The songs DAECHWITA, HAEGEUM AND AMYGDALA (and their respective MVs) make up the trilogy that represents Suga's alter ego. They are part of the same universe and tell of the struggles between their inner demons and other personas. They are simply incredible, revealing, deeply symbolic and meaningful. DAECHWITA (traditional Korean march, played for kings, army movements, etc.), is the first in the trilogy and was an applause for all who hate him. While in the title song AGUST D Suga was full of anger, resentment and disillusionment with the world, in this song he presents himself with an impetuous but somewhat calm personality. Furthermore, in the MV there are two AGUST Ds: the one with black hair was the poor one (appears with 6 friends, mention of BTS) and the blonde one was the king (tyrant who kills opponents and dissidents). In the tent, a woman (reference to ARMY) gives the poor man the key to start the revolution. So, he and his 6 friends arrive at the king's lands without fear. Where they show the drawing of Bang Si-hyuk (“creator of BTS”). The king sentences him to death, however, even tied up and on his knees, he continues singing DAECHWITA. The other condemned men join the revolt, singing DAECHWITA. Finally, the executioner who was supposed to kill the poor man also joins the revolt, frees him and gives him a weapon, with which he kills the tyrant king. With this we have a metaphor to demonstrate the lower class “overthrowing the system”. Totally relatable to BTS who started as a discriminated group (from a small almost bankrupt company), who were despised and disdained, but ended up becoming the biggest Korean group in k-pop (true kings of the game). In the time of dynasties, the poor would never be part of the elite but today BTS who started small is the elite. The achievement was extremely difficult, however, with hard work, talent and determination they “overthrew” the dominant system of the Korean music industry (and continue to do so until now, overturning the arrogance and prejudice of the global music industry). Fun fact: JIN and JUNGKOOK appear as extras in the MV - they fight when SUGA bumps into JIN at the fair. 💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜🇧🇷💜
Suga/Agust D/Yoongi is amazing!!! His songs are so raw and honest and just brilliant!! I love ALL 7 members but Jimin is my ultimate love and Suga is my 2nd ultimate love, but as I said all 7 members own my heart 💜 BTS is a rarity. The vocal line and rap line are both absolutely incredible - their vocals, their dancing, their looks 🥵, their lyrics, their personalities. You can hear the passion in their voices and they are all so multi talented. BTS is my life!!! I have some crappy things happening in my life but BTS make me so happy and legit bring a smile to my face everyday 💜💜💜 Thank you for another awesome reaction 🙏🏼💜
Don't even bother guessing whom is your better rapper/singer till you heard a few songs from each. And be ready to have it changed depends on what song you choosing next🤣.
Yesss Agust D goes SO hard!! I love how he can be absolutely savage in songs like this, Agust D, and Haegeum, then in songs like Amygdala, The Last, and First Love he's so deep and raw. Love Yoongi so much!
First reactor I've ever seen to look up the meaning of daechwita at the beginning, before seeing the video! 👍 Want to guess peasant SUGA's crew? At 1:20-1:33, from left to right: 1 - bucket hat and the way he holds it. Later: sitting lower than others (shows he's youngest) 2 - not afraid to wear a paisley bandana clashing with a loud plaid shirt, pushing fashion boundaries. 3 - conservative track suit in a solid color, but also wearing a bandana for flair, throwing peace/V for victory signs SUGA 4 - hidden in the back! Later we see his clean-cut conservative college boyfriend denim jacket outfit. 5 - baseball cap, soft white jacket. Later it's falling off his shoulder. 6 - bleached hair in an extreme style, wearing big black shirt, fierce eyes They are dancers/actors representing BTS: 1=JK 2=j-hope 3=V 4=Jin 5=Jimin 6=RM When they are at their hang-out, pretty ARMY opens the box that has the key to the car (their success).
Suga paid for this to be made himself and then made the video free. Did you spot Jin and Jungkook having small parts. Suga of Daegu Town is DT, well done, you spotted the link.
Check out the other 2 Haegum then Amygdala. Bookish theories has a FANTASTIC explanation of the 3 as a trilogy. The man is a genius but then, so are the rest of them in different ways.
agust d stands for dt (daegu town, suga’s hometown) + suga + dt and before bts his artist/stage name was gloss, his real name yoongi (윤기) also means ‘gloss, shine’ etc in koreen
Yep my Bias always ❤️🔥💜 just so incredibly thoughtful, complex and talented. Genius! This is Part 1 in a Trilogy, next is Haegum my second favorite from our AgustD.
@kabazinga but I loved all the explainations of the historical references like the rice chest. It gave it such a depth richness and rooted in the Korean culture. This is when I fell in love with the Rap line, when I truely understood the depth of BTS lyrics, imagery and genius.
Suga paid 1 million dollars for it to be made exactly how he wanted it. Back in the day a million dollars was worth more than today. To better understand what the symbolism are about watch DKTV . The explanations by a Korean will open your eyes. The trilogy is his life story in a sense. You need to watch the explanations of HAEGEUM & AMYGDALA. The last one will blow your mind, promise. I know that you've watched HAEGEUM but after watching DKTV you'll better understand the complete interactions between all 3. Just a suggestion for you. But it's worth your time to know who SUGA & AGUST D are today. 💜 from 🇺🇸🗽
The gun Suga used in this MV, Is call ARMY,this Is amazing, he Is a GENIUS, Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Colt army model 1860. I’ll never get over his genius in the whole trilogy.

Suga is a very talented guy, and an amazing producer. Love him thanks. Maybe watch it twice for lyrics and amazing video.

suga learned the sword choreo like two days before filming, bangtantv has a video of him learning it
Wow! 2 days!!
Yoongi is a musical genius. Every single video he has is incredible. Plus he's fucking gorgeous. Lol truly the total package.

jungkook and jin were in this music video
DAECHWITA is the first part of a trilogy, you can also react to HAEGEUM and AMYGDALA to complete it. SUGA a.k.a AGUST D's songs are simply art🥰💜😻
Ok I will! Thank you!
This is part 1 so you need to watch the other 2 now, of the trilogy. The next is HAEGEUM you wont need DKDKTV for that but it is needed for this.
Yep my Bias always ❤️🔥💜 just so incredibly thoughtful, complex and talented. Genius! This is Part 1 in a Trilogy, next is Haegum my second favorite from our AgustD.
Watch “amigdala” and “haegeum”…everything will be clearer. In Amigdala, for example, you'll see why he has the scar 💜
You need DKDKTV DAECHITWA to get accurate cultural and historical references and non polite translation.
it’s good for additional information but not for the story, especially after d-day
