What is the driving need? Right. Reputation. It’s not driven by anything else. It will be a gigantic white elephant as Saudi Arabia’s reputation for social repression cannot be overcome. Not by a 2km building or a 100 2km buildings.

Humongous ambitions plus egotistical vanity equals...? When sheer stupidity overshadows simple logic and common sense, monstrous failure is insight.

One question. How do you fight a fire 2 km up in the sky? I think asking basic question like the safety of the people in the building needs to be considered more often.

Great movie concept art, but these egotistical vanity projects will never be built. Saudi Arabia has money but it will run out fast with all these wasteful projects. What will bring tourists to Saudi Arabia then? Public executions? There is nothing to see there. There is no historical landmarks to attract tourists, no culinary attractions (unless you like eating goat). Desert landscape can be beautiful but it is a desert, hot and dry, so you don’t want to be out in it for long. It‘s also a politically oppressed and religiously fundamentalist society. City building projects in Saudi Arabia will be empty crypts when the oil money runs out.

Are these buildings built for anything or literally to be the tallest?

Your opinion is just one of 1 billion that don’t matter too much but hey, thanks for your biased opinion

    Define necessary.
Like everything we do except eat, exercise, sleep and have sex is unnecessary.
What a boring world it would be if everything we did had to be "necessary". TH-cam certainly isn't "necessary".

This week, dozens of videos were released, all very similar (attacking everything in Saudi Arabia). It seems they pay you well to insult Saudi Arabia.

A 2km tall building doesn't offset the oppression, lack of freedom, misogyny and tyranny.

@oFaisaloBad things like half naked women, alcohol etc etc. You mean all the stuff the Saudi Princes that come to Las Vegas partake in? 😂. Wake up and see what's really going on. No disrespect intended.
