There was a theory a fan made along with a comic that Mr. Krabs took in Pearl when she was a baby when he saw her mother dead (caused by the fishermens). Which is why Mr. Krabs didn't want Spongebob to get involved with fishing hooks or why he tends to say *Mother of Pearl!* in the series. Despite this is not canonically proven (and may never will be because Spongebob is a child-friendly show), I kind of liked this theory. EDITED: I take it back that Spongebob is a child friendly show. Plankton promotes cannibalism whenever he sell his food which are basically fish intestines or so...

No disrespect to the guy at all, I'm sure he did the very best that he could, but I'm glad he was replaced for the Broadway show, and imo they could not have found a more perfect replacement.

To be honest, I think that stereotypical spoild bratty demeanor was an act because she knows that Mr Krabs loves one thing more than anything and that is money. Because lets face it Mr Krabs did not spoil his daughter. If Mr Krabs spends money on her that would mean to her that he loves her more than his money thats why she tries to get him to buy the things she takes any interest in that are expensive and she cries when she doesn't get it because she thinks that he loves his money more than her, his daughter. Or maybe I'm just overthinking things.
A Random Guy their cast album I think was released before they made it to Broadway because this Mr. Krabs is in the OBC and not the cast album, same with Wesley Taylor. They made a lot of changes to all the songs but never made an updated album

Her voice is incredible but... can we talk about how Spongebob just put the dress around his neck like he was going to try it on???? I love this musical and the small and weird things about it. It makes this musical so much better.

Pearl just freaking Beyonce-ed this performance, and Mr Krabs actor killed it too, his voice is sooo similar to Clancy Brown. Personally this is my favourite musical number out of the whole performance.
I just wanna appreciate (as much as this clip doesn't actually show it) that when I've watched other recordings of this song in the show, pearl actually grabs out of her pockets little water pods (or that's what it looked like) and after Krabs says "I'm sorry pearl did you say something?" Pearl basically cries like she did in the cartoon with loud bellowing yells and large sprays of water coming from her. As much as I could rave and scream for how much I love her vocals and I love his realistic voice portrayal, I love the details of props and costuming they have throughout this show that just demonstrate how much care and adoration the production had for its origins.
Leanne Needs a Life They actually removed that effect near the end of the Broadway run because sometimes Pearl had trouble getting them out of her pockets or sometimes they didn’t work altogether.
Ok but like just saying the person acting as Mr. Krabs has some extreme talent because I probably wouldn’t have been able to catch a single one of those sacks of money, especially with those claw-boxing glove- thingys.

My school did a SpongeBob musical and it was awesome! The very beginning was pretty funny cause the actor they had for SpongeBob fell even though he wasn’t supposed to and got back up and acted like it was part of the show, as well as most of the actors my school had was in a play before called curtains and I was a character in it named Daffodil! (As well as a few days ago when I called one of my classmates Tony since he was Tony Tenner in Curtains he gave me a side eye lol )

This girl inspired me so much. My school is one in few that is doing this show, and I was lucky enough to get casted as Pearl. As someone who is getting leading roles as of late, this made me really happy to watch after getting casted as her. Her voice is so soothing, I could listen to this on repeat. and Also Brian did amazing! when I first saw this I genuinely thought it was the original voice actor for Mr. Krabs. They both are spectacular! I know they will go far. UPDATE: Opening Night is Tomorrow!
