The way i see Ark dinos: they are fantasy, even in the game lore. So it makes sense that they don't quite add up to irl stuff. Although, acknowledgment that the Giga is larger than its "real world" counterpart would be nice. Like we KNOW the arks are essentially simulations so stuff not being "legit" doesn't actually matter...

The Giga was actually more or less the same size as the T Rex, they discovered fossils that they originally thought were larger than the T Rex, but the average size is roughly the same. At least that's what I remember reading.

If anyone is looking for a liopleurodon, they usually spawn here, which is at the black pearl area which is also the tusoteuthis spawn area, you will find bit of an old ship broken into about 4 different pieces, I usually find the liopleurodon to the Far East side of the of the big sink hole where the ship is contained. Also the co-ords for this area is about 50-00 - 50:-05 Hope this helps ;-).

There's a mod that gives you a normal Liopleurodon aside of the Magical Liopleurodon the mod author called it a "King Liopleurodon" and is bigger in size compared to the Magical one. Letting you know it has been made already, nice video and when it comes to a Magical Liopleurodon, there are easier ways of getting OP loot, lol. Ps. Love the Hyaenodon idea, large pack Health + Melee Mutations. A meat grinder for you right there, lol.

Raptors like utahraptor and deinonychus were roughly the same height as a person. But you're right, JP's velociraptors are incorrect. They were about the size of a turkey

does the buff make the loot "better" or just change it to something else? i have changed over many sea crates and i stopped eventually because none of the stuff had higher rolls on properties than anything else i got normally.
It's supposed to make it better, but, as seen on the video, it doesn't always give better stuff. I think the loot tables just change to better stuff, but you can still get things on the lower end of the better loot tables, sometimes giving you absolute crap.
I would love to see a smaller and nerfed giga. IRL they're bigger then Rexes (not by much tho) and they hunted in packs. Basically makin them like super Allos
The mod "Kraken's Better Dinos" has a normal Liopleurodon which you can keep after taming... I highly recommend the mod! Just read the affected creatures on the mod-page. ;-)

Othlas I can’t find the study I was quoting, so maybe that study was disproven? Ah well, the giga is still ridiculous in Ark. The T-Rex has a stronger bite and better vision. Basically, the more we know about it, the better the Rex is, but a lot of games like to make it worse than Spino’s and Giga’s because it was slightly smaller.
Im super late but its better to put what I've gathered. The reason why some of these creatures aren't size accurate is cause firstly they're genetically modified (its stated in the dossiers themselves) on top of that they're also hybrids, i believe it was either the angler fish or the trike but on both helena states that they share similar characteristics to a similar species based off their life counterparts.
Fun fact: the t-rex bite was actually way stronger than a gigas. A giga only had 8 thousand pounds of bite force while a t-rex had 12,800 pounds of bite force. Ark really needs to make some changes
Tyrannosaurus is the heaviest and spinosaurus is the longest. Carcharodontosaurus is another genus that could be considered the "largest", and the giganotosaurus' size is heavily debated on but if it is larger then the tyrannosaurus it's not by much. Also the sarcosuchus is larger then the deinosuchus but is still only about 12 meters. You should check out the youtube channels The Vividen, Ben G Tomas, and Trey the explainer they make accurate videos on dinosaurs. I will leave a link to a Vividen video in my replys, it should help clear some things up.
Late to the party. Manas poop a lot, because using up stamina increases poop frequency. Hilarious side effect of that is that using the gcm buff will cause your character to uncontrollably poop for minutes on end after flying around due to how it instantly refills stamina instead of making you not use stamina.
I’m pretty sure that the drop buff only works on drops that fall out of the air but I don’t know for sure. Or something with your rates be wrong idk. Like so he can see
So don't quote me on this, but I think the reason you couldn't mount your mana about half-way into the video is because of cryo sickness. I haven't played much since extinction came out, but if you freeze your creatures twice in too short a time, then they get a sort of summoning sickness that makes them pretty much useless for a little while. Try to give them some time between summoning and putting them away.
i made an alpha tribe, moved our base next to the bay (at the massive skeleton) and now ppl attempt to raid us when they go for loot. what did we do? why, we tamed 2 dunkleos and got 15 eggs, all of them twins. now we have too much chitin, white and black pearls, not to mention a pond all to ourselves :P
I've found at least 2 locations where the vikings bay chest spawns. Anyone know how many there are total? I've found one inside the boat and another just on the side of the boat (outside, on the side that is sunken more into the sand) near one of the ends.

Othlas I can’t find the study I was quoting, so maybe that study was disproven? Ah well, the giga is still ridiculous in Ark. The T-Rex has a stronger bite and better vision. Basically, the more we know about it, the better the Rex is, but a lot of games like to make it worse than Spino’s and Giga’s because it was slightly smaller.

Im super late but its better to put what I've gathered. The reason why some of these creatures aren't size accurate is cause firstly they're genetically modified (its stated in the dossiers themselves) on top of that they're also hybrids, i believe it was either the angler fish or the trike but on both helena states that they share similar characteristics to a similar species based off their life counterparts.
If they changed creature sizes the spino would become gods wrath

Fun fact: the t-rex bite was actually way stronger than a gigas. A giga only had 8 thousand pounds of bite force while a t-rex had 12,800 pounds of bite force. Ark really needs to make some changes

From what I know giga was a bit larger than rex but the largest carnivore was spino.

Tyrannosaurus is the heaviest and spinosaurus is the longest. Carcharodontosaurus is another genus that could be considered the "largest", and the giganotosaurus' size is heavily debated on but if it is larger then the tyrannosaurus it's not by much. Also the sarcosuchus is larger then the deinosuchus but is still only about 12 meters. You should check out the youtube channels The Vividen, Ben G Tomas, and Trey the explainer they make accurate videos on dinosaurs. I will leave a link to a Vividen video in my replys, it should help clear some things up.

Late to the party. Manas poop a lot, because using up stamina increases poop frequency. Hilarious side effect of that is that using the gcm buff will cause your character to uncontrollably poop for minutes on end after flying around due to how it instantly refills stamina instead of making you not use stamina.

So don't quote me on this, but I think the reason you couldn't mount your mana about half-way into the video is because of cryo sickness. I haven't played much since extinction came out, but if you freeze your creatures twice in too short a time, then they get a sort of summoning sickness that makes them pretty much useless for a little while. Try to give them some time between summoning and putting them away.

i made an alpha tribe, moved our base next to the bay (at the massive skeleton) and now ppl attempt to raid us when they go for loot. what did we do? why, we tamed 2 dunkleos and got 15 eggs, all of them twins. now we have too much chitin, white and black pearls, not to mention a pond all to ourselves :P

I've found at least 2 locations where the vikings bay chest spawns. Anyone know how many there are total? I've found one inside the boat and another just on the side of the boat (outside, on the side that is sunken more into the sand) near one of the ends.
The in Giga in Ark is based off the Giga from Dino Crisis that destroyed a Rex.

Yep, they are still in the game, no mods needed. I've seen them on Xbox and ,of course, you can't have mods on console (yet)
