- The PDP-8/E was introduced 1970 August 25.-28. at the Western Electronic Show And Convention Los Angeles (WESCON). DEC showed the PDP-8/E with the new OMNIBUS design. This was a big advantage for the PDP development, offering other companies an easy way to develop options for the PDP-8/E. So this is 50 years ago! To celebrate this, Volker Herrmann made a small birthday film. Happy Birthday, PDP-8/E!

Spectacular! Happy birthday to my professional start in life.
I’m sorry I can only give this just the one thumbs up! We learned pdp/8 assembly at uni and I have had a strange love for this machine since.

I stupidly forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me

@Avery Pedro thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Avery Pedro It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!

In 1985 i see a IBM S3 make it, same results, but this is best.
DIGITAL was a good company with excelent computers, today i have a HiNote 433 with w3.11 from 90´s.

Magnificent! Thank you for putting this together!
Thanks for your well done video ! I worked for DEC for many years and those were among the best years of my life. Ken Olsen really cared about us and the stories I could tell about him are MANY and AMAZING !! I suspect he is involved in designing the Galactic Universe Internet now and the systems, servers and wormhole interfaces as we speak...LOL
Running the FOCAL interpreter?
Absolutely priceless. Thank you!
0:55 Clever. 😁
Why is TH-cam limited to just one thumbs up? 😊👍
Very,very funny! 👍😊
Is it a personal computer? Anyway, it seems, the personal/desktop computer era started nearly exactly with the 1970s, including PDP-8/e, DataPoint 2200 and GT 40.
can you send me rom(iso) in asm?
