!
Do you think Egg would have a place here at all at a higher budget?
what about showdown of the skalds in sideboard to have the last pounch to close the game vs control?
did you think about the card ancestral anger? i think its one of red best cantrips outside of light up the stage
Burn and infinite life combo in the same standard sweet
Seth, can you try this out in modern? Great video
What about Igneous and Spike the first Goldspan and survive one more turn?
That intro was on point!
This was a *VERY* promissing build. Since you went Boros, did you consider *Clever Lumimancer* Seth?

10:51 you should have found Start from Scratch to destroy Celestus
The export link for the deck on the goldfish page doesn't work, it takes you to the ultra budget version.
Ugh, I'll look into it and get it fixed. Thanks for letting me know.

Did you try Ancestral Anger? It feels like drawing a card might be better in the deck than learning, but maybe the guaranteed spell is better.
Have you tryed Thermo Alchemist infinity combo in standard?
Well there’s that one burn spell that turns into Lightning Bolt when it’s night. (Costs 2 less to cast, 3 mana do 3)
valorous stance is a solid answer to mono green and predator and goldy as well
Ohh, I might have to add that. Seems like a good sideboard option.
Can’t wait to see more modern play
I feel like Rem karolus would've been a great addition to this deck.
Yeah, it's in the non-budget build.
I know it’s no ones favorite match’s, but I would love to see this deck against Izzet to see how it performs.
What about light up the night it can also go face plus you have Chandra for the flashback I know it is budget I just wanted to get an opinion on the card for this type of deck
I had Light up the Night in the deck at first. I think it's good, but ended up cutting it to keep the number of rares as low as possible.
So if I had a copy or 2 would it be great to put it in as an upgrade or no?
No Flame Channeler?
Back to Back Boros!
It's a Boros sort of weekend ;)
@@MTGGoldfish Happy Thanksgiving! You're as burnt as the turkey this week!

uh, now I want to see a non budget standard burn seeing how well this one performed.
If you go to the website, go to articles and at the bottom it has a non budget form, this is for all of his budget decks.
@@charlesalbert5840 oh, i know, I just want a video out of it.

Why not run the non vampire 2 damage wrath from Crimson Vow its 2R at instant speed would be good agains all the cat tokens and x/2 that mono G plays
40:21 Seth's real voice
Burn in standard. Sign me up! I’ll build it right now
That's some new intro 😅 linger on the Ooliiivvvee too much
And we are gonna let it burn, burn, burn
Frog Stompy next??
g2m1, Start from scrach destroys the anoying Celestus!
Chandra definitely needs to be in modern burn seems insane to me.
I know this is suppose to be Budget, but I feel like Radiant Scrollweaver is a must in Boros burn
I would get matched vs clerics 5 times if i tried this deck.
AGGHHHH YOU COULDVE SPIKED THE TOSKI
Ren K should be in here.
Yeah, it's in the non-budget build. Didn't make the budget build because it's a rare :(
I would love for this to become popular, my Mono-green deck would have a blast!
You need Abrade somewhere against mono Green...

Spikefield the toski

I love you Seth but I feel like you play aggro decks like you're playing control, trying to keep your life total as high as possible. Just burn face!
