Very nice footage! Do you think that this interesting combination sigma fp + PDMovie LiDAR works better than a Panasonic S5 (II) without all this stuff? I am thinking of buying a LiDAR for my FP,.. .
Thank you for watching. I don't own a Panasonic S5 (II), so I don't know much about focus accuracy. I think this sigma fp + PDMovie LiDAR is a system that has the potential to enjoy fp even more.
@@supergrammar Thank you for watching. This is what the PDMOVIE manual says: LiDAR's effective scanning distance is 4 meters and scanning angle is 28. If the range is exceeded, the motor enters a low-power mode and automatically moves the depth of field focus to a position about 5 meters away on the lens. If no object is detected within 5 seconds, the motor adjusts the depth of field focus to a position approximately 30 meters away on the lens and maintains it. When an object re-enters the scanning range, the motor immediately resumes normal autofocus mode from the low-power mode. In my experience, I felt that a wider-angle lens would reduce the sense of infinity and discomfort.
@@cozymovies Thanks for replying. Hopefully @PDMOVIE sees the comment too. I wonder if there is an option to have the device go to infinity if it doesn't detect an object within 5 meters

@@cozymovies Ohh thanks I was curious because I've seen a trend of doing it like that, thanks again for clearing it. Ohh by the way love your work. I know nothing about Cameras but working with Sigma FP is quite Hard (as per Camera Experts) and everyone says It pays off.
Wow that’s so cool! Does the camera allow you to capture full frame with dc lenses even with the vignetting? Thanks for your work 🙏🏻
Thank you for watching.
Yes, there is some vignetting, but it doesn't feel strange.
@@cozymovies Good to know, thank you very much!

Looks really nice!
Thank you!
Why doesn't the system focus to infinity if it can't detect any objects? There are numerous shots out of focus in this video for this reason.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think that option exists at the moment.
do you find that it struggles focusing to infinity? - Very natural with the closer subject matter but appears to miss focus when panning into space

I am curious about SIGMA fp with LiDAR AUTOFOCUS SYSTEM settings, rig configuration, and PDMOVIE LIVE AIR 3 SMART autofocus setting method.

Do you always have to adjust and shoot for each lens or for each shot like in this link?
Is it an issue of the focus ring doesnt have hard stops?
Thank you for watching.
Thank you for your comment.
A hard stop is attached to the attached focus ring.
Any chanse to test it with the canon 24-105 f4?
Thank you for watching.
I don't own a Canon 24-105 f4, so I have no plans to test it at the moment.
Do you record at 30p and then slow it to 80% which is 24p?
Thank you for watching.
I'm shooting at 24fps.
I don't slow down this video.
