Wind is always a challenge outdoors. It hasn't bothered me at all. Congratulations on the wonderful finds. In Finland, Roman coins are rare and the vast majority were brought to the country during historical times.
Is that right Miko - I think there was very little contact between Scandinavia and the Empire till a bit later on - coins do find there way though dont they good luck on finding some... or come over here! 😁 All the Best, Alexander

Well enjoyable Alexander, you have some really special ground to detect there, with some very special finds surfacing. A detectorist dream. Keep the great finds and artefacts coming. My fields are producing some nice coins, strap end, and hammered (post medieval), with local Civil War (1644) mixed in from a fort in another field above my permission (musket balls, buttons), so keeping the fingers crossed for something earlier. A trip to the local museum is required. Look forward to you returning after your break. All the best and HH.

I really enjoy watching your expeditions and I learn quite a lot from your tele-ports back to HQ. I've been lucky enough to end my silver drought recently with two days of double silvers including a Henry VI Groat Calais mint. 👍
I was wondering if the Hammered with the staggered Cross on the reverse is a sterling imitation? The one I found is an Arnold V, a vassal of Guy De Dampier.

Well didn't you just hit the jackpot that day! The little square pin is amazing! I am being blessed with a rainy week. I have had 3 inches so far and they promise more. It has really been dumping buckets on the river headland that flows into the lake north of me. I am hoping it rains enough that they can open the boat ramps again. It has been dangerously low with two years of drought. The rain suits my mood since I lost my boy kitty Monday a week ago. His body was shutting down. He was over 10 years old. My little girl kitty just goes around whining. We are all learning to cope without our Fred.
Oh dear Cyndye I am so sorry - my brother lost his this week and another friend of mine too ... it really is the saddest thing it should be illegal! Stay strong x

Hi Alex, it was a bit of a wait but it was worth it! What great finds and another wonderful video to watch! I have now returned from England from a family holiday. The woman gave me permission to go out with the detector for 2 days and I was able to find a number of Roman coins (not as nice as yours), a fibula, one silver George V, fifty modern coins and the usual junk. . In October I will be going back with three friends for a one-week metal detector holiday! Hopefully a nice video to watch before then so that the dreams of ending up in a similar field will continue!😊
Benny I am trying to organise a detecting holiday - it will be super bespoke and something quite special... I would like it to be for a group of up to 10 over three or four days - might this be something that interests? Its just an idea at the moment but I have the land and accommodation... Well done on your finds this time!

Hi Alexander, another brill video, block the idiots.! I found my first roman coin yesterday I've been told it's a trajan, but I can't trace one with the reverse that this one has. Can you recommend a good roman coin reference book.? Would you advise cleaning it? I'd send you pics of it but don't think I can on here. Made my day as you can imagine. Hope your well. Top banana 🍌 day there Alex I went on my permission Sunday with my son did a bit of gold panning in the river to start didn’t find any then went on my silver field for a hour and half last signal walking back to the car jumpy signal only pull up the oldest hammered coin 🪙 I’ve ever found Edward the 1 st London mint I was shocked done that field to death with the legend only my 2nd time out with the Deus 2 well impressed more to come hopefully

Nick that spade is brilliant its really not that short and extremely light and sharp - I can use it like a trowel too so saves me another thing I don't like to lug about ... i have never noticed any back twinges as a result of using it but if you want to send me something else then please do - as long as its is no heavier than my one! Complaining about wind noise in your videos is like complaining that there’s a small crease in the £50 note you gave me
Ha! yes Steve - sometimes when its really bad it can be quite distracting though I must admit... and ah yes, £50 notes - As an Antique Dealer I used to get loads of those - I cant remember the last time I had a drawer full of big 50s - such a shame out was a good feeling! Hope all well!
The average metal detectoirst doesnt even find one Roman coin in those conditions. If anything at all is found its so battered and worn you cant see anything meaningful. As to buckles and mounts, some mny like to think they have found something of great age but the reality is at best bog standard boring 19th or 18th century at a push
You clearly don't have a clue what are bad conditions . Spoiled English men. Flat field and no rocks what else do you want.
Hi Mr.N - I think its especially when we start out we rather hope that those boring Georgian buckle fragments etc. might be a bit more special than what they are... and I am quite lucky with my Roman coins but I have worked hard at it the last 12 years or so!
