@17:50, I saw rivers, horses, ancient masses, babies in gestation and so much more! I can picture this at the entrance to the elevator and while waiting this catches your view, forcing one to linger a bit longer to find meaning to this masterpiece and the next elevator.
There seems to be a pattern on this planet IMO. Leaves and tree branches resemble human veins, drone and aero shots show rivers and minimalistic shots carving their way with similar dreams, and these roots to this tree seem to twist along a windy river. The patterns to me, show life searching for a way. WE are all connected. Great shots, Adam. The tree at the end really moved me somehow. Thank you.
What an incredible location! Must admit, I’m very partial to the blue look (or at least, muted warm look) in dawn and dusk shots. Lovely work, Adam, as always. Tell Brian he can analyse the poops more accurately with a taste test!
Stunning photography Adam! I also really appreciate seeing the raw file and then the edited file. Thankyou for sharing with us, both the photography and your commentary🤩.
Great video and pictures! The RAW-File at 18.15 is absolutely amazing. It looks like some surface of a planet being lit by the sun from the side and the other half lies in the shade. Even love the RAW-Version more than the edit :-)
Thanks Adam…love the composition and colours of those seaweed shots towards the end of the video. You always manage to find and make great images despite the “hostile” conditions! 👍👍👍
So many inspiring ideas and shots! 2018 we were on Muir Creek beach on labour day and no more than 20 people, lots of wildlife and the fossilised sea shells in the cliff face are interesting.
Some stunning photographs Mister Gibbs, i really enjoy the raw file before and the after. Those patterns in the aged tree trunk are simply divine in texture and detail, sell them as background layers for portraiture photographers or AI software developers, not that Im either of those but they are pretty special
Oh, Adam, I saw you and Brian twice that weekend in Ucluelet, on that Saturday the two of you and another person rushed towards the sunset on the Rim trail in direction of the Broken Islands so I thought you guys must be on a mission and when I returned to the car park at the lighthouse, your camper was parked just beside our rented Canadream Camper. With all the cool stickers, yours is easy to recognize. On Sunday, you and Brian were on a mission again, this time though in the other direction of the Rim trail. I was actually taking pictures from the rim and probably posed a bit of an obstacle for you, but by the time I realized it was you and Brian, you were already down the trail. Nevertheless, just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your meticulous work and that you’re part of the reason why we visited this part of our country. Thanks and keep up the great work.
At 6:15 I slammed on the brakes and backed up for a closer look. 120 sec exposure in broad daylight, you can do that (fully clothed thankfully). It totally erased all those distracting sunlit ripples and replaced them with a water color style wash that lets the rocks take center stage.
I had follow your path, when there is nothing special to take photo, look for small detail or pattern shot. But man, the wood pattern is just otherworldly. Stunning.
With the seastacks: that’s the reason i bought a tripod of 2 meters hight. I have used it very much for not overlapping stacks, trees or whatever. Downside is the weight of the tripod, but i take that for it is. Beautiful images of the treetrunk to Adam. Thnx.
Tree shots with the extension tube were fabulous! What's the possibility of overlaying the shots with a number (1, 2 ,3 etc, with the shot data)? It would make talking about them much easier, and I think may be better than trying to call them out by time stamp. The sequence would be per vlog; I don't think there's any reason to keep track of a sequence across all vlogs- I assume that could get onerous. Just say'in...
I especially like the fact that you show the raw file then the edited file. I think that's one of the most useful things for us as learning photographers
Oh Oh extension tube, how long, 2cm? 4.5cm? Joking aside love the close ups of the wood then just when I'm thinking I won't shoot the sea this weekend you put up the last shot! Well that and there are no trees near me!
The driftwood detail shots were nice surprises... sometimes the low-stakes 'plan b' shoots, when landscaping isn't working out, end up being the most satisfying
Good timing (for me) with this vid Adam, coming out end of next week for a 2 week family visit, plus a few nights in Tofino. A little inspiration goes a long way. Thanks.
I watch these channels for inspiration and ideas, like a spark to get me out there shooting - those last abstract tree textures has done just that. Seeing art in places most people would walk past or take as part of a much larger scene and miss the intimacy of those images. Love it!
Excellent video. It was great that you took advantage of the conditions presented, rather than giving up. Wonderful shots, and very inspirational. Cheers.
That is the most interesting tree I’ve ever seen, I could look at those photos for hours and never lose interest. Makes me wonder how old it really is and why it looks the way it looks.
Beautiful images Adam, the patterns remind me of the shapes we get in the rocks of the Burren here in Ireland. Kept waiting for Gavin to pop up with "subscribe" every time you mentioned the lichen! You made the right call chasing him out of your neck of the woods 😉
Hi Adam, maybe you could use your RhinoRack as a stand for doing "epic" landscape shots. Reminiscent of another great photographer Ansell Adams as he used a platform built on his old station wagon to take photographs from, sometimes he even put a ladder on the platform. Your first image wowed me as when the edit came up, I said to myself "that's lovely" 🤩 I loved the "tree squid" shot. You mention the heat. Didn't hurricane Ian draw in some very warm air for the whole of north America? I heard Greenland had temps of 19c during the storm that week. We have had very mild temps here in Scotland lately too only thing is this weather is usually accompanied by very wet conditions too. Some of the edits on the detail shots at the end are superb. We are well into autumn here in bonnie Scotland, so I am hopeful of getting out to make some shots with lots of colourful leaf/tree action...ATB.
I feel as though I got two lessons/expos in this one video, contemporary landscape and intimate detail photography! Hey Adam, how do you post process subjects like the tree root? Another exceptional movie, thanks!
So beautiful. I want to go there and just run my hand over those wonderful roots. What kind of journey did it have to get there? It must have been a huge storm to heave that onto the beach.
Very good and inspiring images! Well, time ago wandering on my mountains I've found a bear's chocolate and I've taken a picture of it to send to a group of biologist studying this small group of italian bears... the first thing they asked me? "Did you smell it?" If you did not smell it you cannot be part of the bear's club! They said it could be very sweet and fruity tasting hahaha
Vancouver Island has it all. Been going there for years. Went out to Yuquot this summer aboard the Uchuck III, with camera. Also fished Johnstone Strait. Visited Tofino years ago, time to go back. Hiked the Wild Pacific Coast Trail out of Uclulet a few years ago. Thanks for your concentrated focus on the beautiful! JR
Just wow! Loved all these shots (though i admit being crazy over the place especially ‘off-season’). The Broken Islands layered shot… magnifique, even the foreground rocks are layered! Hope you return there in storm season.
It always amazes me how flexible you are in shooting scenes on any given outing. Instead of forcing shots you change gears and shoot what makes sense based on the conditions you're dealt. A lesson I could stand to practice myself!
Good to hear Brian toss out a "hey bear" the universal dialect in the animal kingdom meaning we come in peace and won't pilfer your berries😉 Seriously though I really enjoyed seeing your pattern shots of the stumps and logs. When I start doing those I lose track of time.
You may want to consider installing the owning on the passenger side (that is if you do have a sliding door on the opposite side) because if you plan on stopping by the side of the road to shoot off your vehicle or picnicking you can open your owning, which you cannot do if on the driver side since it will open towards the middle of the road.
Woo, Erwin’s video is, well, unusual but yet compelling. Im thinking it’s a very clever work of fiction and animation but I love his style! So does that make you want to go stalk mythical creatures in the forests of Vancouver? Anything there that won’t eat your face off? Lol
Some of those wood detail images remind me of lava flows. I wonder what they'd look like if you got really creative with color layers. Artsy-fartsy as it were. Good stuff.
Simply awesome work Adam!! I particularly loved to see what you were able to get with the 100-200, as I just purchased the lens and haven't used it very much yet. I hadn't realized you could get that close with that lens. Ditto on the 17:51 mark.
Adam, informative and insightful video as always! Got a question for you...what ever happened to your good bud, Jeremy? I recall the epic video where he and you went out and caught some wonderful fall colors at a lake (whose name escapes me at the moment). No matter how many fall color shoots one does, there is plenty of room in everyone's portfolio for more fall color images, right?🤔
It is not easy to pull really compelling details from a scene. People think it’s something to do as a last resort. Wrong. There aren’t many on TH-cam doing this because it takes a special eye. The grand landscapes mostly look the same, but make for a better video.
I love the way find something no matter what.
Love the pattern of the side-lit driftwood and the moving kelp.
Oh, wow - love those shots of the tree trunk! They look like aerial shots of a lava flow. Beautiful.
@17:50, I saw rivers, horses, ancient masses, babies in gestation and so much more! I can picture this at the entrance to the elevator and while waiting this catches your view, forcing one to linger a bit longer to find meaning to this masterpiece and the next elevator.
Love the image at 03:00. The image at 17:50 reminds me of Van Gogh's "Starry Night". A very creative vlog! Thank you!
Awesome Adam. I think I know where you stood to take those shots around the 3-minute mark, looking down into the Broken Islands. Stunning!
It's good to see you're not 'chasing awe'... You've clearly arrived 👌👍
There seems to be a pattern on this planet IMO. Nice, thanks! (18mins = “the Shout” emulation, Edvard Munch)
Stunning work as always Adam, I loved that image at 17:51!
Wow! The photos of the wood texture reminded me of the sky in Van Gogh's paintings.
I saw faces and body parts in the patterns :)
when Adam's new video notice comes... first we like it, then watch it! because it's sure to be another video with amazing content!
🙌
I've 👍 then forget to watch the video! The man is a Genius!
Love those seaweed abstracts at the end
Stunning photography Adam! I also really appreciate seeing the raw file and then the edited file. Thankyou for sharing with us, both the photography and your commentary🤩.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Stunning place to be!😍
Some really rich images there, Adam!
Love the last two images with the kelp. Beautiful. Makes me miss Tofino and Ukee
Love the driftwood shots, especially the one at 17:47. There are worlds hidden in these patterns … exquisite!
I love your detail wood images I see Edward Munch paint in some of them with their curve lines
Wow that morning light was awesome
Great video and pictures!

Adam I really liked your detail shots and the last image, the abstract, was beautiful
Congrats - good decision to go there 👏
Some stunning photographs Mister Gibbs, i really enjoy the raw file before and the after.

I think some of these are some of your best work mate! So nice!
amazing photos! the gray tree patterns reminded me of elephant skin

Great to hear!
Tree pattern shots look like some surface of a distant moon or planet..... Amazing!!!
Thx so much Adam. Very inspiring and soothing video. You made my day!
My pleasure!
Wow, those wood pattern shots are sensational.
Thanks a lot!
loved the tree root details... wonderful intimate landscapes...
Many thanks!
Oh Oh extension tube, how long, 2cm? 4.5cm?

Sounds great!
The master at work. Loved them all. The foggy sunrise, gnarly trees with the pretty patterns, and seaweed? Beautiful. 👍
Would love to have a set of prints of those wood patterned images for the house. Another great video and excellent photography.
Fabulous

Fantastic video Adam and absolutely fantastic photos enjoyed the video thank you for sharing it
Stunning photos Thanks for the inspiration Have some ideas now for the next trip out when it feels like there's nothing to shoot

Love the detail shots. Just got back from O'Hara - surprisingly warm as well - only dropped to 3 C at night.
Yeah that is unseasonably warm.
Very good and inspiring images!

Thanks 👍
Enjoyed very much

Interesting how you made the water at 6:20 appear like clouds enveloping the tips of the mountains.

Ukee never disappoints. Great shots Adam. Your channel is always an inspiration for me. One day maybe we can shoot together.. I'm based in Victoria.
Simply awesome work Adam!! I particularly loved to see what you were able to get with the 100-200, as I just purchased the lens and haven't used it very much yet. I hadn't realized you could get that close with that lens. Ditto on the 17:51 mark.
You will need an extension tube for most close up work as the minimum focus distance with that lens is not brilliant.
@@QuietLightPhoto Thanks, I will keep that in mind. I missed that you were using one. Fuji does make a macro lens, but I haven't looked into it.
I'd like a large serving of Lichen leaf clam chowder please, it looks delicious!
(Unless that's what's given the bear indigestion!)
I get the same problem when I eat too many of those berries.
Well there you go bears don't shit in the woods, shit between bits of wood though 🤣
For a moment, when you was doing the close up shot, oh no he’s going to shoot Bear shit!!
Adam, if you had used shorter lenses, could you have gotten the same quality in the end?
Yes!
Adam, informative and insightful video as always!
Got a question for you...what ever happened to your good bud, Jeremy? I recall the epic video where he and you went out and caught some wonderful fall colors at a lake (whose name escapes me at the moment). No matter how many fall color shoots one does, there is plenty of room in everyone's portfolio for more fall color images, right?🤔
Adam, what's the tripod are you using in 9min31sec of this video?
Bears shit on the beach, won’t be the only ones if a Bear comes out.
Luckily no Bears were harmed in making this vlog.
Stay safe 🇦🇺
so the answer to the question, does a bear shit in the woods ? is no he uses the beach
After Brian’s bear search……………..he was never seen again!
An elephants's eye
