  • Due to overwhelming response about the packaging, this video is Part 1 of a 3 video series showing how to wrap soap using plain printer paper and creating templates to eliminate the need for separate adhesive labels.
    The dimensions of the soap used in this demo are:
    3.75 x 2.25 x 1 in
    They're hand cut so the size fluctuates within a quarter of an inch. Part 2 of the series focuses on measuring the soap to prepare for creating the template. Thank you for watching!

      You're welcome! That was the intention of this video. I know what it's like starting out in soaping and not having lots of extra money for packaging materials or equipment -- or not wanting to spend extra money where it's unnecessary.

    Thank you for sharing. Will the oils in the soap leach through the paper?

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi! Thanks for watching. As long as the soap is properly cured, there shouldn't be any oil leakage. I usually allow my soaps to cure for at least 6-8 weeks before paper wrapping.

    Thank you for showing this. This is a great idea, but i think it is kind of hard to do it in word. Is there any chance you have a free template for the label in word?

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi amarbros! Thank you for watching. I don't have a free template as of yet, but hopefully I'll get one done in the near future. If/when I do, I'll find a way to link you to it! Have an awesome weekend! ♥

    I think this is great for not using sticky labels or shrink wrap... I guess I am wondering about the cost effectiveness of all the printer ink?

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thank you! I had to find a solution because I'm allergic to the fumes that come off when using shrink wrap. It is pretty cost effective because I use a laser printer and relatively low or no color printing. It saves a lot of money in toner. I'm not sure that it's financially feasible when using inkjet printers though.

      @@TheElementSoap That's what I was afraid of. I only have an Inkjet Printer, so buying Labels Online is cheaper for me than printing at home. But would have loved to have been able to do this!

    Are there any methods of speeding up the process. How long does it take to wrap the soap wo a demo? Would you average 1 bar a minute?

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! That's an excellent question! With paper wraps the process is slower. When I'm wrapping lots of soaps, I normally start off averaging between 1-2 minutes & gradually progress to about 30-45 seconds. A lot of it depends on the type of paper & adhesives being used. Cigar/belly bands & soap boxes are much faster than this method.

    hi. where can I find a small heart or crown paper puncher? I see your paper label has a heart hole , right?

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! Yes it is a heart punch. I found it at Micahels. But it doesn't go up very far, so I fold the paper up from the bottom before I punch it. Here's the link:

    which printer did you use to print that paper please

    • @TheElementSoap
      @TheElementSoap  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I I've used HP color laserjet printers exclusively for about 10 years now with no bleeding or smudging. The model I use is HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP m281fdw but I don't think they make it anymore. www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m281fdw
      Save your labels as PDF, open Adobe Acrobat Reader (free version). Go through print properties & set it for label paper. It heats the toner to a higher temp so it fuses with the paper better.
