Great vid! Have never used lava rock but definitely going to get some. Pantyhose is a cheap and easy to find filter bag that I have been using for years. All could think of when I saw the dirty filter floss was house plant fertilizer 🤣
I have a 90 gallon tank with a 35 gallon sump. The tank is a heavily planted and the only filter media I use is a small piece of filter floss that's it. 1% of my filtration is mechanical filtration and 99% is biological filtration that I do not replace. Changing my filter media takes me all of 30 second. As far as I'm concerned all that stuff you had on that table is pure garbage, nobody needs any of that. That stuff is designed to generate short term capital gains for a corporation nothing more nothing less. P.S. I use zero chemical filtration
