- It arrived! The stunning Guardian Designs Steering Wheel. In this unboxing review video I give my first impressions on my new Guardian Designs Corsa-D steering wheel and cover all the custom options I chose to create it.
Guardian Designs creates some of the best custom steering wheels that also keep all your factory components in place. If you're looking to do some interior car mods, upgrading your steering wheel is a great option. Not only can you customize it to your own personal style, but you get a better driving feel (in this example going to a thicker, smaller diameter, sportier feeling steering wheel).
This wheel will be going on my Fiat 124 Spider Abarth, and shares the same exact wheel spec as the ND Mazda Miata.

@@DrivenDistrict That's true!! I wonder if the Ferrari red match the red stitching on the recaro's?
I have had multiple NDs and 124s. The 124 Abarth wheel is definitely thicker than the ND wheel. The Classica and Lusso wheel is slimmer and different from the Abarth wheel.
My experience is that the MX-5 had a slimmer wheel. Between the wheel and the shift knob, it all feels daintier.
Loved hearing your thoughts on the wheel! The spec you went with is so beautiful. I love the vertical seams, I have them on my NC wheel.

Hi. Thanks for posting your video. I love your design, including the black Nappa with the red accent perforated side pieces, the high vertical cut lines, and especially the three black trim pieces in satin black. Gorgeous. I just "pre-ordered" a 2024 Miata Club (Black, with the BBS / Brembo / Recaro Package, but who knows when it will actually be delivered) and will be ordering a GD wheel. I’ll use your specs as a starting point and will keep the black/red perforated side sections, but am thinking about going with plain black Nappa bottom and top sections instead of Alcantara, and maybe a simple black noon marker. Anyway, thanks again for spending all your time describing in detail your thought processes on how you chose all your options. Great job. --John M.
On a completely unrelated topic - Greg from EC has some new Fiat 124 videos up, including 0-60 and quarter mile times. He talks about Dragy and camera positioning and why they are important. I know you had your 30-75 mph pulls, so you may be interested in watching Greg’s as he does his usual thing of educating while showing.
Thanks for brining that to my attention 👍 Getting ready for the Italy vs England game but later on I will 100% watch it! I know recently i've mentioned that I've seen some inconstancy with Dragy and road slope, so i'm definitely interested in what Greg has to say about Dragy and getting times.

That looks amazing, and the more I look at pictures, the more I think I want the Corsa-Zero. So, does the wheel come with all the trim and switches already installed, or is that an option? I don't see an option for that on the order page.
I contacted them afterwards asking if they offer the black painted trim pieces because I noticed in some of their photos they had it (i didn't see it on their site either). I paid extra after for that option and honestly did not know how it would come as far as switches and stuff but this is how it came.
We don’t always have trim available, that’s why the option isn’t always on the website.
Do all guardian wheels come with the cruise control and radio control buttons and black trim already on the wheel?
