I only in the last days of your the hike came to view your vlogs. You are truly an amazing story teller . I have seen other vlogers of the AT each one tell a story from a different perspective but you immerse the viewer in such a way that you feel you’re on the trail with you especially your camera angles and the way you move the camera ahead of you. It is just such an experience. I can’t wait to see you summit and hear that story is finally told by you, you’ve already some of it by the time you read this, but you are truly gifted. God as well pleased.
Love this video. You have been a part of my recovery from knee surgery. Walking the AT with you and all the other hiking along the way has giving me the courage to push myself to recover.. I had knee repair surgery in Feb so it’s been awesome for me have something to look forward to just about everyday. I have a trip planned in September (from Louisiana) to meet my brother in Gatlinbury and we’re going to hiking. We’re both in our 60’s but we’re excited. I have him hocked on following the AT TH-cam hikers. I’m so proud of you and all the others for this journey. You didn’t a amazing job on showing the truth good and bad. I thanks you. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!! I hope that the transition is going smoothly. Seeing the photo of youse guys on Washington brought back memories of when I went to Washington, but by vehicle with a friend. I took a winter jacket. It was 3 Sept 2006 and 93* on the bottom. When we got to the top, I put on my winter jacket, because the wind chill was 32*. My friend was wearing a T-shirt. I'm unable to cite his remarks, because of the language. LOL!!! I can say that my lineage was questioned. LOL!!! It was perfectly cloudless!!!! We got lucky!!! You've faced the adversity of the trail accompanied with life and survived. I salute you!!!!! You've got an inner strength that youse didn't realize at the beginning, but found it at the end.
Well it’s the penultimate day and after tomorrow the emotions will run free. A well deserved achievement. BSP is a magical place and is a true wilderness with at least 250 square miles of roadless area within the perimeter road. Not like the 100 mile with roads and supply options. The wildlife have never been hunted for enough animal generations to become tolerant of humans. I’ve camped there many times and have walked up within feet of birds. I’ve seen a moose charge at full speed through my campsite. I had a moose with two yearlings bed down less than 50 feet from our bunk house at Chimney Pond. I once had a fox wander into our site like a dog would and crazily enough, had a standoff with a male deer while descending the Hunt trail. Like I said, magical. Through hikers almost never get to experience the true wonders of this gift to the people of Maine and everybody else who visits for only a day. I’ve hiked extensively in the Whites and loved every minute of it but Baxter is just special.

Thanks for sharing some of the most personal parts of your TH with us. I completed section hiking from MD/PA line to the northern terminus 2 years ago, but it seems like yesterday. At 61 I hope to complete the rest of the trail after my mother passes. She's 95 now, in good health, but I still travel from CT to NC to spend two of my vacation weeks a hear with her because we never know if we'll see each other again. The trail isn't going anywhere so I'm in no rush. I would first re-hike the 100MW and enjoy every moment like Poet suggested. 🕊🥰
