You need to prime the ink cartridges. There are loads of videos you can watch. Basically, fill your new cartridges with sub ink, plug vent hole, insert empty syringe into fill hole and pull up on plunger. You’ll create a vacuum that will pull ink into the hollow circle part of the cartridge. Plug fill hole, unplug vent hole and run a couple cleaning cycles and it should print.

No, it's fine. I wouldn't do regular ink with an Ecotank, but in cartridge printers, it's fine. The real reason to do it is to make sure the refurbished printer prints as expected. I've done this with all 4 of the refurbished printers that I've done to date.

Can I convert and already used (with factor ink) epson printer into a sublimation printer. Will I have to print a number of sheets before trying to transfer to clothing, to make sure all the factor in is gone?
I never understand why people say this... Whoever told you this has zero understanding of exactly how things actually work (The manufacturing/refurbishing/troubleshooting process)... When buying a sublimation printer, I usually just buy a refurb, because we're voiding the warranty anyway. As part of the refurbishing process, the printheads are inked and tested using standard Epson ink. Based on your logic, the damage is already done at that point. But, let's say that it isn't that way.. and you put sublimation ink directly in. If it doesn't print, how to you troubleshoot a printer that isn't really known whether or not it works? You could be chasing a problem that's printhead related or anything else. IF it's a cartridge printer, I will ALWAYS test with the factory inks, just to confirm that the printer is function prior to the conversion process. My mind cannot be changed on this. On EcoTank printers, you should go straight to dye sub.

@@SouthpawsStudio thank you!
Cheapest I've seen was like $500 for one of these on amazon. They really that cheap onn the manufacturer website?
Those are typically 3rd party seller gouging the market. I found mine for $109 directly through Epson.
@@SouthpawsStudio Hi! I love your channel. I’m so glad I found you. As soon as I get my stimulus I’m going to be buying. Do you know of any deals right now ? Also, what else would I need to buy? I thank you so so much!
Can I convert and already used (with factor ink) epson printer into a sublimation printer.
Will I have to print a number of sheets before trying to transfer to clothing, to make sure all the factor in is gone?
No, you can't.
He just did regular ink with the test page
And then changed out the tanks 🤔

Yay! Thank you!
I have an eco tank that has factory ink in it and I want to convert it to sublimation ink can I do that? If I can can you doa video showing how?
No you can't. Once it's had regular ink in it, there's no way to fully clean it out.
I am Haitian, I have my printer that is not working properly epson 7710
U should of never put the regular ink in first
I never understand why people say this...
Man your pushing air into the carts slow down you will have to get it out of you push that hard slow pushing ink into carts
No longer under $200 and they're all sold out
I wish it was that much I seen$900 for it
Would a Epson WF 3820 work with the conversion
dang i accidently tried to fill the blue like the black. will that mess it up
No, it should be fine. Might have a few more bubbles than normal, but it'll sort out.
