I'm 31 and I feel like this is my last GTA, life gets in the way and games are getting bigger and require more uninterrupted time, I hate games you can't pause so I despise how online games don't even allow a pause...yet that's what they're moving into, they're going to make the online version of the game big and fun while the single player is the lamest thing ever to get everyone into the online and buying what they're selling.... I usually don't even have 1 uninterrupted hour to play games, so doing online missions longer than 25 minutes is out of the question, I just hang in the game, and do bits and pieces of content that are small, before I'm interrupted by life and have to put the game down, then I come back but I don't want to play that game, I want to play another as there's no time to play just one game with the little time I have to play...😂

Yes, time flies by some time but on the other hand we still don't have the trailer yet and the game will be released 2024 or 2025, so it is still long to wait and for me I can't wait and sometimes time can't fly by fasf enough. Specially the corona time couldn't fly by fast enough.
I am definitely curious how different this game would have been if benzies, lazlow, and Dan houser had stayed. The radio isn’t going to feel the same without lazlow that’s for sure but hopefully the story and tone will still feel on brand and not like something is missing.
Based on the leaks, I don't think the tone or story will feel off brand. You can also hear some of the music and radio stations in the background of the leaks, and it all feels very similar to GTA V and even some of the previous GTAs...
Probably not that different. They left in 2020, when the story was probably all but finished, along with a bunch of other important aspects, so I'm not that worried about these guys leaving for this game.
I would actually really love the same RDR2 and Max Payne 3 weapon system for GTA VI. The only weapons you can use being the ones you have on your person, like two pistol holsters, your shoulder and back for long arm weapons and picking grenades/sticky bombs you keep on your belt. And all of your weapons being stored in your personal vehicle that you have to take out and equip to your person is such a cool idea, just like the saddle in RDR2! It’s not only cool but it actually gives your personal vehicle more purpose than just being another car you can drive like they did in GTA 5. Which is the reason why they did that with the horses in RDR2 compared to how they were in RDR1
Would also be cool if you could carry a duffel bag where you can put a few more weapons and grenades in like you got a rifle and two different pistols on person and in the bag a few extra rifles (maybe a shotgun and a sniper rifle) and extra grenades. And be able to hide guns in the bag. But the more weapons you carry the slower you run, it could also make you more suspicious, like if you walk into a Bank with a full duffel bag then the guards might confront you. And having your weapons in your trunk like in RDR2 with the saddle is also a cool idea.
If you told me the time that GTA5 came out. that the next time I will play a new GTA I would have two kids and my own mortgage. I think I would just start crying.
It hasnt even hit me that GTA 6 is actually coming out, 10 years. I was 14 when GTA 5 came out, I remmeber being in 9th grade Spanish class talking with my friends about the game, how excited we were. Life for me has changed so much in 10 years, I can't wait to finally play, it will feel surreal!
It's baffling that some people actually thought GTA 6 could include the whole of the United States. That will not be possible in any game ever, not until we have quantum computing implemented into consoles.

You don't need quantum computing for that. The only prohibitive factor to creating a map that large is the amount of time it would take to produce at an adequate level of detail, otherwise it is capable of existing on modern hardware. Just look at the 1:1 scale Earth map in Minecraft, the only difference for a GTA style map would be that the end user would need a half decent PC to run it. What it comes down to is you would need some seriously advanced AI extrapolating data from google earth in order to generate the map, with human developers only tweaking parameters, working on the engine and creating art/prefabs. Something like this is really not out of the question for GTA 7.

In regards to the weapon system, the leaks show at least not carrying an arsenal. It could have just been that they didn't have that many guns on their person, but the leaks show the protagonists multiple times having a pistol on their hip and a rifle on their back. That makes me think it'll be similar to RDR2, which I'm fine with. It lends itself to more realistic equipping animations and such, instead of pulling a rocket launcher from your pocket.
I remember that one chick on Reddit who was real popular on the r/GTA6 sub who said there was going to be 3 protagonist again, and that one of them would be a cop named Rose who would help out the other two players, Ricardo, a cartel member, and Kaycey, a low level street thug. People were calling her out on her bullshit, but she posted some interesting stuff. Hope she got a career in creative writing.
That leak was pretty horrible tbh, it had a lot of stupid stuff like pissing minigame, on top of character assassination like turning the Von Crastenburg family who own a hotel branch into some sort of mob, and very generic vehicle names like "Bend-OVR" and a repeat "Bendover" (iirc there was actually three of them) Hope this person doesn't actually land a job, or at least isn't in charge (isn't the primary writer)
That character concept sounds cool. With one character you’re a criminal doing normal gta stuff then you play as a cop doing LA Noire / LSPDFR type stuff. That sounds fun

@@Waltzyy I dont think you guys realize that the game was rebooted in 2018 shortly after red dead 2 released. They had to remake the whole concept over again. Also they decided to stop with crunch culture, and also they want to improve upon RDR2 and thats a difficult task its not a 5 year development cycle anymore. Gta 6 was doomed from the get go to be released in 2025
actually the rumor in min 24:00 about the game being based on the 80s based on the netflix show is kinda true, I don't remember where I watched a video and they basically explain why rockstar ditched the idea because in the 70s-80s they could not make microtransactions because of the tech at that time they learned their lesson from RDR2, so the scrapped the idea and started a brand new game on 2020 that is the reason for the long wait and the reason Houser left the company, and some assets of the old "GTA VI" where dumped in cayo perico in the online (cars, map) and some used for the new GTA VI, honestly not so crazy to think about it since they also dumped some DLC stuff into online.
27:16 might actually be very accurate. Leaked footage showed Jason dropping and picking up different weapons, but I also remember a traditional weapon wheel.
The long time development is because they didn't know what to do witht the game. Probably TakeTwo asking for things to be in the game. It wasn't a smooth sailing experience, that's why everybody left

I have two comments to add: Regarding your distrust in the idea of GTA 6 being a period piece - I actually remember a lot of info about this right about after the big leak, when people corroborated the Project Americas rumour from The Know to be true. Now I don't know how much development was done, but I do believe that Dan Houser might have wanted to make GTA 6 a period piece, maybe even a draft of the script was made, but he was forced to change the setting to modern day and maybe that could be one of the reasons for his departure? And about the 2021 map leak at 43:39 People actually put together the map icons from the leaked videos + coordinates data and recreated the possible GTA 6 map from that (can be found on GTAForums) and it is quite similar to what is shown on that screen. So I believe that leak may be real as well.
They scrapped “project Americas” and used the assets made for that game in Cayo Perico. The old timey stuff was given for that game along with all the old cars we ended up getting over time me thinks
I don't think the whole Project Americas thing is off the table because we see that name used in the leaked footage. Maybe not at launch, but at some point I think we'll be able to travel to other countries in the Americas. I feel like R* were hinting at this with Cayo Perico.
I wanted to point out one of the many rumors that a reason why many of the original directors left the company was because they had a fallout w the direction the game was going as Take Two wanted a bigger focus on GTA online part of the sequel and less on the single player and thus many of the original creators left the company. Apparently their vision was indeed “project Americas” but around 2017-18 the project received a reboot in development and most of the ambitious vision of having multiple cities including parts Latin America was scrapped to focusing mostly on Vice City and GTA Online. I also read that the island from the Cayo Perico DLC was taken from the scrapped “project Americas” project. I don’t remember where I read it and of course it’s a rumor and nothing else. Just thought I would share as it goes with much of what u did mention.
The thing I like about the rumours is seeing the progression of fake GTA6 logo design. Initially plain or mimicking previous entries before stylising the roman numerals as rumours and leaks point to Vice City as a setting. Then they lean heavily on the 80's aesthetic despite knowing it'll be set in modern day. I can't wait for the eventual reveal of the real logo which will probably look the same as always just with a different numeral.

18:50 I played gta online daily during that time. I got those messages 3-4 times in one gameplay session for like a month. There were similar messages that said "Sub to Pewdiepie" because of the Pewdiepie vs T-Series stuff, if you guys remember. gta online was definitely a wild journey through out the last 10 years

Lucia and Jason were literally named in the leaks themselves, there is a clip where Jason and Lucia are running from the Cops in a car where you see Lucia and Jasons sup titles where there names are written.
I think they are smart enough to know that the story mode is the launch point for the multiplayer and to get players hooked on the multiplayer they need a solid campaign. Much of the multiplayer DLC is related to the story mode, they are selling an extension of the campaign in a way. The only reason players like Lester heists, Lamar missions, Simon missions, is because of the characters developed in the story mode. I can’t even name any characters they introduced in DLC alone.

An idea if playing a character that is a drug dealer while free roaming: After the introduction and “tutorial”, I would like to have the freedom of selling drugs to specific NPCs through out the map: - Show some kind of indicator on the mini map to show who’s a user. Phone calls from NPCs included of course. - Show on the overall map which neighborhood is a good territory to sell, including your own territory. Firstly run by your distributor or gang leader. Similar to how the gang territory is indicated with the gang colors in GTA:SA - If selling in the wrong territory, gangs that see the sale being made may jump or shoot at you. - If selling in a good/suburban/clean/rich territory, you have a higher chance of cops going after you. Yet at the same time you can make a lot more money there than even your own normal territory. - When running out of drugs to sell, you yourself go to the distributor or whoever is under the distributor to re-up to get back to selling again.
I don’t think that’s a good idea story mode shouldn’t be repetitive sandbox drug selling sims every little thing you do should add to the story and progress it while being new and not repetitive going around selling drugs over and over will become boring and is stupid

I always thought it made sense that the next one would be Vice City since the last 2 were San Andreas and Liberty City again I didn't really believe the rumors that it would be set in the whole United States or other countries. Based on the leaks, I don't think the tone or story will feel off brand. You can also hear some of the music and radio stations in the background of the leaks, and it all feels very similar to GTA V and even some of the previous GTAs...

Probably not that different. They left in 2020, when the story was probably all but finished, along with a bunch of other important aspects, so I'm not that worried about these guys leaving for this game.
I would actually really love the same RDR2 and Max Payne 3 weapon system for GTA VI. The only weapons you can use being the ones you have on your person, like two pistol holsters, your shoulder and back for long arm weapons and picking grenades/sticky bombs you keep on your belt.
And all of your weapons being stored in your personal vehicle that you have to take out and equip to your person is such a cool idea, just like the saddle in RDR2!
It’s not only cool but it actually gives your personal vehicle more purpose than just being another car you can drive like they did in GTA 5. Which is the reason why they did that with the horses in RDR2 compared to how they were in RDR1
Would also be cool if you could carry a duffel bag where you can put a few more weapons and grenades in like you got a rifle and two different pistols on person and in the bag a few extra rifles (maybe a shotgun and a sniper rifle) and extra grenades. And be able to hide guns in the bag. But the more weapons you carry the slower you run, it could also make you more suspicious, like if you walk into a Bank with a full duffel bag then the guards might confront you.
And having your weapons in your trunk like in RDR2 with the saddle is also a cool idea.

You don't need quantum computing for that. The only prohibitive factor to creating a map that large is the amount of time it would take to produce at an adequate level of detail, otherwise it is capable of existing on modern hardware. Just look at the 1:1 scale Earth map in Minecraft, the only difference for a GTA style map would be that the end user would need a half decent PC to run it. What it comes down to is you would need some seriously advanced AI extrapolating data from google earth in order to generate the map, with human developers only tweaking parameters, working on the engine and creating art/prefabs. Something like this is really not out of the question for GTA 7.

In regards to the weapon system, the leaks show at least not carrying an arsenal. It could have just been that they didn't have that many guns on their person, but the leaks show the protagonists multiple times having a pistol on their hip and a rifle on their back. That makes me think it'll be similar to RDR2, which I'm fine with. It lends itself to more realistic equipping animations and such, instead of pulling a rocket launcher from your pocket.
I remember that one chick on Reddit who was real popular on the r/GTA6 sub who said there was going to be 3 protagonist again, and that one of them would be a cop named Rose who would help out the other two players, Ricardo, a cartel member, and Kaycey, a low level street thug.
People were calling her out on her bullshit, but she posted some interesting stuff. Hope she got a career in creative writing.

That leak was pretty horrible tbh, it had a lot of stupid stuff like pissing minigame, on top of character assassination like turning the Von Crastenburg family who own a hotel branch into some sort of mob, and very generic vehicle names like "Bend-OVR" and a repeat "Bendover" (iirc there was actually three of them)

@@Waltzyy I dont think you guys realize that the game was rebooted in 2018 shortly after red dead 2 released. They had to remake the whole concept over again. Also they decided to stop with crunch culture, and also they want to improve upon RDR2 and thats a difficult task its not a 5 year development cycle anymore. Gta 6 was doomed from the get go to be released in 2025
actually the rumor in min 24:00 about the game being based on the 80s based on the netflix show is kinda true, I don't remember where I watched a video and they basically explain why rockstar ditched the idea because in the 70s-80s they could not make microtransactions because of the tech at that time they learned their lesson from RDR2, so the scrapped the idea and started a brand new game on 2020 that is the reason for the long wait and the reason Houser left the company, and some assets of the old "GTA VI" where dumped in cayo perico in the online (cars, map) and some used for the new GTA VI, honestly not so crazy to think about it since they also dumped some DLC stuff into online.

I have two comments to add:
Regarding your distrust in the idea of GTA 6 being a period piece - I actually remember a lot of info about this right about after the big leak, when people corroborated the Project Americas rumour from The Know to be true. Now I don't know how much development was done, but I do believe that Dan Houser might have wanted to make GTA 6 a period piece, maybe even a draft of the script was made, but he was forced to change the setting to modern day and maybe that could be one of the reasons for his departure?
And about the 2021 map leak at 43:39
People actually put together the map icons from the leaked videos + coordinates data and recreated the possible GTA 6 map from that (can be found on GTAForums) and it is quite similar to what is shown on that screen. So I believe that leak may be real as well.

I don't think the whole Project Americas thing is off the table because we see that name used in the leaked footage. Maybe not at launch, but at some point I think we'll be able to travel to other countries in the Americas. I feel like R* were hinting at this with Cayo Perico.
I wanted to point out one of the many rumors that a reason why many of the original directors left the company was because they had a fallout w the direction the game was going as Take Two wanted a bigger focus on GTA online part of the sequel and less on the single player and thus many of the original creators left the company. Apparently their vision was indeed “project Americas” but around 2017-18 the project received a reboot in development and most of the ambitious vision of having multiple cities including parts Latin America was scrapped to focusing mostly on Vice City and GTA Online. I also read that the island from the Cayo Perico DLC was taken from the scrapped “project Americas” project. I don’t remember where I read it and of course it’s a rumor and nothing else. Just thought I would share as it goes with much of what u did mention.
The thing I like about the rumours is seeing the progression of fake GTA6 logo design. Initially plain or mimicking previous entries before stylising the roman numerals as rumours and leaks point to Vice City as a setting. Then they lean heavily on the 80's aesthetic despite knowing it'll be set in modern day.
I can't wait for the eventual reveal of the real logo which will probably look the same as always just with a different numeral.

I think they are smart enough to know that the story mode is the launch point for the multiplayer and to get players hooked on the multiplayer they need a solid campaign. Much of the multiplayer DLC is related to the story mode, they are selling an extension of the campaign in a way. The only reason players like Lester heists, Lamar missions, Simon missions, is because of the characters developed in the story mode. I can’t even name any characters they introduced in DLC alone.
There was also Carver City which was like either Salt Lake City or Carson City it’s been so long I cannot recall

I don't know the general thought on this, but having weapons in your personal vehicle would defeat the "Grand theft" of "Autos" since you wouldn't want to have a car that doesn't have the weapon you need at the moment, like in RDR2 I never robbed any horse because not only they where bad, they where also useless
An idea if playing a character that is a drug dealer while free roaming:
After the introduction and “tutorial”, I would like to have the freedom of selling drugs to specific NPCs through out the map:
- Show some kind of indicator on the mini map to show who’s a user. Phone calls from NPCs included of course.
- Show on the overall map which neighborhood is a good territory to sell, including your own territory. Firstly run by your distributor or gang leader. Similar to how the gang territory is indicated with the gang colors in GTA:SA
- If selling in the wrong territory, gangs that see the sale being made may jump or shoot at you.
- If selling in a good/suburban/clean/rich territory, you have a higher chance of cops going after you. Yet at the same time you can make a lot more money there than even your own normal territory.
- When running out of drugs to sell, you yourself go to the distributor or whoever is under the distributor to re-up to get back to selling again.
Chinatown wars did something similar to what you are describing.
I don’t think that’s a good idea story mode shouldn’t be repetitive sandbox drug selling sims every little thing you do should add to the story and progress it while being new and not repetitive going around selling drugs over and over will become boring and is stupid
