Giga Texas Factory Tour Video 4 July 2024

  • I was invited for a very special Giga Texas tour today by the Director of Manufacturing and I hope you enjoy what I am able to pass along.
    I concentrated on getting as much ground-level exterior video of Giga Texas as I could because I knew I would be limited in what I could show once inside the factory. In fact, I was unable to take images or videos inside the factory during my extensive tour.
    Today I made sure to sit on the right side of the bus so I could get great views of the east, south & west sides of the factory, & I intersperse video from 13 June of my Shareholder Day tour so I can show more of the ground level & the opposite side of the bus too.
    This gives the viewer an extensive amount of views that I am not able to get via the drone.
    I provide some additional images of Giga Texas from my recent drone videos to help emphasize some of the points I make through the video as well as some older historical video and images that pertains to some discussions I had about the construction of Giga Texas during my tour.

    The roads in this kind of super factory need to be designed wider, such as 8 lanes, to quickly transport materials and complete the transportation process. It is hoped that designers and engineers will consider whether the scale of the factory is consistent with the road when designing and planning.
    Intersections and underground traffic corridors will also be built to make full use of driverless and unmanned transport aircraft systems.
    Tesla and fuel cell super factories of the same size need to add at least 80 more. The current production capacity is too far from Musk’s desired goal.

      There is not a public tour set up yet, but there are friends and family tours and occasionally, they offer people with referral credits a chance to get a tour. The closest I've seen to a public tour is the Shareholders meetings and big events like Cyber Rodeo or the Cybertruck Delivery event. I hope they are able to offer more public tours someday, but one of the limiting factors is the amount of on-going construction at the site.

    So funny to see your reaction to see the buildings from the ground when you have spent hours looking at them from the air! 😄
    Then was not surprised to see a lady there in a saree (the Indian dress)! Indians are big in adopting technology and many work at Tesla and everyone buys their cars!

IT amazes me every time I go out there all the activity that is underway and how those responsible for managing the simultaneous production and construction projects are able to keep everything moving in one direction. Truly an amazing story we are seeing play out every day!

    Hi Joe, thanks for another great video. Question: Is Tesla offering tours for the general public now? I am retiring early next year and I'd like to take a long, slow road trip to include a tour of the factory. Thanks in advance and happy 4th!

    • @JoeTegtmeyer
      @JoeTegtmeyer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Love the video, Joe. Can't escape the irony that this is USA Independence Day, representing the people's escape from being ruled by a monarch, yet the recent Supreme Court ruling about so-called limited presidential immunity whilst in office engaging in 'official duties' effectively means that American independence may as well not have happened. Americans may not (think) that they elect Kings and Queens, but if this ruling sticks for any length of time as seems likely, they may come in for a VERY RUDE SHOCK indeed. Whatever one's politics, this ruling is an extremely slippery slope from democracy to dictatorship and having to rely on the moral integrity of a presidential candidate/ president-elect/president to do what's constitutionally, morally, and legally right isn't exactly a sound strategy for any country, let alone the USA.

      @@4literv6 Took me a moment to think about your reply but upon reflection, the reality is that although the style of the hats may change, those in power are still more or less the same. China, Russia, France, America, all these revolutions changed much on the face of things, but those behind the throne merely adapted to the new situation by changing their outward appearance. As an old friend of mine from London whose family were minor landowning Russian aristocracy who fled to Britain during the revolution said, they changed from having a Czar to having a committee of Czars. China was the same, as was France, America and eventually in a roundabout way, so was the UK; same people pulling the strings.
      This is not to say I am in any way annoyed or upset by this. Merely making a few observations. 😊
