We have hybrid seeds developed from crossbreeding for almost all crops. These seeds perform very well in our country with minimal input. Why the rush to bring in GMO that are even rejected in the countries where they are engineered? Well meaning Nigerians should rise up to this neocolonialism. Do we even know what those seeds are made up of? What about their potential to eliminate our safe and natural seeds? May Allah safe Nigeria and Nigerians
Come to Europe and seek the high level of cancer because of GMO food. Nigeria will see the consequences of genetic modified food, I pity what the future hold for them. The west is so sick because of this gmo.
Except Europe generally has no GMO food - in many places, it's outright banned. They grow almost no GMOs - except for a couple thousand hectares in Spain, and that's used for animal feed. It seems that cancer is being caused by something else.
My concern is that, the Citizens of Nigeria would start to face many of the health problems that we in the United States face currently as a result of consuming GMO foods.

Before Buhari regime and during buhari regime Nigeria has been importing America foods that have GMO ingredients such as OREO biscuits which has a written label displaying " Bio-engineered ingredients" which is another name for GMO. Go to the big grocery stores or supermarket in Nigeria and pick up the Oreo business read the written ingredients and you will see "Warning contains Bio-engineered ingredients"
