      Let’s stop calling the chip-making ( semi-conductor manufacturing ) an American technology. Americans CANNOT even make it themselves. That’s why the U.S. government twists the arms of governments in Taiwan, South Korea, & Japan to coerce their own chip-makers to cooperate with the U.S. government against rising new powers like China ( & India next in the future, like Americans did to Japanese technology ).

    China's Huawei has given the most correct answer with actions.

    When China's SMIC can produce 7nm advanced chips with all indigenous equipments, America's Intel is still struggling with 10nm, which depends on foreign technologies such as the lithography system from ASML

    • @gauravdey4163

      As usual commenting without checking facts. Chinas SMIC uses ASML DUV lithography machines to make 7nm chips. DUV lithography machines were sold to China and only EUV machines are restricted. Regarding Performance Intel 10nm chips are Way superior to any Chinese chips ever produced. As far technology is concerned IBM just demonstrated to make 1 nm chip and every Chip uses American Softwares and Components and also American chip architecture. China needs atleast more 5-7 years to get to a producing it's own Decent perform Mobile Chipset made completely indegeneously inside China.

This is the third possibility that you failed to report to your viewers (it was not old stock or stealing of technology), that China did not sit idling on its bum... decided to invest and create its own IP to manufacture these high end chips. Remember that when India becomes a giant (And it will) and is seen as a threat to the US economy, it too will be sunctioned by the US. The new Kirin 9000s chip in Huawei's latest phone uses an advanced 7-nanometer processor fabricated in China by the country's top chipmaker, Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC), according to a teardown of the phone that TechInsights conducted for Bloomberg.

  • @SamsungLe-vz2uy
    @SamsungLe-vz2uy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

    Key takeaways from TechInsights’ analysis:
    Processor Size Increase: The Kirin 9000s die measured 107 mm², slightly larger (2%) than the Kirin 9000’s die (105 mm²). This information led the team to conclude that SMIC was indeed the manufacturer.
    Advanced Technology: Initial lab results indicated that this die is more advanced than SMIC’s 14nm process node, but with larger critical dimensions (CDs) than seen in a 5nm process.
    7nm Features: Further measurements on the die’s critical dimensions (CDs), including logic gate pitch, fin pitch, and lower back-end-of-line (BEOL) metallization pitches, showed that the die indeed possesses 7nm features.
    Unlike the previous N+1 7nm technology, the N+2 7nm process offers improved scalability and yield, addressing previous production challenges.
    This marks the first commercial use of an advanced Chinese process technology node supporting bitcells (embedded SRAM), paving the way for a fully domestic advanced SoC design and manufacturing ecosystem.

    Here in India, some of our politicians champion 200 units monthly free electricity, free cookers, refrigerator, washing machine, free marriage money to muslim women etc etc. At the end if one asks what development you are seeking to make, then the answer is no funds for development. They had released this chip last year itself not sure if there are improvements in the chip used in mate 60 pro over the one that was released last year. But I highly doubt west is giving up the euv tech to china. It's basically the last straw remaining with the west that china doesn't have. It's the most complex technology in the world that is built to give it a shape for 20 years. If china would be able to somehow get it, I have zero doubt on china cracking the pricing code. It can significantly weaken the whole west as well. And if china cannot aquire this tech in this decade, it may never be able to aquire it or even if it aquires it later it may not be much useful as well.

      Flood the market with lower end chips that account for 80+% of world demand to put US factories out of business. Since the US cannot compete on price, it relies on only high end chips for revenue.
