A little bonus to this too: You can use the slightly bigger CR2032 as it'll still fit in the cart just fine. Same voltage as the CR2025, but more capacity so it'll last longer. :D

Maybe a little late, but if your game has a CR1616 built in (like my Pokemon Gold) you can still use a CR2025, it just needs a little bit more fitting in and twisting the tape. Voltage is the same, but higher capacity and thus more time in between battery changes :)

So I have done this awhile back i believe when it first came out long ago and it worked. But now I am wanting to sell crystal version but am wondering will they accept a game that’s had battery changed like this at a local shop or will they not take it, does anyone know?

No collector will accept this. Maybe a new battery that was soldered in place, but not this hack job.

Not sure. Some types of tape will conduct electricity, which will wreck your circuit if you try it. It is called electrical tape for a reason.

electric tape wont melt or hurt the game in any way?

You could use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the tabs. It might take a little more time, but it's the same principle, and poses a markedly lower risk of stabbing yourself :)
