We need a major revolution and reset of the art world and the money behind it. All this new age conceptual self-absorbed existentialism marketed to the public has become disgusting.
Arte Fuse, after reading many of the comments - I thought I had better view this again because I must of missed something. I didn't - I appreciate your work on capturing this for us to see. There were many very strong works. I have studied and enjoyed art for much more than a half of a century. I was watching the movements grow in the mid 60's and early 70's. I enjoy all styles of art and there were many in this exhibit that were very strong. I am not an expert, I am not an accomplished painter, I am not a college graduate. I know many of the rules guidelines, directives for good art. Art is not just following the rules. If that was so, we would still be producing portraits for the rich and religious sponsored paintings. Thanks again for spending the time to photograph this because I now cannot visit the great Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and the Momentary in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Thank you. There are many stong works in there and you can spend days researching the artists and finding out why these pieces are so valuable. Thanks for watching and for commenting.
To all the art gate keepers: Yes, there is bad art, you can find plenty of it on Twitter and Tumblr. Usually, bad art doesn’t get far. I think if you’ve made a piece of work with your own hands that has captured someone to the point of shelling out hundreds, you’ve done your job. Art is about making people feel. Old classical art makes me feel just as much as that yellow and blue tiger did, but for two different reasons. Classical religious pictures put me in awe, it’s life like, it’s scale is usually grand, I could almost touch it. Modernist paintings usually make me feel with their stark contrast and stunning colors. You don’t like it? That’s fine, let people live. Traditional art is still cherished beyond belief in this society, so much so that some people believe that’s the only valid form of art still. It’s okay to not like something, but these people make other people feel. If you can show me some solid proof of a conspiracy than hit me, but I haven’t seen anything that sticks. Art is about moving people, so no matter if you like it or not, it’s moved someone else and that should grant it the two legs to stand on its own.
Thanks for commenting. You make a good point. To me, even if you don't like a specific work of art, whether it's contemporary or not, you must at least respect it... it deserves it.
Sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Sage Gary thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Hey does anyone know the name of the artist that made the painting with the guy/girl playing the piano. It was very interesting.. would be delighted to see more of their work.
Some goofy stuff. I don't see many people looking at the art for more than a few seconds. What amazes me is that there is an audience. If you have an audience, than it is art.
Aghh so many artists I wish I had the names of... if you can: -the first artist with the weird candy flowers -"power full because we are different" sculpture -those white and metallic expressionistic paintings -the sculptures with the deer antlers and shells -the fucked up taxidermy table -those paintings towards the end abt the gods and goddesses. would really appreciate if u can fill me in on some of these
I was there- would be exhausting to really view everything. Unfortunately, the next weekend the whole world ground to a stop. No doubt there was COVID at the show, and almost no masks yet. I hope no one became infected. Can’t wait till things improve.
Fucking love how you reply to the haters 🤘🏽😂 keep up the content, I’m just reflecting on how much I miss my local museums right now. You are being seen in the same light as those hero’s posting old El Clásico games from the early 2000s, thank you.
you showed 06:23 and 10:43( same painting)( twice !)its uncanny.... thats the one i was gonna comment on .......it's the best.......pretty stuff in the show but some had a decorator vibe
So many opportunities of money laundering and tax fraud. Fascinating! And people wonder why some art looks like a cheap piece of shit. Poor naive people, they know nothing about art...
This is an interesting comment about money laundering and tax fraud. I work in the tax preparation field occasionally, and your comment has aroused my interest to explore what the tax situation(s) surrounding the buying and selling of art currently are. As I understand it, one buys art, the price paid is their basis. Then, when they sell it, it becomes either a capital gain or loss. I'll look. Into it. Thanks for arousing my interest. Ciao.
I love art and I'm a painter but I loathe all the bullshit analytical talk that goes with art. Us artists are driven to paint and we go through he'll trying to get things as we want
@@heraldeventsandfilms5970 in my country theres a saying that goes like this: "aunque el mono se vista de seda, mono se queda" wich literally means: "although the monkey dresses in silk, as monkey will stay". clothes dont mean anything to the authenticity of an individual. This looks like a great show, but why was it not shut down because of COVID-19. I know we all want to do the things planned, but there was a time to start to isolate. We all knew this was here in February. Great show, bad decission. Now many have the virus - possible because of this event and more. Sorry.
@@artefuse That is true. Unfortunatly I still see people being too close even in my flyover state. We all have our choice, but when our choice may cause others to suffer, we need to chose correct. Federal and state governments down-played urgent Covid-19 warnings from around the world. Thus America now and will continue to be worst hit of the deadly disaster
This is back when pelosi was saying trump was overreacting to covid and to “cmon down to china town!” -But the democrat’s collective memory is so very short term and convenient.
many really childish artworks in it. The carpets are good and sellable. I have the impression black Americans make more reasonable and commercial artworks.

A better art exhibit than many I have seen in recent years.
Good comment. :)

Yes it was a great fair. One of the last.
All art is transitory
I see the art is very playful, intellectual, sensual, and engaging.

Well said and yes, we do.
Why do artist feel they need to look like Halloween to promote themselves? Let your personality and art speak for you!!!!!
Nothing wrong with dressing for an occasion. Maybe they simply don't want to look like YOU.

Because they are all facades and show.

why nobody wearing masks? this was 2020
Because it had just started. This is before it got really bad really quickly.
