    I wash my hands after 60 seconds of Blue across sitting on the nail, I’ll do all four fingers at once and the thumbs on their own since if your finger is sideways Blue Cross runs right off. It works like a charm. Sally Hansen gel always scared me for some reason, and I’ve been doing my own nails for 30+ years. That stuff has been around forever but I never bought it. Something about seeing how fast it worked on friends years ago kinda freaked me out and stopped me from using it on myself.

    Great info! I remember you did a video on the blue cross as the cheapest one a long time ago! It's good to know what those chemicals are and crazy that they're still used!

    • @VannaRoses
      @VannaRoses  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, Blue Cross has been my favorite for awhile! It is crazy. A lot of products nowadays are (or at least marketed as) paraben-free.

    You DO remove cuticle (dead skin on nail plate). You DO NOT remove the Proximal nail fold.

  • @grayblanchard

    Makes sense about looking at the ingredients. I’m a guy who just doesn’t want to go into a nail salon and wants to learn how to take care of my nails myself. I bought the Sally Hanson after seeing some youtubes.

      @@VannaRoses I am looking for a product that can remove calluses on the heel. I heard about Blue Cross Cuticle, which is good to remove cuticles but not sure it will work on the heel. Would you recommend to me any product that can remove calluses?

    • @VannaRoses
      @VannaRoses  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I use for calluses is a micro pedi as seen in my video review here: th-cam.com/video/-vHJxVYXuY0/w-d-xo.html

    Yes, I am a bit hesitant to use this stuff cause I feel you have to wash it off for a reason, & that scares me😆 I'm like you, I just prefer to push back my cuticles & moisturize😊😊

    • @VannaRoses
      @VannaRoses  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I understand! But, I think the main reason why you have to wash it off (the Blue Cross) is because of the caustic potash as that is what softens your skin, and it’s best not to overdo it with something like that. Thank you so much for watching!!❤️❤️

  • @yunalunaduna
    @yunalunaduna 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I wouldn’t use blue cross because it has lanolin in it. I worry it will cause lifting. CND cuticle away has better ingredients and works wonderfully!

    Unfortunate here in France the Blue Cross is hella expensive, 34€ vs 7.50€ for Sally Hansen even with all the chemicals, so rinse with vinegar or water to neutralize them and then dry n moisturize. Thank you, lovely video.

  • @zouchile7580

    What bout the caustic potash in blue cross? I thought that was hazardous

    • @VannaRoses
      @VannaRoses  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Caustic potash is considered safe when used correctly.
      All the cuticle removers I have tried have it as a main ingredient
      and it’s also in different foods and in things like soap and shaving cream.
      Of course, it’s best practice to always wash your hands after using it and I personally wouldn’t use any cuticle remover more than once a week.🙂
      Thank you so much for watching and for your question!❤️

    You are supposed to remove the cuticle. The dead skin that hinders nail polish adhesion. The proximal nail fold is what most people call the cuticle but in fact is living tissue.

    I like Sally’s and I use it to put on the bottom of my feet and back of heals when doing a pedicure. Makes your feet super soft.
    Can you do a video of yourself using a toothbrush with soap and warm water to clean the underside of your nail? I keep telling my daughter how much bacteria hides there. Thanks.

      They’re not harmful! Put briefly, parabens have been maligned because of some poorly done scientific studies that showed some weak correlations between them and cancer, but nothing more. Most toxicologists/chemists/dermatologists agree that they’re safe. Labmuffin Beauty did a whole video on them (she’s a cosmetic chemist, she knows her stuff).
