While this is a great initiative, I doubt its possibility.
Not that it is not possible to do, but they won't do it. 96% of Nigerian politicians don't mean well for their regions and think less about impacting the lives of their people. They are only there for their families, friends, associates and most importantly to satisfy their insatiable and greedy thirst of looting the state and/or nation's resources.

If you saw the reroute and you still don't think this is a deliberate act to sabotage this guy's business, then you're part of the problem. You can't blame Igbos for complaining when the optics is this bad. How are you going to via off the original route, move closer to the sea front(absolutely nonsense), destroy businesses and parks(revenues), then build the road a couple of km and come back again to tie to original route??? That's the most stupid design i ever seen if the design they showed on tv is correct. It's a sabotage to that guy's business and the reason has nothing to do with efficiency or economics.

      3. Only the federal government has right of access to any coastline anywhere in Nigeria from the edge of the sea up to 250 meters inland.
      4. Landmark annexed the land where the coastal way ought to pass. They knew this so they began a disinformation campaign to get what they never had.
      5. Landmark fill the public space with misinformation in order to steer public sympathy in their favour so they get access to what they never had. They even try play the tribal card.
      6. The minister of works has said their business premises is not within the path of the coastal high way. The government even intend to reduce the width of the coastal high way to accommodate him.

This of course is provided that the land was developed legally. I feel for the owner because a lot of sweat would have gone into the project over the years but for you to make this a tribal issue without evidence is reckless. I hope you realize that no one has been prevented from developing, as you call it, the Eastern region. Honestly I don’t know the full details of what’s going on here but from what Iv seen, it just shows how Nigeria most times defeats the spirit of Nigerians regardless of how much you TRY to have faith in the country and in the establishment. Tourism is such a huge industry that completely sustains some economies completely like Dubai and Egypt, why does Nigeria refuse to see and accept the potential of tourism but rather destroys it… This is very very disheartening for the loads of people who would loose their jobs, get displaced etc… If this coastal road isn’t built, it won’t be better for the people who have demolished this business… 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

He was asked a simple question.
Did you give the minimum 50m government right of way from the coast line? And he’s there tongue filling his speech 😂.

Proper business planning means you should prepare for the foreseen and unforeseen.
This issue is clearly a legal risk which the company ought to have anticipated. The way our land law in Nigeria work is such that the state governor is the landlord over every land who can take back what was granted under public interest grounds.
They will have to provide suitable compensation for him. It’s difficult to stop this move really

How can any person or group consider coming to Nigeria to invest when the government can unilaterally destroy your investment with clumsy excuses.

That 7 days notice is criminal and vindictive. Its like telling the owner he is an animal. Is it not the same lagos with tenancy law to protect the tenants? Do we have the capacity and efficiency to maintain a coastal road?
Have they calculated the cost of building such roads which have the potential to become abandoned project by successive government? Should this be a priority project in the an environment of high food inflation, food insecurity, human insecurity, power insecurity, water insecurity, medicine almost out of reach.

Government of misplaced priorities. Lots of communities don't have roads and the built roads are poorly maintained and don't have lightnings. When you get into Lagos from the International Airport at night you are met with stark darkness on the international airport road.

That business employed so many people. It is only a careless government that will jeopardize employment if there are other alternatives in such an inflation as being witness now.
