    The Sky Deck views are amazing! But for me the real star is the Neville Bonner footbridge. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the newly developed public spaces open up.

    I flew in from London just too walk the bridge and view the glass walkway. With the 50 cent River ferry brisbane is a world class city.

    Well done. I noticed two things immediately in the Sky Deck footage : no children (appropriate in an adult venue) and no smokers. One of those things will change when the grog starts flowing - these folk are mainly sightseers. Hopefully they will keep the smokers well away from the humans who can survive without a lungful of toxins ;)
    Thanks for the video.

      You obviously haven't been out for a few years because the only place for smokers in public places is well out of the way and out of sight.

    • @arthurwatts1680
      @arthurwatts1680 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DavidHands and that is as it SHOULD be. More than happy to be proved wrong when this place has been open for a month or so but The Star has bigger problems than designating smoking areas right now.

      @@arthurwatts1680 :Qld smokers are paying about $1.60 per cigarette in taxes alone so not only are they dying sooner but they are saving the rest of the population billions in taxes. If they are caught dropping a cigarette butt on the ground the fine is almost $300. Give them a break. They don't deserve your bitching and moaning on top of it all.

    • @arthurwatts1680
      @arthurwatts1680 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DavidHandslast time I checked, smoking was a VOLUNTARY activity - you make it sound like I've targeted a racial minority. Albo claims the ever-increasing taxes are an attempt to get smokers to quit - clearly, to no avail. And I will bitch and moan as long as this keyboard can stand the abuse, if it pleases the court ;)

    • @DavidHands
      @DavidHands 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@arthurwatts1680 You came out and targeted smokers for absolutely no reason. Tobacco is addictive. Many people started smoking when they were young and prices were $5-10 a pack. Once they became addicts, the government started jacking the price up steadily like a street drug dealer. Now there are people out there spending half their wage to get their nicotine fix. Smoking is voluntary to an extent but if you understood anything about addiction you would understand that spending $200-400 a week to suck down toxic chemicals into their bodies isn't 100% under their control. If you had a life and went out occasionally, you would know that any smoking is done in designated smoking areas walled off from the public. You can't even smoke in an outdoor beer garden of a pub any more. Go ahead with your bitching and moaning for no reason and I will keep replying that you are being a dick.

    Great video. I thought that the Neville Bonner bridge was supposed to be a pedestrian only bridge but the *scooters were of course there. Whatever are they going to do with their user's to ensure the safety of pedestrians!

    A second probe into the culture of Star Entertainment Group has found the company is unsuitable to hold a casino licence and slammed previous management as “dysfunctional”, as the group’s executives scramble to keep the casino business financially viable.

      That is for the Sydney property. The QLD properties have been accused of lesser offenses and have been allowed to keep their licenses.

    Sorry this may be an unpopular opinion but i am quite disappointed and underwhelmed. After 7 years of inconvenience due to closed roads and traffic nightmare in the city plus 3.6 Billion, I expected the interior to be much much more spectacular than this. It's well... dare I say it quite boring and plain. And that bridge looks like a cage recycled from a dog kennel at an old RSPCA. But I guess this is what we come to expect in Qld isn't it....

      If you don't like drinking, movies, casinos, nightclubs in the Valley, walking or swimming at Southbank, watching live bands, ferry rides along the river, restaurants, fishing along the river, then what exactly are you looking for in a river city?
      Sex in a red light district? Standing around an opera house? Marijuana bar?

    • @ninjasan1
      @ninjasan1 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DavidHands haha. You can watch a movie anywhere. Go to the Valley and the chances are you'll get stabbed rated murdered robbed or all of the above. Walking haha. Swimming at soithbank?? Have you seen how disgusting the water is and overcrowded with welfare dependent low life's urinating and swearing in front of little children. Ride a ferry in the most disgusting water in the country.
      Do I need to go on. Even Hobart is a far more interesting place.
