Good clip. You can use steam valves on those steam engines. Using valves you can turn them off when not needed. If you also add a right angle pipe to the valve you can stack the boilers and have the controller on the top or bottom. The whole thing will be one block shorter. The three from the boilers and the engine, the controller won't be sticking out, it'll be on top or bottom of boilers. I all ways use steam valves. You can open when enemy is in range or you can open when needed when power goes down. They don't like EMP so keep that in mind.
So I know about steam valves but deliberately stayed away from them due to EMP susceptibility, have you not have had fatal issues due to that?
@@GMODISM I fill the space around them with surge protectors. I don't do tournaments like you but never had a problem with in game. You could put the whole thing on rubber. You shouldn't have to go all the way around with the rubber. It would save a lot of resources with valves. You could turn them on only when needed for power.
@@anamerican1054 yeah, could also turn of the burners to a lower rate when not in combat, would work for campaign well enough, then there is that the gimle is a tad bit too large for regular ingame use anyways, I feel coating in rubber like I always do is a weakpoint and unessesary cost for a toruament vessel
@@GMODISM It'll take a few seconds for them to get power up doing that. You don't stack the boilers because the pipes are a weak point? Isn't a pipe about the same as a boiler?

Is this real footage of creation of Gimle? How much hours you had in game when starting this project? Because with 500 hours of experiene i first build hull then putting armament :D
Yeah this was actually a series published before but with so many new people on the channel I wanted to re-edit the series into one big experience :) I don’t know but got over 2000 hours now. There is no right and wrong but I usually build a ship around the armaments that I preselect like in this case!
