Shout out for the review. Interesting point, 72% of cars bought in SA in 2023 were over R500k. It's not worth China investing in selling the J2/Tiggo2 etc, they're in the right marker for these SUVs and that's why. Probably long term they might look into it for the rest of the Africa market
That’s true , our market is really into SUV’s but despite that I still think there is money to be made in the hatchback segment , cars like the Polo Vivo and Suzuki’s prove it every month even though the real money is in cars over 500K
@@mrhowmuch I think this could make a great debate actually. Remember the Chinese ones are imported pre-assembelled, so you pay the logistics of each vehicle, whereas the VW model is to assemble here because they have history of selling. The plan would be do this later for all the OEMs, ie BAIC is building a warehouse now for assembling because they've seen the sales
I agree with mrhowmuch, if they brought this level of product in the hatch segment at Suzuki prices, they will take over
Chery Tiggo 8 Pro is the one for me, though the Jaecoo is stunning 😍
I have one. The drawback for JAECCO is that isn't a seven seater
With the Jaecoo J7, its easier to get the Glacier FWD model. You save R70K and you are only loosing minus the heated steering, AWD and privacy glass. It's the pick of the bunch and it sells for R600k basically which is R10k less than the Tiggo 7 Pro Max AWD.

I am so happy Chinese products are finally getting the credit they deserve and at prices that are not astronomical and overpriced with some features coming as standard not costly extras like from that other brand
iv just been in one. this is a must. you can even talk to her. start your car from outside, light inside, couler changing, not even to talk about all the extras.

This looks really premium in and out, if they don’t have any maintenance issues in future I think a lot of manufacturers should be worried about the Chinese taking over.

Chery cars come with lifetime warranty, for every car model they have. They must be very confident with their quality.

I also like the Chery. Especially interior quality. The sides of the inside of the boot is carpeted in the Tiggo 8 but plastic in the Jaecoo. Although remember this Jaecoo is AWD whereas the Tiggo 8 that's R669k is the front wheel drive. A AWD Tiggo 8 is R730k.

Wrt the comparison to the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, the buyer profile is different. The pros of the Tiggo 8 might not be the things the buyer of the J7 is considering

I'd still go for the Jaecoo, because despite what you say, this baby does look like a Range Rover Evoque dupe. My neighbour has it in white, and she got 21 inch black rims for it... IT IS GORGEOUS!!!!! I'm just in between this car and the BAIC Beijing x55. Any advice?

The moldings on the doors erase the paint and there is no recall company to eliminate defects. In fact, chery dumped customers with this problem

True , the 10K is definitely going towards that , but looking at the tyres and overall look of the Jaecoo I doubt many owners will be keen to take it off roading…

The J7 has a Sony Sound System so it’s definitely better than the Haval , but with that said The Sony Sound System it has is not the best Sony has to offer…
