This isn’t really important information but can save a few seconds (literally) of build time: if you’re spawning a tank with 0% fill level, you do not need to set a fluid type. The game does so automatically once the tank actually starts to fill.
Good clip! I cannot figure out what you are doing at 8:45 ... the whole thing about "flipping windows around". I really wonder what is the trick with that windows and cut and paste. Briefly, my tower works, but I do have to keep the distillation port completely inside the tower, making it way bigger. I do understand how you do yours, but completely misunderstand what you are doing when moving windows around at these ports.
Just a little update on this, the information that the distillation port only need to have its tip touching the wall of an enclosed volume is false. I don't know if those windows are a special case, but it did not work for me. The only way I could get it to work was to do as the tooltip implies, put it inside the actual enclosed volume. Also, make sure you heat the oil directly as you pull it from the silo. For some reason this works infinitely better than making a circulation system that tries to circulate and heat the oil in the column.
Loved the video @ProfNCognito! Can't wait for the next video man! With these new parts, it might be Possible to actually use the Oil as a Fuel Source like it was back in World War Two along with Coal in some instances. I also have the Specs for the Landing Craft Mechanized Mark 3 (or LCM 3 for short) for you man. These were the Heavy Lifters among the Smaller Landing Craft being able to Carry a Single 30 ton Tank like the Sherman as one of it's payloads. They would usually bring in More Troops or some of the Support Equipment like Mortars and Machine Guns and would usually be among the Boats and Landing Craft Carried aboard Ships like the Attack Transport Ships, Attack Cargo Ships or even Landing Ship Docks. Landing Craft Mechanized Mark 3 (LCM 3): Note: There were actually Two designs of this Model of the LCM. The First was by the Bureau of Ships (BuShips) which could carry 120,000 lbs of Cargo. The Second and most popularly known was by Higgins which was basically an enlarged Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) with a 10 foot (3.076 meters or 12.307 Blocks) wide load area at the Front and a Small Armored (¼ in. Steel) wheelhouse decking over the engine room. The Specs below will be of the Higgins Design since there are 2 known examples still around; one is at Battleship Cove in Fall River, Massachusetts and the other is at the Museo Storico Piana delle Orme in the Province of Latina, Italy, 18 Miles East of Anzio, both as Museum Displays. • Displacement: 52 Tons (Loaded), 23 Tons (Empty). • Length: 50 ft. (15.384 meters or 61.538 Blocks). • Beam: 14 ft. (4.307 meters or 17.230 Blocks). • Draft: 3 ft. (0.923 meters or 3.692 Blocks) (Forward), 4 ft. (1.230 meters or 4.923 Blocks) (Aft). • Speed: 8 Knots (9.2 mph). • Armament: 2 Browning M2 .50 Caliber Machine Guns. • Crew: 4. • Capacity: 1 30-ton Tank (I.E. M4 Sherman), 60 Troops or 60,000 lbs (27,120 kgs) of Cargo. Hope these Ships and Landing Craft come in handy at some point man as the Landing Craft can be used for Operations in Rivers. I'll bring the Specs for the Landing Craft Vehicle Personnel (LCVP) and the Elco PT Boats in Later videos so be on the Lookout for those as well. I'll catch you in your next video man!

@@ProfNCognito I'll try, but I'm not exactly sure I'll be able to fit a NR inside my rail cart(Which is my fuel refinery. It's supposed to know ve oil from the shore deeper into the desert and refine it)

@ProfNCognito🕹️ it stops distilling after like 1000l diesel is produced. I have around 1500l of oil in the tower. After some time it behaves like there is water or some other fluid in the tower.
@ProfNCognito sry i have to come back to this. I got it working, but since the space update the diesel furnace only gets up to 260° Did you try your setup since the update?
Love how the stormworks team is being so greedy and low effort they didn't even make new sounds for the furnaces, put almost 0 effort into the desert area (It's just flat, empty 'n boring and you might be say "WeLl ThAt'S wHaT a DeSeRt Is" Your wrong. you can have cacti, oases, desert towns, pyramids, animals, etc.) And they didn't even make Oil black? This is worth $10USD to them? What an absolute joke.
Finally, I can apply high school chemistry to real life situations
Actual facts
😂, never thought it would happen
As a professional chemist same I don't think I've used high school chemistry since the first semester of college
Another awesome video. Now, we need a tutorial on a sweet vehicle to transport all your produced fuels. 😊
You got it.

True but it's ocd habit.
Storm works has actually taught me alot about engines
Both the diesel and electric furnace will also heat a boiler
For steam?
@@ProfNCognito Yeah, diesel steam power...

Windows are terrible

I still have yet to get oil out of the well... Not sure if it is my rig not working or what. But if I ever hit oil, this information will be useful.
Good luck striking that black gold!

You fill my head with som many ideas. im never gonna get to build them all but i wish i could!
im working on a refinery that uses the exaut of the furnace to heat the oil before the furnace
Interesting idea. Let me know how it works out.
?
love your vids, honestly the best tutorial i could find. But how do you sell jet fuel, diesel, etc
Sell it at the refinery
Thanks for the video
No problem!
It says coolant in and out beacause it can be used to heat a boiler or to be cooled
They added Greg tech from modded Minecraft to stormworks?
how to install this oil spawner? I clicked subscribe in the workshop, but it is not in the construction menu
Try restarting steam
It's a workshop creation!

Also very helpful video :)
Can a nuclear reactor heat it? I think so. I even think oil can be used as first counter heat moving fluid.
Try it and see.

My refinery stopped producing Diesel, I dont know why.. I assume because the Temperature went above 400, below it kept refining.
Hmmm something to keep an eye on.

Classic stormworks being stormworks
@@Drnken229 Had the same problem, made the tank bigger so it started to produce jet fuel, it helped
I must be missing something, how do you get a static creation like this out to a place where you want it?
Add-on editor
What if i dont have the oil spawner downloaded, how do i make it work?
Hook it up to an oil rig or buy oil to put in it
Why only use one distiller nozzle why not multiple to increase the amount pulled off?
you can definatly use more i was just showing the basics.
Thank you, time to refine oil with my friends on our multiplayer server and get more money by not needing to buy diesel
no problem!
how much does it cost?
$12,794 for the refinery and $30,194 for th drill platform.
It now spaws fresh water... the spawner is broken I guess :(
that sucks. well it still works if you pump oil into it.
i just realized that the what the devs did the fractal ports reminds me of how electrons are placed on an atom where its 2 8 8 etc
what about electrons going: 1s 2s 2p etc
lol wow dose this even work bc you can’t get a fluid spawn to spawn oil
If me and my friend dont die again in career we are defenitly gonna do this soon!
sounds like me when i play. lol
I have a simular setup and it stops working after few minutes🤨
