My guy I move in to my house in 20 days and I am a plumber and was a stone and brick mason for 6 years and I am going to be doing a lot of stuff to this house my self. You basically have a full playlist on my TH-cam 😂. Great job man keep it up. House looks 👀 great.
@matthewpicklesimer293 eh.? Oh yea. No problemo 👌 I do this for the love of humanity and not for money. The young generation need guidance is this life. It is of paramount importance to give the right guidance.
I truly liked your video. I just hate that it goes so fast. I know nothing about tiling but my uncle has given me the courage to do it myself and he suggested that I go on TH-cam and you were my first video. Thank you.
Nice job! Don’t you wish the project took as long as this video took to watch. It’s always worth it in the end when you’re standing there with a cold beer looking at what you just accomplished!
I appreciate the disclosure about not being a professional tiler and that you're open to better way of doing things. I've watched SO MANY tiling tutorials on TH-cam in preparation for some DIY tiling and you're the FIRST to make such a comment, cheers! Pretty much EVERY tutorial I've watched so far goes about tiling VERY differently without ever acknowledging WHY their chosen method is superior or that they're aware of alternative methods AT ALL. It's actually really disheartening when people giving tutorials do so with such confidence and authority without ever acknowledging that there could be a better way. All they would have to do is search for like tutorials to see just how differently other people do things. So again, I thank you for your honesty and humility.
thank you for all the editing time it must have taken to only show the really key points. With about 98% of youtube videos, you sit through 90 minutes of video to get 9 minutes of worthwhile content. Yours is a nine minute video with 9 minutes of germane content. Well done
I appreciate it, Roy! I try my best to cut straight to the point (since I’ve been on the other side of many “fluff” videos as well), but there is always room for improvement. Thanks for the support!
Awesome job. Im getting ready to lay my walk in shower and three small floors . I was quoted a rediculous amount of money to do the shower once and that was it for me. Im gonna do it myself.
Often time these DIY videos by contractors annoy me.. they are way to convoluted and they often just suck at talking in general. I often find myself speeding up the playback to 1.5 just so I dont fall asleep. This video is absolutely perfect.. straight to the point.
What I was looking for, and thought I saw, is that tile is cut through out the tiling process - Not all cut prior to install. Also, since the Thinset is good for four hours (+/-) did you mix part of it several times through the process? Finally, bucket cleanup. I assume the same bucket is used for each batch of Thinset. How did you prepare the bucket before its next use? How was the waste disposed of? Thank you in advance. Great video - Thanks for sharing.
For a wall over and around a vanity Would you still use kerdi board and Schlueter membrane and make it all water tight email though it’s not part of the bathing area?
I think you did an excellent job, and what I really liked was your very thorough explanations of each step. That is what sets your video above so many others. Really very good, and helpful.
Andrew! thank you for the tutorial of your diy bathroom! I'm also starting my 80 sq ft bathroom by myself. I do have a couple questions in regard to how my process should go like what order etc. etc. what your best advice is as to where to start?
Great video 👍 Im nee to tiling and already started tiling my shower walls, what would be the ideal choice of trowel for 12x24 wall tile? I read everywhere that I have to go with 1/2 inch notch, i started using 1/4 x 3/8 which is stated to be used for 12x12 tile and 12x24 is essentially two 12 inch tiles fused together, so i see no point in using 1/2 trowel at all, especially that you have no room to move the tile to collapse ridges.
Hey Gabriel, the wall tile took about about a week. Day 1-2 to install the tiles, Day 3-4 to let the thinset cure, Day 5 to remove the spacers and clean any dried thinset, Day 6 to grout, and day 7 to caulk. Thanks for watching!
I got high and put the schluter system upside down with the ridges down but I still filled it with schluter underlayment can I still tile over it as in the manufacture it says it doesn’t really have a front of back
Fabulous video and job! How did you clean the mortar from the grout joints? Did you run a putty knife through the joints? Seems like sponge alone might not get the joint fully clean. Thanks again!
How flush should wall tiles should be flush relative to each other? A handy man tiled my walls, but there is an obvious dip(v-shaped) between two tiles and one is sticking out by a few millimeters(1/16 - 1/8).

Well done son.

@Xavier Finn happy to help xD
I'm m a first timer on putting tiles, and this video is 100 percent helpfully. Thank You
Glad it helped!
looks dope. you should make a japanese style bath one of these days where it has a shower, a bath tub. and the whole floor is a drain.

Good job my friend 👍👍👍
awesome and clean job, you make it look so easy,, can you a detailed video from grouting?
Could you please do step by step pluming jobs involved for this renovation?
Looks great. I'm guessing your floor was dead level as most aren't and you end up having to cut slivers off.
Nice work. Very inspiring. Your link to episode 2 (which I am trying to watch) goes into episode 1. 😁

Hi mate, did you apply glue to the back of the wall sheeting for added strength to hold the weight of the tiles or is this not needed?
I'm getting ready to tile my bathroom with 31x31. Great job! Please tell me your plant hanger!
Good luck! I actually made a quick little video on the plant hanger - check it out!
It looked like you installed Schluter membrane over Durock USG Waterproof. Is that necessary?
Thought the same, I thought you can install schluter directly on the studs (just like wedi board)
Good job brother looks great!
Love the new look!
I appreciate it, Thanks!
Great job!
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching 👍
When tiling a bathroom- should I do the shower or the floor first?
Most pros do the floor last
Thanks !
I use the dewalt cordless grinder to cut outlet’s ( thin blade)
Hi, nice job. What is the orange surface over top of the backer board ?
Question, Why did you tile right over to the door jamb and not first put the door trim on and then tile to the
trim?
Very good video 💯❤❤❤💖💖❤❤❤💖💯💯💯

Have a question. How did you finish a door casing over tiles as the tiles are sticking out more than the door frame itself

Looks professionally done bro. I’ve been wanting to do my bathroom; but my wife won’t allow me though. She is scared I’ll mess it up.
I appreciate it, Mike! haha and I hear you on that. Worst case scenario you can hire someone to come in after you. But I think you got this!
You will
Thank you that is nice , thinking of simpler way nothing like real quality of tile,.

I didnt clean much in the grout lines. Do I need clean it out before I grout?
Did you use a special trim around the door?
What do you use to attach the dipole board to the wall?
Good job ❤

Nice job!. What's the color of the grout?
Watching 👀 how you done -can say is not that hard.
Like your explaining

Nicely done man!!
How did you make the step over for the shower do you have any videos on how that's made?
About to start on my first job in the laundry room. Do you have a list of things i should buy to make this as least complicated as possible?
How did you attach the crown molding to the tile and ceiling?

You tiled from the bottom up, did the tile end up where the tile didn't need to be trimmed
Is it possible to put tile like this over existing dry wall, or do I need to rip out the old dry wall and put on what you did?
Hey what machine did you use to cut the tiles?
Hi! Wet tile saw and an angle grinder with a diamond wheel.
