Just swung my bonesaber hybrid 33/30 today it's one of the best feeling and sounding bbcor bats I've ever swung! Can't wait for yall to do hybrid bat madness for bbcor!
I've never heard of braking in a bat.....learn something new everyday. It's been 30 years since I wore a uniform though..... all we had back in the day was Louisville Sluggers and Easton.....from Walmart.
Great video as always. Interesting thoughts on the Cat X. My son swung a Cat 9 Comp the last half of his 12u year and his entire 13U year and absolutely smashed baseballs with it. He finished his 13U year swing it and except for the obvious signs of wear from swinging it for almost 2 full seasons doesn't have a ripple, seam or anything on it. It is currently hanging in its place of honored retirement on the garage wall as he has moved on to the world of BBCOR, his current gamer is a Victus Knox, which he is thinking of moving to a Cat X Connect. Enjoy the vids and it would be awesome to see the bat bros back in Louisiana.
My kid is in U13. Not swing a fraction as hard as this guy. This might sound like a dumb question, but how hard do the swings and ball speed matter as far as breaking these bats go?
@@Caper1144you supposed to hit 100 balls at half swings the slowly increase to full swing contact but I wouldn’t worry to much the catx composite is tough son love his
The Monarchs are a great team. Whenever they come into town to play the Salt Dogs we make it a point to go. The players, managers, etc. are always super cool to my, and others, kids. They make attending the game a lot of fun. Awesome bat review as always, and the stache is coming in nicely 🙂
My son has the Cat X Composite and loves it. He bought it as an upgrade to his Cat 9 2-piece alloy. We saw the Rawlings Icon at the BeachFest tournament in Panama City Beach over New Years and it looks awesome. Great video as always, Will.
Looking at all these bats man brings back great memories. My favorite bat was the Original mako, I hit my first home run using it. At 10 weighing 75lbs i hit one 275. My next favorite was the CF7, then once I hit the full 90 foot diamond I used the Rawlings 5150 something about the ping of an aluminum bat was so satisfying i hit probably about 20 balls in game close to 400. Unfortunately none were ever a homer. None were pulled all just backside or up the middle. Take me back to when I still played man
I have the Quattro pro and I actually really like it. Took me a couple different sessions to get used to the barrel but it has tons of pop and is a fun bat to use. No handle taper doesn’t make any sense so I had to add one
live about 20 min from this field, so crazy youve been to lawrence as well to hit with the jayhawks, kauffman and here. You guys should have like a meet and greet around here next time you come, i think it would be a big turn out!
The icon I feel would fit me the best. But it's because I feel I get more power with a tighter grip and I don't have huge hands, so the thin bat handle would work well. And that could be the case for you also..
Ive been looking for a new bat for my son who is moving into 10u. He has had variations of the Rawlings Velo but I figured I would get him a 2 piece composite for his birthday. I wanted to get him a Hype Fire or Cat X Comp but I ended up getting a Rawlings Icon for $199…that is like $200 less than the others. Rawlings is having some great clearance sales on their bats, including Icon, Threat, Velo and 5150.
@baseballbatbros Just curious but it may serve as a potential content Idea too. For swinging the USSSA bats that are much lighter than BBCOR, I wonder if putting one of those swing weights on the bat would increase exit velo. Not the donuts, but I saw one that wrapped on the barrel taper and would let you swing with it on. As we know, more weight = more power.
My son loves his catx composite season and half and bat shows no sign of breaking down , 12 doubles 4 triples 4 homers at varsity fields not bad for a 14u kid🎉🎉
I'd love to see you do a TH-cam hitting coach mechanics comparison. I'd love to hear what you have to say about how a few compare and which one you feel like changes your power.
My son has the CAT9 past time senior league and the CAT9 2pc composite. The alloy has so much more power and I thought it was supposed to be the opposite?
You guys should do a video in which you guys test out all the new Easton ADV 2023 Easton bats for USSSA ( like the encore hype and Alpha ALX) and see which one is the best
First of all thanks for a great video. Did you do an exit velo w the cat x alloy? I bought my son that bat and I wish I had done composite. I’m nervous w composites because April and May games in Cleveland can be cold. How much of a difference is there between the two Cat Xa? Is there any advantage to the alloy? Thanks.
The hype 2023 is the most underrated bat in usssa. Its balanced and it has a MASSIVE barrel. Using the hype, I reached one of my highest velos and distance with the bat. I recommend the hype.(P.S, I love your channel will, I bet you won’t pin me😉)
The -5 still has a short endloaded barrel, but there’s a good chance they designed the drop 8/drop 10 totally different. Easton tends to do that a lot more frequently than other bat companies
My son, 13U, has a Cat 9 31/26 -5. He is a power hitter. 5 ft 7 inches and about 180. He had a growth spurt and needs a longer bat. He loves that the cat 9 is more end loaded compared to the Cat x. Having trouble finding a Cat 9 32 -5. Which of those bats are comparable to the cat 9 as far as being end loaded the same way?
I have the compact and it took a while for me to like it. You have to break it in a lot till that sweet spot starts coming out. Great bat just takes a long time to break in
I got a good video idea, what it takes to really hit 110, find normal people off the street and compare them to people who play baseball alot just to show how hard it really is to hit 100mph or 110mph exit velo, I bet alot of people think their kid is hitting 100mph exit velo if they buy a certain bat, it will show how important practice is and weight training
