I think alot of people are missing the true finesse of this song. You all hear the soloist (who was AMAZING) and its like you miss the meaning of the SONG. If you listen to the lyrics while they sing them [beautifuly, i might add].. You will have to cry everytime. Everytime i watch this ballad i tear up at the very least. The vocals, the emotion, everything that this choir put into this song has made it one of the most meaningful ballads ever to hit the show choir stage. Major, major props.
WOW! GORGEOUS arrangement! I love this song and like ethangeoffrey, it gets me every time. I thought it was a powerful song the first time I heard it on a Christian radio station years ago. My boyfriend is a U.S. Marine and the song has even more meaning now. I had a hard time sometimes while he was deployed, but I can't imagine what his family must have been going through. He is still their little boy. Thank you to all those who serve so that we don't have to. I could never do what you guys do.
I was proud Senior the year we did this show. I will never forget singing this song. By far the most memorable year that I was in it. Still gives me goosebumps and I even catch myself singing along like I hasn't been but a day since. I miss the friends that I made, but I love to see these kinds of moments happen now with my own showchoir kiddos.
Every single time I watch this, I get goosebumps. Amazing song choice, amazing emotion, amazing vocals, over all amazing. What an honor it must have been to be in this choir. I can only pray my choir has half this much emotion when we sing. Great job guys and girls. =)

This is the first choir i've watched sing this song like they know the meaning behind it. Every other choir sings it like any other song, the key to making good music is putting emotion into it. Especially in a song like this that speaks to so many in our nation right now. THANK YOU
i have watched this video sooo many different times, and i meet the man who wrote it and every time i hear these kids do it i tear up when they get to the part of the son coming home. i know its coming but i still get a tear everytime. the tone hits the emotions beautifully!

the voices as one are great but Donniedarkohugs.. think about it.. do you think if they can't get the right notes with their voices..(or his voice) don't you that they will have worse lck. It isn't them that are bad.. just the teacher. I have seen a tone deaf person go to lead in the play because of our music Teachers. ^_^ you guys did very well just.. sing to together more often.
the soloist is awesome and the choir is excellent as well, but I have to say the harmony is so overpowering that the melody is lost in half the song. overall I thought it was very very good, though.
